i understand your question. you mean what can we do if we need more than one country maps? i guess you can download the full continent map, but you'll need to be registered

It's OPEN Source so it is free, Unfortunately Garmin maps format is not public, so map generation process (done with mkgmap) is based in reverse engineering. As format has not been completely deciphered yet, there's still a number of problems affecting the maps.
