Guess you might not like the Persona 4 Golden run then. Since the runner there doesn’t talk very much about the story. Don’t worry though its still a LONG but very fun run
The Many Deaths of WillDie Death 1: 26:00 Death 2: 2:49:12 (Nocturne: "So I heard you say I was being nice to you...") Death 3: 5:46:19 ("So this part right here is super scary...")
I'm sad I had to go to sleep midway through this run and couldn't get more clips live as things were going. But I'm looking forward to seeing this in full. This is downright glorious and it still boggles my mind that this can can be run in 14 hours.
it’s fucking amazing that such an infamously difficult jrpg has a speedrun on youtube finally. this was awesome to watch. edit: that game over in the obelisk was one of the most disheartening things i’ve seen in a speedrun. i would’ve just quit at that point if i was playing haha
This game is brutal on NORMAL diffculty. Hard is a nightmare. I never finished this game, as it was both too dark, and I ended up with game ruining spoilers that kept me from wanting to play.
ChillTerumi well, you could say the “true demon ending” is the best ending because you’re getting all the content out of the game. the other endings miss out on completing the amala labyrinth
I wish I could’ve seen this live. I caught most of his run this year of DDS and after that I downloaded it again to start playing haha, I freaking love SMT!! I need to play strange journey redux as well
@Anthony Broussard Not true, destroyed him on my first playthrough. Uzume is just too good for that fight. I was surprised that this is the trademark boss people have trouble with
Speedrunning this game on hard is hardcore. It's infamously difficult even on normal. I've beaten this game on hard 4 or 5 times and it is a teeth-clenching struggle even when your taking your time. You have my respect.
5:46:27 *Yikes, that one random battle right after all those previous battles on top of several bosses on the Obelisk went very badly for Pink Pajamas! 'Rage-inducing' indeed!*
One thing I like about the SMT games casually is that they aren't super grindy. If you explore naturally, it is fairly unlikely you will be underleveled. They are hard games, but fairly well balanced. The only time I did any grinding was before Matador... because Matador. Of course, in a speed run, you get much less encounters, so grinding becomes required.
That being said, Matador immediately followed by Thor is a bit of a wall. More of a skill/knowledge wall than a level wall... but a little bit of a level wall.
Man... this game is amazing!!! So fun and hard at the same time. I'm playing again right now on my ps3, and thanks to you i remember some things that help me play this awesome game
how can you sit and play 7-8 hours straight without getting up and going to the bathroom? i mean i can't even sit for 3 hours in the office without going to the bathroom at least once... and i can see that there's a 6-hour 2nd part... how do you even practice that shit? that must be like a full time job
well a lot of longer games will have short periods of time where you are only mashing text and with this being run on the PS3 he has a wireless controller so you can just mash through text while using the restroom
50:00 I actually never knew this...i always tried to answer appropriately. I would just guess how lawful/chaotic a demon was based on their type and whatever and hope it worked out
Straight up I swear some of the answers are random and some aren't like everytime I answered a mantra demon with a strong better than weak or a nihilo demon with big brain good they always joined me either I'm lucky (likely) or its only random sometimes which makes more sense as than it would feel truly random
@@joshuamedina6807 It is partially random. Hell, sometimes you even get times where both options are bad for you. You can savestate and go back and try both and they both result badly. It's stupid.
the magatama doesn’t actually go into the back of the neck and turn into that thing, that’s just a weird horn the MC has The magatama actually goes into your eye i believe
fuck i remember when i still new in this game, and didnt know about girihmekala repel pshycal attack. i keep buffing myself with tarukaja. ended up killing myself with 1 shot Focus + divine shot lul
Great job dude. Friendly heads up though, just cuz you say it like 20 times heh: there's a hard 'T' at the end of "Wing Buffet". The meaning of 'buffet' used here is essentially to strike, or strike repeatedly. Being hit by wings is actually a common example seen in its usage, at least in my personal experience. Not a super common word though, and these games can have some strange attack names, so not all that crazy to accept it for its alternative meaning lol. Just figured you'd appreciate the heads up, especially because you do a great job pronouncing most of the other relatively unusual words SMT harbors heh. Keep up the good work man!
The MC is the only one that cares to listen, I’d say. Also the only time he leaves the safety of the cylinders, he gets beat up, can’t say I blame him for staying inside.
Changes on demons that aren't evolutions have a chance of the demon going beserk or losing essential skills, the route is planned without them for that purpose.
Love how PinkPajamas talked about the story of the game throughout the run. Really made it enjoyable to watch.
Guess you might not like the Persona 4 Golden run then. Since the runner there doesn’t talk very much about the story. Don’t worry though its still a LONG but very fun run
Yeah PinkPajamas is so sweet
@Christian M Bruh I’ve played the game and beaten it multiple times. Not “blaming” any speedrunners for anything. Chill out.
@Christian M did u get covid or something mate? Chilled out
Other speedruns: Never save, it wastes too much time
SMT runs: no u
Imagine not saving and near the final boss you get mamudoed out of existence
The Many Deaths of WillDie
Death 1: 26:00

