La Comunidad is one of the most interesting and cool scenario, imagine having Brits and Spainiards having same equal imperial powers and still manage it's colonial territories and some independent states joining La Comunidad.
I'm surprised you didn't include an ending where the war with the US didn't happen, so that Spain never lost Cuba and Puerto Rico. They might've ended up being integral parts of Spain just like the Canary Islands.

@@moctezooma oh maybe i made an incorrect comment, it was supposed to be "that Spain should have focused on colonizing due to the Pyrenees mountains isolating Iberia from mainland Europe, making sure that they were not inconvenienced about conflicts,, (just like Britain but in this case it was the mountains that difficulted an possible invasion), so If they just focused on gaining territories in the Mediterranean and Colonizing the Americas (they also have an advantage due to discovering them, they could have grabbed more of the americas, and be even more powerful. But Spain was dragged in conflics that it didnt need to be in. But it wasnt all fault of the Habsburgs, the Spanish were overextended they were fighting the french, the english, the dutch who revolted against its rule, the ottomans, fought agains protestantism and the spanish fundamental systems remained backwards and feudal, and i was in wrong of them gaining the lowlands through conquest, the spanish king in 1555. The Portugal-Castile ending is pretty great. I would have loved to see what exactly Aragon managed to do in this timeline. Keep Naples and perhaps even expand their Italian holdings further? Would the Trastamaras stay in power or would we see a Habsburg on the throne? Perhaps there'd still be an Iberian Union, even, that still wound up falling apart like in our timeline. It's a big shame you didn't highlight it on the map too, seeing as how it's an integral part of our Spain and all that.

Spain had almost 300,000 in the Carribbean alone. Alos, the majority of Cubans at the time wanted to remain Spanish. I think it could be done, but it would have taken lots of effort and perseverance, which the Spanish didn't have. They only chose to fight America to maintain a semblance of honor.
There's no "enemies", Spain never had enemies, just rivals competing against each other for influence, territory and power. It's extremely childish to suppose "spanish enemies" will try to divide Spain or spanish countries.

It's debatable. The British empire collapsed upon itself because it became incapable to compete against its own dominions and colonies. The situation would be the same for Spain, only Mexico and Argentina alone represent a giant threat to mainland Spain economy, almost all Latin America competes in the same market for the same exports and the same resources, it's not kinda diverse like Great Britain. Even during the viceroyalties era tons of spanish migrated to the Americas, and 50% of all profits had to be re-invested in the Vice-royalties and colonies to keep them working. It's just unsustainable for Spain or any other modern nation to hold a whole alligned and linked Commonwealth, they'd be eventually forced to switch to the system created by UK to replace the british empire system, a stable and well-administrated Latin America would eat up Spain economy or would just force Spain to be just a member of the commonwealth without benefits or the right to administrate the other nations at will. This in the case such commonwealth is imperial-alike. If we talk about a commonwealth or a confederation of free-states it might work better for sure.

The Francoists were able to win because Nazi and Italian support. The Western powers refused to support the Republicans because they feared communism, when in fact Republican Spain was no different than any other Liberal democracy (socialist labor parties were popular everywhere in the '30s). The Republic's only allies were Mexico and the USSR. Mexico couldn't do much, being Mexico, and the USSR were unwilling allies who were more interested in bleeding Spain dry than defeating the fascists. In fact, the Stalinists were wuite unpopular in Spain at the time, but they managed to shift the government towards the USSR incredibly in a manner that I myself do not fully understand. Again, if the Stalinists hadn't highjacked the government, the Republic wouldn't have gone into a mini civil war, and they might have even brokered a peace with Franco for the time being.

I don't think A Las Barricadas is really appropriate for a Soviet-aligned Spain. That song was mostly used by the CNT, who hated the Soviets only somewhat less than they hated the nationalists.
As a Spaniard I can tell you, most of this video is just so innacurate... First of all, why do you say you use the "anthem of Spain", but it has lyrics? Our anthem DOES NOT have lyrics. I don't know what version you put in there, also, 'A las barricadas' was an anarchist revolutionary song sang by anarchists, not soviet-like communists. It makes no sense to put that as the anthem of Soviet Spain.
One problem with the Comunidad Espanola ending: The borders of New Spain/Mexico should still have the THICC Mexico borders of the Adams-Onis Treaty because the treaty was signed by the Spanish!

@@bandito8390 Maybe ukranian anarchists were good figters, but not the spanish ones, the franchist veterans easily defeated them due to their total lack of discipline, the govern didnt reformed the army under the soviet model until the rebles had conquered half of the coutnry, it was too late by then.
@@adamnesico Again, that is untrue. The anarchists lost against the fascists because the Republican government refused to arm them. They feared that if they armed the anarchists, the anarchists would start a revolution against them. If thr anarchists were armed from the beginning, it is likely they could have stomped the fascist uprising right then and there. I find it interesting that you say the anarchists "lacked discipline" considering that the anarchists fought until Catalonia was captured. The anarchists did not lack discipline, they were against unnecessary and unconsentual hierarchy. They disapproved of Republican army, because fundamentally it was no different than the monarchist army of old. It was still bloated with officers, and rank with nepotism (maybe a bit less so than before the civil war, as many of the nepotists sided with Franco). These officers were proven to be incompetent in the Rifian war, and Spanish-American war of 1898. In fact, I would say that by 1937-1938 the Francoist army had LOST discipline as most of the veterans and the army of Africa had died. The Francoists were able to win because Nazi and Italian support. The Western powers refused to support the Republicans because they feared communism, when in fact Republican Spain was no different than any other Liberal democracy (socialist labor parties were popular everywhere in the '30s). The Republic's only allies were Mexico and the USSR. Mexico couldn't do much, being Mexico, and the USSR were unwilling allies who were more interested in bleeding Spain dry than defeating the fascists. In fact, the Stalinists were wuite unpopular in Spain at the time, but they managed to shift the government towards the USSR incredibly in a manner that I myself do not fully understand. Again, if the Stalinists hadn't highjacked the government, the Republic wouldn't have gone into a mini civil war, and they might have even brokered a peace with Franco for the time being.

I don't think A Las Barricadas is really appropriate for a Soviet-aligned Spain. That song was mostly used by the CNT, who hated the Soviets only somewhat less than they hated the nationalists.
