- Home of Founding Father Patrick Henry from 1771 - 1778. From here he rode to St John's Church in Richmond to attend the 2nd Virginia Convention where he give his famous "Give me Liberty, or give me Death" speech.

Another great job Chris!! Scotchtown looks so peaceful and well preserved. Sad story concerning his first wife and not even being able to identify her grave. RIP!!
Thank you for this, (I grew up in Virginia so seeing these places is wonderful).
I’ve always wanted to visit Scotchtown. I have been to Red Hill. I think the blocks you showed us at about 17:12 were the mounting blocks for carriages to pull up so ladies could step down easier. Great drone footage too! Many thanks , Chris.
I am so glad you went! Lovely house!
I’d heard of Scotchtown but didn’t know much about it. The house looks like a 1920’s school building. Nice drone footage! VA is green during the warmer months
Thanks so much, drone footage was excellent!
It’s definitely country out that way, but very nice- he also lived for a while in Louisa at Roundabout, but the house is no longer standing 😢
You know how to pronounce Chiswell. I am impressed! My father still speaks like this, certain names and words are kind of abbreviated. A Virginia way of speaking that has nearly disappeared.
Such an interesting video as always. Thanks!
Thanks! Your videos are always so informative!
I live right down the street. I still have yet to go inside.
Great video! Red Hill is a great place to visit too. PH did like to live in remote places.
Thank you for sharing I wander if Patrick Henry could be a relative of mine there was Henry’s that went over to American from Ireland
I used to live 30 minutes from there, beautiful house and grounds. Wish I could get to Red Hill one day too. I think Henry knew better than anybody why we should not have a too powerful, centralized government. He was right! Yes, his wife became mentally unstable & had to be restrained, heartbreaking story.
That poor woman! Probably suffered from depression
You know your architectural and furniture styles.
