    Now that I am out of the Nabil tunnel, it is pretty obvious that it is Jurre. I rewatched the first 6 episodes without my "Nabil" blinders on, and it was quite clear that Jurre was the most suspicious. He's also brought in the least money based on the "Follow the Money" theory. And this episode just solidified that choice. In the hang gliders, I said "if he picks box #3, he's the Mole" - and that's what he did. That choice ensured that the full money would not be added. In the game on the beach, the Mole would have two possible strategies - either eliminate themselves first to take them out of the game and make it a fair race between the others, or win the race based on the advanced knowledge of the games. Jurre chose the latter. It seemed odd that the game would guarantee 1,935 euros in the pot ... but of course, it really didn't because the winner was the only one with the chance to gamble that money away. Since that was the only way to "Mole" in the game, it makes sense that the Mole's strategy would be to win the race, take money out of the pot, and avoid having to have a "meeting" with one of the other candidates.
    It's interesting that this season is playing out kinda like the recent Netflix version of the Mole. In that game, the viewers figured it out pretty early in the season, while the contestants had difficulty figuring out who the Mole was during the game play. Assuming it is Jurre, only Daniel is on to him at this point, and the other 3 contestants are wrong. It will be interesting to see if Soy and Ranomi have an epiphany after seeing the test question answers and Anke's elimination, and start to catch on that it is Jurre. Otherwise, Daniel may cruise to the victory. To me, the only remaining suspense at this point is who wins. Kudos to everyone who was onto Jurre from the beginning.

    Is it just me or as the season has progressed there are barely any chances to make money, and even if they do make money there is a challenge shortly after where they get the opportunity to just spend the money they've just earnt?! Like we only seem to be getting a couple of actual assignments rather than the traditional three, last week was a poor episode for this too
    I'm putting all my bets on Daniel now for my traditional 'executed in Episode 8' record, Anke saying 'thank you' in the previous episode did seem a little too obvious for the producers to leave in the edit! They usually have a cryptic clue when they show all the candidate times on screen as in the maze times so I'm still trying to work anything out from that

    The time during the maze only counter for if there was a tie, correct? To me, if I was lagging behind and knew that I was already going to be one of the last people to arrive, I'd double back and make notes (either mental or writing them down; depending on what's allowed) on how everyone answered every question. I feel like, at that point, it's much more worth it to have everyone's answers than to come in 4th instead of 5th or whatever. If you don't get eliminated, then you'd have a pretty good idea where everyone else's head is at, who is likely The Mole, and who you can be extra suspicious around in order to make them think you're The Mole.
    As far as The Mole goes, I'm with those that think it's Jurre. No matter who landed where, the crux of their plan involved no one landing in box three. It didn't maximize the money or the jokers. The only reason you'd land there is to take money out of the pot. You can blame Daniel all you want for landing in box one, but at least someone landing in box one got them money and was part of the overall plan.

    Spoilers below:
    Last episode cemented Jurre as my prime suspect (Nabil being my second suspect out of the picture helped as well), and this episode just confirms it. I've never seen him so eager to complete a task since the first task of the show. Obviously the mole doesn't want to give clues to other contestants about his identity and giving away the money just earned is a plus.
    I really liked this final task. It could have done strategically, as to match the answers to other contestants, so you can't be eliminated. Anke could have had done it, as being the fastest didn't save her here.
    Also, kinda strange that Daniel and Anke had a bond, but are not going for the same mole.
    Anke, you should have listened to Daniel, Jurre is the mole.

    • @noabinnendijk361
      @noabinnendijk361 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then again, if you match your answers another contestant exactly the other contestant would be done first, and you'd lose any advantage. You'd guarantee them a safe passage through, instead.

  • @noabinnendijk361
    @noabinnendijk361 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    19:00 I am standing behind Daniel on this when it comes to the strategy--he could've chosen better, but he's also the only one who earned any money, he's one of the only ones who have been earning money these past few episodes period. HOWEVER. The Mole is not a fair game. This task was fairly presented: it wasn't first-come, first-serve. If you wanted to make sure the others don't get an advantage, if that's worth more to you than money, you could've landed in one of the joker boxes to cancel out those jokers. It comes down to what you're prioritizing.