5:46:10 The rage lol The toss of the control because he has to fight 4 boss fights in a row once more
Shikigami still doing stuff six and a half hours in. The true hero.
I'm sad I had to go to sleep midway through this run and couldn't get more clips live as things were going. But I'm looking forward to seeing this in full.

I'd be happy with 20 hours. 14 is crazy.

It would definitely kill a serious attempt, but marathons keep on trucking.
Such a cool run, this game is hard to play causally even
This game is brutal on NORMAL diffculty. Hard is a nightmare.

46:30 - post grind time.
Cris Turner god's work
I love this runner and his personality
I wish I could’ve seen this live. I caught most of his run this year of DDS and after that I downloaded it again to start playing haha, I freaking love SMT!! I need to play strange journey redux as well
@ Béo
SMT is amazing, dude. The whole series has consumed my life in the past couple years. And I honestly wouldn't have it any other way
Smt SJ Redux is amazing. Hopefully you played through it. I need to do a law playthrough next time since i did chaos
...4:09:24, both the runner and me made the same "Wheeeee!" noise at jumping off the tower again.
This is great, man. Never got past Matador myself, so this is cool to see later parts of the game. And your commentary keeps it interesting, too.
@Anthony Broussard Not true, destroyed him on my first playthrough. Uzume is just too good for that fight. I was surprised that this is the trademark boss people have trouble with
@@crt_head i had everyone in my party void force bc i knew what was coming, low key still hard even when i knew what to do 😂

you guys are amazing for having kept up with this
So this game finally shows up on a marathon awesome.
I'm an hour forty in and hooked, this is as much fun as playing the game was
great stuff
5:47:20 fuuuuuuuck dude
SMT Bullshit in all it's greatness XD
Dormina -> Eternal rest happened to me in this dungeon and I lost like an hour. And I was being really careful to save too!
Squid Parts
fuck, my heart sank so low :(
The one time you WANT your Charmed party members to hit you, they don't. Typical.
My god, a speedrun of this game actually exsists. I would've never guessed
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne would never take advantage of our innate gullibility!

just have enough members of the right elements n enough magatama
Well if you explore naturally witout guide you Will easily get lost and in the hard mode you can't run so you most likely overlevel
Even if you are slightly under/over levelled it doesn't even matter much.
Levels do very little compared to actual smart playing in these games.

what should i focus increse MA or ST
MA is better early - mid game, ST starts to get better around mid game and definitively gets better end game.
MA is good enough to clear the entire game, but ST gets to be ridiculous later on.
This run got me to buy and play this game on hard exclusively. My only remark is that Daisojou is a dangerous crutch and luck is beyond worthless.

Why does the fella who shows up around the cylinders all the time interact with you more than your freinds
