I work in Pretoria CBD, not far from the Church street market. as you can see on the video, young women freely walk around. I have been shopping at the market thousand of time, and not once did someone lost anything like you said. I think you should have gone to places of interest that have rich history like church square, women museum, Transvaal museum, Paul Kruger house, SA Reserve Bank, Pretoria Zoo (The biggest zoo in Africa and one of the 8 biggest zoo in the world)etc. All these places, are just a walking distance. Everybody knows street venders and retail shops. no one will get fascinated by that.

  • @GrootmanSipho

It doesn't make sense when you say Cape Town is a "White city" and Pretoria is a "Black city" when there are more Black people in Cape Town than White people. And there are more White people in Pretoria than Black people.
South Africa is a multiracial country and like any other multiracial country, it all depends on the area you're in. So some areas are majority Black, some majority White, some majority Coloured, Indian/Asian etc. But South Africa is still a majority Black country.

LOL @ 7:07 There are more white people in Pretoria than Cape Town percentage-wise.
Your issue appears to be that both in Joburg and Pretoria you seem to be more interested in going to the migrant-heavy areas, rather than the local ones and calling it the "real" streets. You seem to show almost nothing interesting in either City, which is disappointing considering what both cities have to offer.

    • @edwardmkwelele

      WHERE ARE THOSE WHITES THEN?

    • @agrid2608
      @agrid2608 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@edwardmkwelele They are exactly where most *local* middle-class blacks are. In the new districts of the city.
Just like in Johannesburg, the term CBD is misleading.
*OLD* CBD is a far more accurate term for what he is showing.
      Consists mainly of immigrant businesses.
Your problem is you think a guy showing you a few streets makes you an expert on a place.
You literally haven't seen anything other than what he wanted you to see, so why ask where they are in CAPS as if you know the whole of Pretoria (a city of millions) based on what he *chose* to show you?

But I come because I haven't lost hope in you and contrary to the popular belief us South Africans we generally love brothers ad sisters from the rest of the continent. But I must point out that though you are witnessing beauty, organisation, higher std of living nicely managed African country you are hellbent on highlighting the negative. This doesn't bother most of us locals because we are not insecure about our country. It has outdone itself and competes with the best not just in Africa but in the world. I'm puzzled by him. He's a worldwide traveller so why the repetitive pattern of going to the same streets every day in cities as varied and historical as Pretoria and Johannesburg?
Though I enjoyed the walkabout ( false claims about it being dangerous notwithstanding) It's been an opportunity missed.
Where're all the new developments, museums, Parks, union buildings, historical places of interest like Freedom Park etc?
At this stage, he's done more damage with his alarmist mantra and stereotypical narrative that I find really disappointing and saddening.
Perhaps we are expecting too much from you tuber who's got every right to convey images and messages as he pleases.

the difference between Cape Town and Joburg/Pretoria is that in Joburg/Pretoria the more affluent people and big businesses are no longer based in the CBD. Pretoria has way more white people than CapeTown, but you willl not find them in the City Centre.
but i guess you are just making commentary on whatever you are observing as you move along.

When you google the most dangerous cities in Africa Pretoria is among them okay so that's what foreigners fo when they land in alien lands, then you goes ahead to tour the most dangerous city as mentioned without fear to bring out the best moments and positive vibes from the place.since you've not been subjected to any negative issue in the most dangerous city you have to write/compile a report, which he is now doing so that means your heading/tittle will read as the most dangerous city but your points/findings dispute/dictates their claims.have you now understood what he's doing??he's not showing the dangerous side which the media will potray rather than that he shows the good side of the city.so he's just correct

Hi Marwa & BO, i just want to tell you Guys the social Difference between Cape Town in S/ Africa and Pretoria in S/ Africa. In Cape Town is much more Westernized and majority of them are white and with their Beautiful Sports CARS and they are not Family Oriented because you can not see people with Kids instead they have their Beautiful Sports CARS PARTYING FROM BAR TO BAR.
In Pretoria, there is for THE AFRICANS and you can observed that in the streets when motorist Hoots their car horns. One can see a lot of women with Kids and that means they are family oriented and most of The Women are obese. Most of The Building there are BLACK OWNED like The famous AGNES BOTHONGO HOUSE.
