I started with the Cold Steel games, then played the Crossbell games. I’ve already finished Daybreak and ordered Daybreak II. I’ll be picking this up for sure!
I gotta give @Gamecross credit. Many years ago, I saw a video about how much the channel recommend Trails of Cold Steel. I hadn't heard of it, but it looked like it was right up my alley. Tried the first Cold Steel and was instantly hooked. The series has become my absolute favorite JRPG series by far. There are standalone RPGs or franchises that are disconnected story wise (looking at Final Fantasy) that may be "better" individually (FFVII Rebirth comes to mind), but no SERIES is better than Trails (in my opinion). I call it the ZemuriAvengers.
Sky FC + SC was the most memorable JRPG experience for me! I think the remake is going to be awesome! It might not hit the same way as the original, but it might not have to. FC is good, but SC Is where its at and there are so many moments i cant wait to see remade! A worldwide release is pretty badass I was almost certain Daybreak III would be the first
I just hope this sells well enough to get the remaster for all 3 games in this arc. I’ll definitely pre order this. Possibly the collectors edition if they have one.
If you wanna get physical copies of this. You better do it right away. Cause they always end up pretty pricey later on. All of the collector editions I got, they've all doubled or tripled in price now. Which is crazy. I think I paid about 60 bucks for the Cold Steel 1 and 2. And they were about 200 something bucks for a while. Not sure how much they are now though. But as a collector of the series, I've learned pretty quick to just pre-order them.
I'm just curious if later on down the line if they'll do something like how they pulled everyone from Trials in the Sky, through to Trials of Cold Steel games into Trials into Reverie, if they'd do something similar with Trials through Daybreak and future arcs to follow? And then for the last game of the franchise, pull EVERYONE from the start of Trials in the Sky up through Daybreak and beyond for the last arc of the entire Legend of Heroes series.
@RaifSeverence take that with a grain of salt. They will play by ear. Originally there wasn't going to be a Crossbell arc but they decided to do it. Hell Sky was originally supposed to be one game.
@@cius2112 Not to mention they winged like 90% of all of the Erabonia Arc (Trials of Cold Steel 1-IV). Like they filled in the Erabonia Arc as they worked on that entire arc as they went from game to game which is pretty nuts. Plus, back in 2019 this is what Toshihiro Kondo had to say in an interview regarding the Legend of Heroes series: "Well, regarding the future of the series, Trails of Cold Steel IV ended the Cold Steel sub-series. However, I revealed some time ago before this interview the full world map for this particular world. It turns out that the whole eastern half is pretty much still in shadows. We've hinted at this in places in Trails of the Sky, and so going forward we're going to be exploring that area of the world and its mysteries. It will be different characters and a new story, but it will still be a Legend of Heroes game. Looking at the larger story, I would say that it's about 60% complete. There's still much to be done, and I definitely would like to finish the story of this world while we still have the strength to do it." If you look at the map for Trials Through Daybreak, the whole Calvard Republic region isn't a part of the shodowy Easter Half of the Zemurian Continent. And I mean, look at how much content there was just for the Western side of Zemuria. For all we know, the Eastern side of Zemuria could consist of several smaller nations, kind of like how the East Coast of the U.S. has smaller States when compared to the much larger states of the West Coast which starts from the Central Plains of the United States. So it could end up being something like that, and we know almost practically nothing about the Eastern side of Zemuria.
I might get hate but trails 1 is good but not like that if you ever played ff6 or ff7 it’s like your first go around with those 😅 nonetheless I’m super excited hope to see 3rd chapter and cross bell dualology just because it would be interesting to see how the older 2d games translate to a more modern style
I've never been able to get through Tales 1. I really can't put my finger on why, either. I grew up on the NES/SNES/PS1 RPGs, and I do really like the old school style with some nice pre-rendered graphics, and I love Estelle. I hear the story is great, but maybe I just never got to where it started getting really good?
Everyone has different tastes. I personally enjoy Sky FC/SC over both FF games you mention, even though FFVII was my favorite game in 1997. I just love the Trails world, the NPCs, the atmosphere and color and kind of hope and charm that's hard to find in many games.
Yeah, Trails surpasses Final Fantasy, and this is from a guy who has Cloud Strife tattooed on his back. I started my Trails journey in 2018, and it quickly became my favorite franchise. Sorry, FF, you will always have a place in my heart, but Trails is better for me personally now.
@@kaharakahara I think u mean Sony... Western devs remake things like mass effect trilogy, which no one minds, tomb raider, soul reaver... you sure about that?
Pretty sure Capcom is entirely Japanese aka all the Resident Evil Remakes, and Resident Evil Remakes to come... You know, the Resident Evil which is actually called Biohazard in Japan, but due to copyright reasons had to change the name for their American/Western Release. TBH I'm sick of Resident Evil and the million Remakes they're making.
I *was* so very excited about the Trails in the Sky The 1st remake. Was. Then? Gungho. "sighs" Please no. Why them? Amazon only for standard. = Deleted my Amazon Account. Won't create another. (attempted scams). Not even the takes-almost-a-year Limited Run will have standard editions. Shall hafta think o' something else.
Not a big deal but I wish game cross was as excited about western RPGs as he is Japanese, he goes crazy over trails games but says he couldn't get into bg3, I spent four hours in bg3 and knew it was a once in a generation game, same with elden ring (a very western themed game), there's also games like new arc line, that should be good, oh well
Western rpgs don’t even need exposure. They get sales by existing. Jrpgs are far more niche and require more attention being put on them. How many sales does the average trails game get compared to BG3 or elden? Why would he need to talk about those games? He also is a PlayStation oriented channel so it’s not like he talks about all rpgs, he never talked about Nintendo’s big series like Xenoblade and Fire Emblem for example. “Once in a generation” is pretty absurd as well. Should RGT 85 cover Trails in the sky? Does everyone need to cover everything?
@jairekambui7738 bg3 and elden ring are triple a games by proven studios, I'm just speaking for sake of all gaming audiences, Pathfinder, and or solasta is just as worthy a mention as trails 7, or ys 9 or whatever, I get it though
I started with the Cold Steel games, then played the Crossbell games. I’ve already finished Daybreak and ordered Daybreak II. I’ll be picking this up for sure!
Started at Sky FC, finished at daybreak, and here I wait until February.
This is one of my favorite game series of all time i own all the physical copies
I just started cold steel part 1 the other day, it's great so far been on there a few hours
Good now I can start playing this. I have this weird ocd I need to play the first game before playing the rest of the series

The Trails series is the best JRPG series. Its not close
Correct

I can finally get into this series
In my view it's good to start anywhere are long as it's the start of an arc, loads of people started with the Cold Steel games.
I wonder if they will eventually do the crossbell ark
I believe they will because if this sells well they will bring the other games before the cold steel series to bring them on par graphically.

Doubt it since there are maybe 1 or 2 games left in the series. (This year's Kai no Kiseki was said to put the completion of the story at around 90%)

I really hope they don’t change the script. Scherazard was a pervert, and with that whip.
I have been waiting for the sky trilogy to come out before playing the legend of heroes games and i own all of them besides the 3 sky games.
I’m waiting for your holiday sale psn new video !!!!!

THIS, This is what game companies should remake.
Western devs are so stupid remastering the same shit over and over glazing themselves with awards.
