I picked up a shoulder injury earlier in the year and the Clash 98 V2 has helped keep me on court. I think it is underated. Plenty of comfort control and spin. I am really enjoying using the Clash 98 V2.

Thank you for making this useful comparison test. I'm a current V1 98 user. I'm a bit apprehensive to switch to the V2 due to the increased stiffness, however it appears it helps to address the off-center forgiveness which has been an issue for me. Have you tested the V2 Pro? How would you compare that to the V1 Pro and the V2 98? I'm leaning towards purchasing the V2 Pro's, as they seem to have slightly lower stiffness rating ~58 and 1pt more headlight than the V2 98.

Have you tested with them both? And what have you decided on?

I ended up buying a few V2 Pro’s. I have a briffidi swingweight machine. I bought 5 and returned the 2 that were too heavy in swingweight (322-327 strung). The ones I kept had strung swingweights of 315-320 which is much easier to swing. It has been a wonderful racquet strung with full low powered poly strung at 40-42 lbs. Compared to the v1 98, the v2 pro is noticeably more stiff feeling. But it is still comfortable. I tried using the v1 100 (295gm) and while they are more plush on contact, the overall feel hurt my elbow more because of the lower static weight caused me to use more strength to counter the impact of the ball. The stiffer feel makes the v2 pro feel much more solid and direct compared to the v1’s. I get plenty of spin still despite the 16x20. I have not and don’t plan on trying the v2 98 which has supposedly less spin. So v2 pro 100 in the end provides me with the same power, but more forgiving on all shots with a larger sweet spot. I have less mishits (shots not in sweet spot) compared to my v1 98. Also, to balance the increased stiffness from 55 to 58, and with the 16x20, I’m able to string 3-4 lbs lower than the 16x19 clash without any loss of control, and to increase comfort.

The V1 version of the Clash .. the one ☝️ racket that gives me 💯% comfortable usage and does not hurt 😢 my elbow 🏥
No chance I am « downgrading » to the V2..

I bought one here in Brazil a few days ago and I was very disappointed. the ball just doesn't move, it takes a lot of force to hit it.

Try taking the tension down to 40 lbs.I have a number of friends who are using the V1 and that’s what they did and the racquet came alive for them.
      * they initially had the same issues that you’re experiencing, and what they did was they kept taking the racquet down pound by pound until they found the sweet spot tension and for them that was 40 lbs.

@@timgrande2848 I agree. Many clash players around here (40 to 50 year old)and all using low tension like 40lb and loving it

I played with the Clash 98 v 2 today for the first time. I quite liked it and thats from someone who is a big Yonex fan. A little less spin than I am used to, but plenty of control which I enjoyed. Mine is strung at 48lbs as I felt 40lbs would be too low for me. Hope that helps?
