The Dark Tower series is the only piece of media that upon finishing, I so immediately wanted to start over, yet felt so overwhelmed that I felt like I needed to live many more years before I did so. I think I was 15 when I finished it and now at 30, I am almost ready to restart the cycle.
I feel like it IS a prologue, but having said that I don't believe that this is a bad thing. It's an introduction into the world, one that I've literally lost count of how many times I've visited this world.
I don’t consider Roland a bad man, just a highly focused, committed person. He has a goal to accomplish and will let nothing and no one get in the way. He’s just as willing to put his life at risk as well as others’.
i enjoyed gunslinger but the later books were not my cup of tea. in my edition in the foreword, Stephen King writes, that he didnt know while writing the books, what was actually in the Tower. And that shows, and that sucks, imo. like they were in the Train, and the train KNEW what was inside, but the characters didnt feel to ask "because it wasnt the right moment"..............that killed EVERYTHING for me. like the ending of gunslinger was very interesting, that there are sooo many worlds, but they got one constant, that thas is the tower. I was like "great", but when the author himself has no idea, and instead he FUCKS AROUND for paaaaages... i felt like a donkey that had a carrot in front of his face. but i really like your show man! its very interesting listening to you.
Thank you so much. Yeah the dark tower is petty divisive. Most people who make it all the way through either love it or hate it. Although I fall in the category of love it I definitely understand why some people don't 🤷♂️

Roland may be a bad bad man, but many of the people he meets are far worse, I'd say that about even some of the folks in Tull and definately in Lud.
