The Eagles watched tape and wanted to take away the Aiyuk deep cross. So Niners just said, oh well, and took the easier stuff...and won by 23 points.
You are exactly correct. That’s what I was trying to explain to some people. Philly was terrified of getting beat on the long ball, like that throw to IU against the Seahawks. So they were soft underneath, and Shanahan‘s game plan was to take advantage of that. All the yards after carry were a huge plus.
Shanahan had his 1st quarter script. Once he adjusted to Philly's D and Purdy settled in, they carved them up. Eagles respected that deep ball from Purdy and so we feasted underneath with that YAC. A lot of talking heads don't appreciate the game plan.
Absolutely correct. I will say I had hoped Jimmy would have worked out, but the biggest difference that Purdy brings is his football IQ is amazing & field perception. He can go through all his options without panic, he stays calm and his field perception is off the charts. I saw his calmness immediately when he first started and instantly he reminded me of the GOAT. Joe Montana had that same calmness in the pocket and could see the field like no other, not saying he's the next Montana but he's the same style pocket QB. I haven't loved a QB in San Fran this much since Montana...almost as much as Montana.😁
the adjustment was the most important thing coming into the second half. they weren't gaining any yards in the 1st quarter so it became a short throw situation with pressure still in purdys face and he did it so effortlessly. purdy being able to complete the intermediate, long and short throws is what is so impressive.

It was the safest way to make that throw to be sure he scored. Sure aiyuk had to dive for it but he was the only one who would touch it and aiyuk better make that catch! He’s all pro
Agree that he put it in a spot where only BA could catch it, but there was plenty of room to keep it away from the DB and still make it an easier catch. Down and away was unnecessarily cautious on what amounts to a pitch and catch and would have been 4th down if BA doesn't lay out for an incredible grab.
Agreed. 94 quickly recovered from the misdirection and was in a good position which seemed to surprise Brock a bit, so he adjusted as well and threw it wider than he really wanted to. Really, he put it in the only place he could have to give BA a chance on it and not have the ball tipped or picked.

Great stuff Chase 👍really helps us laymen understand more the how's and whys Purdy and these Niners are having such success This was an awesome breakdown, especially for any Niner fan😎😎
There is idiots out there now trying to say that Purdys throwing arm did not get injured. That it was his left arm instead. This is a perfect example of people not watching games and talking out of the side of their necks. I have heard people spread a lot of false things about Purdy. Saying he hurt his left arm and not his right throwing arm is just a desperate stab at Purdy when they can't come up with anything else. Just imagine how much more Purdys MVP lead would be now if he didnt sit out all those 4th quarters during games this season. Lets talk more about that!
Great breakdowns and love the fact that you’ve always have supported Brock hopefully he can continue to prove people wrong but I think it will take a ring or 2 to do that
Great breakdown, as usual. I love the “young buck” comment. As for Aiyuk’s TD, I really didn’t think it was that bad of a throw. I slowed it down to see how close that defender was and with the angle and the way Purdy was running, I think he just really wanted to give it some room so he could get it around the defender. Maybe he could have put some air under it, but something about that doesn’t look right. He trusts his ridiculously long-armed #1 receiver immensely.
11:31 yo @chase you can see at this time stamp, there were two defenders flowing left when he sets up to throw. He has to get it over the first guy and out of reach of the second. Where else could he place it, besides back of the end zone?
Picking Dak over Purdy for Mvp does not make sense- Dak built stats against weak teams while Purdy crushed strong teams. Now the schedule is reversed and Purdy will run away with the Mvp- as long as he stays healthy. I do think Purdy takes too many hits, that's the big worry with him. Purdy crushed Dak head to head. Purdy is simply much better- people are still punishing him for his draft position.
Eagles played a blend of Cover 2 and have a relentless pass-rush. The last thing you’d want a QB doing is holding onto the ball a d trying to force deep throws. Be patient and take what the defense gives you. Why all the skepticism and hate?