    Thanks Marieke! Spoilers below!
    Welp...don't have much to say this week. This season felt so strong at the start and ever since the church chair assignment it's just been a steady downhill in challenge quality and sabotages. Jurre has just been so obnoxiously obvious all season really, but especially so in the last few episodes that it's not even that fun to watch anymore. I'm just rooting for Daniel at this point and hope he can have a fun sabotage the mole moment (Sand Dune 2.0 would be great). Guess I'll still go over the episode though.
    Challenge 1: This challenge was okay, I just think it was missing a layer. Maybe a portophone sabotage? (Lol, that's a joke. We don't need more this season.) My favorite thing is everyone trying to put the blame on Daniel when he's the only reason they won any money in the task. I mean Anke would have contributed too obviously but still. Plus how is he supposed to trust anyone else to land in the second box? He won the guaranteed money. How do the rest of these looneys not see Jurre completely messing this challenge up by picking the weirdest option on the board that's clearly just there for the mole? I liked the dichotomy of the decision making between Daniel and Jurre though. Daniel: No, I want to be seen as a team player; let's go for the pot. Jurre: I want to win; eff that money. Jurre, if you aren't the mole, and with behavior like this, no one would want you to win. I can already mentally see how smug he's going to be at the finale and I'm going to be grinding my teeth the entire time. I'm praying at the end of episode 9 the Netherlands just has like 90% suspicion on him and 5% on the other two finalists. Would be hilarious.
    Challenge 2: I still have no idea how Jurre, for as short as he is, got done with the rope first. Did he spend the two weeks' prep time just practicing this challenge? XD But yeah, this felt like a survivor challenge, which was...fine I guess. It's just very lackluster when the mole wins the challenge and gets to have an appointment with...himself. And can I say, Meet the Mole Challenges(TM) are some of my FAVORITE challenges of all time. I love when the mole has to put on a performance for contestants and try to trick them literally under their noses. But this ain't it. It had such a nice set up too; we had the 'Mole Appointment'/'Blind Date' moment in...episode 3? I think. So a nice callback to earlier in the season. But then they broke up the tension after the phone starts ringing with the weird flash forward to the contestants meeting back up, then the flashback to the phone again. Just broke the immersion. Then there was no lead up to there being anything interesting with the money this year (especially with its late arrival in the season) so that reveal was pretty lame, and then it just being questions for the finale...going to the mole. And not even like hard or obscure questions like 'What TH-cam video helps the mole fall asleep at night?' No it's easy stuff like 'What adjective did the mole have in the hotel assignment.' QUESTIONS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN ASKED ON PREVIOUS TESTS. It was sooooo anticlimactic. Can't wait to see this at the reunion (insert eyeroll).
    Most annoying exchange (paraphrasing):
    Soy: So are you going to tell us what happened? Were you face-to-face with the mole?
    Jurre: No, I'm not going to tell you anything about what happened. Not what I saw, not what I heard. Nothing.... I feel like an oracle now!
    Me: Well, thanks for the interesting television Jurre.
    Most annoying confessional (paraphrasing):
    Ranomi: It would of course be genius if Jurre had a mole appointment with himself.
    Me: NO IT WOULD NOT. IT WOULD BE BORING.
    Challenge (?) 3: I had almost forgot about the maze in the preview last week, and this is the weirdest challenge. But...not in a bad way? Definitely the most interesting thing to happen in the last few weeks. Hopefully the knowledge of who other contestants' prime suspects are will knock some sense into Soy and Ranomi. Also, for those calling out the contestants for not staying longer in the maze, it's been confirmed by production that they were allowed a maximum of 45 minutes in the maze. I can understand Anke finishing up as quick as possible, if she saw Soy answering questions on Ranomi too. It might come down to time for her. But if I were Daniel and I knew people were filling out on everyone but Jurre you better believe I'd be spending my sweet time in that maze seeing what answers the poop brown color was providing. (Although we don't see poop brown provide ANY answers at all. Feels like production is just enjoying throwing Jurre under the bus and making him as suspicious as possible.)
    Why is question 17 'Who did Jurre have a Mole Date with?' Isn't this just the same question as 'Who is the Mole?' Why the redundancy?
    This season feels like what season 18 would have been like if Ruben had been the mole rather than Jan. Heavy edit and way too obvious to the point that the reveal is going to be really anticlimactic. Kinda makes me wish they didn't make the contestants' suspects so blatant in the test/execution (elimination) portion of each episode. It would be harder to determine moles/probable winners and make things a bit more mysterious surrounding the season. If you weren't on Jurre by now, seeing Daniel zero in on him and for Jurre to go after Daniel now of all people (even though you don't see him answer ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL in the maze) should make you pretty certain, and I don't like being at that point with the grand reveal still 3 episodes away.
    Laser game next week! Let's gooooooooooooooooooooo

    Jurre just shot up four places on my suspect list, all the way to the top, in this episode alone. Guy is really working for it.
    He gave up a likely 2000 euros for a joker, a single joker, that he would've probably gotten anyway in the joker divide Daniel proposed. And then he was immediately ready to give it up to someone else!! I don't care how invested you are in making yourself look suspicious, that is NOT crewmate behavior.
    And then the weird thing in the blind date... where the Mole says that the more money Jurre spends, the more information they'd give him. And instead of waiting for him to say anything about what he's willing to spend, the Mole immediately starts listing off information, without even pausing to allow Jurre to step in. We know it's not edited together because you can see Jurre scrambling for his notepad and pen while the Mole is talking, to catch up. We never see him say anything that the Mole responds to, like "okay give me more info" or "stop giving me info". This felt so obviously prerecorded... and if it was, considering the specific amount of 1335 Jurre 'spent', it had to be scripted with Jurre. And it's JURRE! He acts around the candidates like he's the most selfish of them all, always sacrificing money for personal advantages, there's NO way he wouldn't spend all the money he earned for information that valuable, if it wasn't scripted beforehand.
    As for the elimination... So much respect to Anke! She exits after doing one last huge favor to the group: giving the money pool to someone she knows can't be the mole. She uses her post-game knowledge for the benefit of the crew, she was the most helpful ghost. I really love that.
