Thank you for this. This MSFS casual flyer is learning the FSReborn M500 and about ready to learn an A320 (This one or the FBW one). Your videos make this easier to learn. Edit: What might be interesting is to have a flight using the FBW A320 and this one using the same route. Then in video editing combine them into one flight. This way you can show comparisons between the two A320s and how they perform that particular part of the flight.
Great video Jonathan! Here’s a tip for getting the weight for the takeoff calculations automatically in the PFD. Once boarding and fuelling is complete press the FUEL PRED button on the MCDU, then click on the ZFW button. That will populate the screen with the data. Then go back to the EFB takeoff page and press sync and you will get the weight populated.
I found the flight planning portion particularly helpful...how you explained why discontinuities exist and how to clear them! I have repeated this flight a few times on my own just to train myself with all the key procedures. BTW, I think there is better integration now between SimBrief and MCDU resulting in more data are getting transferred automatically. Also you pointed out an error regarding the ILS course on the RADIO/NAV screen (187 instead of 181). That has been fixed and is showing 187 now. Perhaps some developers at AeroSoft saw your video. 🙂
how come that in every video I watch the inibuilds a320 autopilot seems to work just fine whereas when I use it it works terribly, flying the aircraft in a zig-zag fashion always struggling to follow the flight plan ?
If it's zig-zagging, it may be due to flt pln discontinuity. Once you've imported/set up your flt plan, scroll through it using the MCDU and check the MFD to see if your flt plan is looking good to go. If there is discontinuity, clear it and it should be good to go, though id recommend doing it after you've input the departure and arrival information as that too could create a discontinuity.
@@WNxDavid990 nah, theee is absolutely no discontinuity. It is just struggling to follow the flight plan route: imagine the green flight plan line on the ND, and the aircraft not flying it in a straight way, but in a zig-zag way, constantly overshooting everything, going left to right and not managing to get back on the right track. It’s just so strange
@@lorenzodemarin7783 hmmmm, that does sound strange. The one time that happened to me was in the A310, but that was because I had a discontinuity in the flt plan.
@@WNxDavid990 Yep, I agree on that - it’s definitely strange. However, I’m 100% sure there was no discontinuity because I always scroll down though the flight plan to check for any discontinuities or other issues with it
Just getting into "actual" sim flying using flight plans and the computers. I have an account with sim brief, made a flight plan, brought it in from simbrief but the OFP is not loading up? Any troublshooting tips for that issue?
The Navigraph FP showed a SID transition. Transitions are on the MCDU departure screen RHS. Selecting the transition would’ve avoided the discontinuity.
Would it be possible for you to do a quick flight into Leeds? I have the Orbyx version of Leeds/Bradford installed and I am wondering whether that is the issue
Great video as always, I am still having a huge problem getting an IFR flight to work. Clearly something I am doing wrong but I feel I am following the steps here. The issue I am having is getting autopilot to keep following the flight plan. All of a sudden all sorts of alarms go off, AP disengages and won't re-engage for a few seconds. Then I get it to re-engage and it starts to get back on track and then it does it again. I can't see any disconiuities but I must be missing something. Does also having the old A320 installed clash in some way? I am trying to fly to or from Leeds which I have as a third party addition. Could that be the issue?
How does this perform compared to the excellent free flybywire version? I found the 310 was a frame rate issue but not tried the updated Inibuilds 320 neo but usually if I want to do 320 my goto is still the flybye wire. But not doing much msfs of late these days for one reason or another atm.
Great video. I have problems with the takeoff and landing where the plane wants to veer to the left. On a couple of occasions, I was able to take off with an effort and once in the air and auto pilot engaged the plane flew the flight plan all the way to the runway of the destination airport. After landing the plane again wants to veer hard left with little or no control of the rudder/tiller peddles until I slow down to taxi speed. I enabled tiller with rudder function in the EFB and have zero problems taxiing. Still have not had successful landing due to hard left veering even though I nailed it on the runway.
I followed all the steps according to the video. But the plane does not stabilize when it takes off. He also does not take the scheduled course. It's very frustrating. Can you give me suggestions. I'm doing it from my PC
Hey Jonathan , I love your videos ..they taught me how to fly step by step.I wanted to ask how does one engage the speed/altitude manage mode by using a mouse , its just a simple right click yeah?
I wanted to ask why do you write up your own procedures/checklists? From a realism and immersion standpoint, don't you think actual checklists would give a more authentic experience? Even if manuals are not included in the documentation with the aircraft, there are so many sources available to get real checklists and procedures. Just curious as to what your opinion is on this. Thanks.
The procedures he writes are designed to get you in the air as quickly as possible. Sure it misses out checks and stuff you'd do IRL, but sometimes I'm short for time, so I follow his procedures. If I have more time, I do use the checklist it has in game as it's very detailed.
Only issue I’ve been having is the APU staying on for the entire flight. I turn it on, let it do what it does, start the engines, turn the bleed off, wait a while, then turn the master off. The APU then continues to run the whole flight so much so that I have fuel imbalance. Anyone else??
You entered the cf altitude 3000 instead of the ff alt 2000 for descent... this is why you were too high for the glide slope. But considering you're making a video and have no co-pilot, I will let it slide 😂
This airplane on xbox is terrible . No nose steering when taxing no lnav throttles are on full or on idle nothing in between , wish I could delete it 😂
On PC i had almost no nose steering either untul i changed settings on the cockpit tablet. There is an option called "rudder controlls tiller" or something likie that and turning it on "YES" position solved the problem. I hope it will work for you too :D
I am having no trouble on the Xbox series x. Only issue with the plane is the slowing down once on finals, it appears to me to be too slow and quiet often get over speed warning.

Nice vid. I like people who actually record the whole flight and not cut the flight using wingviews and stuff
Safe travels have a great flight
Nice landing

That was a good enough landing, let them jump!

This happens to me when I try to follow the SID out of DFW. No discontinuities at all.

same here
i dont get init request on the computer what do i do ?
Does anyone know why I cannot toggle GPU and Chocks?
Hello 👋
I’ve worked it out now it was because I never entered the departure and arrival airports, should have know better as I regularly fly the 737 durh!

XBOX USERS. Use the Left stick to steer the plane with nose wheel, using rudder will not work
@@swtelfer1 have you turned all the settings off that the tablet asks you too do ? Should I turn them back on ?
I have the settings as per 330driver instructions. I have turtle beach rudders
