These bags are hit and miss. I grabbed one for £20 recently which I thought was a bargain. However it failed to keep me warm at 6 degrees C despite being an arctic bag. I think it had probably spent years in a compression sack which had destroyed all the synthetic loft. Decided to spend a few more quid and get an oex leviathan. Will hopefully be testing it out over the lake district in the next couple of weeks
Yeah it really is hit and miss.. i managed to get one unused in new condition and the loft was good..the bag warm.. it definately makes a difference on how long a bag is compressed,age,use,how many times it has been washed.. i also have the OEX leviathan.. its a brilliant bag.. extremely warm and have used it countless times in freezing conditions.. lightweight for the size and i actually like the colour too.. a good buy for sure..👍
@@residentoutdoors2303 yeah its definitely a lot lighter than the army bag, which is nearly 3kg! killed me climbing up a steep hill to get to a camping spot on the weekend lol, looking forward to doing it with something lighter!
@@DjJDtech packs down so much smaller too.. it is still one of my top bags that i like to use in winter conditions... its just as warm as my mountain equipment classic 1000.. for the price of the leviathan you definately get alot of bag..
Bought this a long time ago..managed to pick it up off ebay as brand new condition..its one of two i have. I have had this a while now, this video was taken from a while ago just decided to throw it up bit of a blast from the past 😁. have used it plenty until now.. still one of my favourites..rugged strong and works well in cold..although a little on the heavier side compared to other bags.
Pockets on the inside is correct use. The velcro system retains the baffle across the gap below the zip, the baffle being inside for heat retention. The baffle velcro hook strip can be covered (as seen) partially or fully open for maximum grip to the velcro loop section on the bag. It is a compromise between secure closure and being able to burst out of the bag as quickly as possible. I believe (but may be incorrect) that some of the cotton tapes are for adjusting the fit of the shoulder/hood area around the body, minimising leakage of warm air to the outside. A very simple and well thought out bag capable of cosy sleeping under a wide range of conditions.

It is on the heavier side compared to down bags.. it is a bombproof bag though. Still use it now from time to time. 👍

The exact dimensions when packed away in the compression sack are......big and heavy ☹️ but lovely and cosy 😁
Not sure..id have to measure it.. its not horrendously bulky when properly compressed in the compression bag..it is weighty though..

You got it inside out . You can't attach Velcro the way have it . Pockets also on the outside 👍
