You are the right buyer for these remains of cars. The more I see on TH-cam it seems that there are many fields of decaying cars in the USA. I am just a private seller who downsized home and i tried to save the metal back of an Art Deco electric fire but there was no demand

I think you're doing a good job saving what you can.. you can't save everything.. room to store it and keeping track of inventory would be hard.. keep it up!!

Love the video and totally understand the need to finally crush them. The best idea I can think of, and you've probably already done this, is to contact Studebaker car clubs and give them a "now or never" offer. Keep up the great work!

This stuff was all pretty well picked over. I think you did a good job saving what you could turn over quickly. In fact, some of the stuff you’ve saved, I thought, “Okay, what?” But, you know your market.

  • @KiwiStag74

Again, as you said, you're saving a lot more than most would, mate. I'm seeing a lot of metalcraft artists drooling over the possibilities! You've also answered a lot of my unspoken questions about some of the hard-to-find bits on what I believe would be a rather uncommon (and therefore hard to find) make of classic vehicle. Also, having several sets of glass for my own classics, I know how much fun storing them is and I would not like to try and ship one, for sure! Great to see you getting through what looked like a HUGE undertaking to begin with. Not long until we see the crusher turn up, I bet!

Evening Silas, I agree, you saved what you could, Studes are not my favorite vintage car, I might be in to the larger Stude trucks, you didn't have many if those...those vehicles were pretty much picked over...be safe...God Bless!!

I feel the same about the glass. The yard I worked at 31 years ago made me pull glass all the time. Never sold any!!! Even the stuff we stored in old box truck bodies ended up cracking just from storage. Nice to know it was a total waste of time to pull it all.

Studebaker just closed, it didn't coast to a stop it stopped all at once. The parts that were already made did not get thrown into the trash. There was a factory full of parts and those parts got saved and that is why you can still find NOS Studebaker parts almost 60 years later. Some of the cars did not sell well and there are no parts but there is a reason they didn't sell well no one wanted them.

13:13 Good call on the annoying insect ambusher...
Praying mantises wait to ambush or patiently stalk their prey, but once they’re ready to strike, they do so with lightning speed, attacking with those big front legs so quickly it’s hard to see with the naked eye. In addition, they have spikes on their legs to skewer and pin the victims into place.

You have a business to run and it’s awesome that your saving some of the parts for art. To me that’s thinking outside the box and I doubt there are a lot of scrap yards that think beyond scrapping. Thank you for sharing your business with us.

My question: What´s about all these rare windshields and other glass-windows ? Do You save one of each minimum ? Back in the 1950/60 years cars with "panorama-shields" were luxurious in Germany - thats why it brakes my heart & glasses (!) when I see them crashing ...