In the end, all that matters is that you get the W. It’s almost like people forget it’s a team sport and get all worked up about QB stats. Awesome breakdown.
It was going to be a different game, and it was evident in the first quarter. The Eagles - all year had been known as a fourth down team, yet on the first 2 drives went for 3. The only 4th down offensive play in the game was a huge play for the niners. The niners stop the run - that's what they do. They dictate which game you will play. They are that good.
Really cool stuff!! I don’t know how anyone can’t say the offense is more explosive because of Brock Purdy’s play. Besides those 3 losses they’ve scored over 30+ a game …. this wasn’t happening with Jimmy G. Purdy never seems to make the same mistake twice. He’s running the offense like a 6 year vet. Who else in the run for MVP was playing like he is their second year in the league at QB!!?
Purdy is EASILY MVP right now. We all saw how that NFC Championship in January played out with him missing. As good as y people think any of these skills positions guys are..the QB needs to play at the correct level for them to put up big points. Purdy outplayed Dak back in week 5 in a blowout and that HAS to count for something in any sort of comparisons ( there shouldn't be any given how soft DAL's schedule is compared to SF)...his YAC % is league average despite the narratives people put out there. Previous MVP winners like 2018 Mahomes, 2016 Ryan, 2010 Brady, 2007 Brady, Warner to mention a few also played on possibly even more stacked offenses and put up big stats like Purdy is doing now.... The kid should not be robbed if he keeps this up
On that "missed" deep ball to Deebo. Just my opinion, it looks to me like a timing issue. Not sure if Brock is told to let it rip if there is a little space to get that ball to Aiyuk OR the clock was ticking in his head to just get the ball out. I would love to hear the discussion between Brock and the coaches after that one. DB, I think, did a good job selling like he was covering deep.
It was a comprehensive butt whoopin for sure. Purdy versus the Cowboys and Eagles this season: 70.5% completion pct. 8 TDs 0 INTs 566 yards passing Those are incredible numbers against ANYBODY, let alone the team with the best record in the league, and one of the hottest teams in the NFL
I'm not a pro quarterback, but i thought the pass to ayuk was an excellent throw. There's an angle that shows he has to throw it over a jumping defender in his have but with enough velocity that it wouldn't hang and get picked off. Pretty much the only place that ball could go for ayuk to make a. play.
You can see if he didn’t put that ball where he did on the aiyuk td the ball gets tipped and possibly picked off to me that’s a heads up throw having trust aiyuk will catch it like any good receiver should
I disagree about the first TD. He threw it where he had to. The defender in front of him put his hand up. That could have been tripped and picked off IMO. He threw it where only Aiyuk could get it.
The reason why he didn’t throw 20+ yard routes is because that Eagles defense middle of field and out routes were getting lit up all game. It’s like the Eagles DC WANTED to lose. I didn’t get it. How do you not adjust?!?!!
SIX straight td drives 😂😂😂 Goooooooo Niners ❤❤❤❤ Brock is doing pretty well for a so called system qb...... The system only works as well as it is executed by the qb and team ❤❤❤❤ Mr Irrelevant is Mr Results now...A winner and leader ❤❤❤
As good as our team is..none of this is possible without Big Cock Brock Prudy..I'm glad people starting to see this.. people that watch film of him can see he anticipate throws almost like I have never seen before.. throwing ball 15 yards before BA makes.cut.to.break.out 15 yards to spot.. I mean he's a baller
21:58 I absolutely did think he was gonna score there, the D line just set FOUR offensive linemen and a tight end free to block the secondary. That was an absolute jailbreak, huge wall of big boys out there that the DB types want no part of. That's a big issue with having all of your D linemen ONLY try to shoot gaps. They shoot right through and are taken completely out of the play instantly. If there was a single D tackle who was told to occupy one or two blockers in the middle, that would not have gone to the house. As it was though, not super surprising because you can't really let an offense create a wall like that down the field and expect not to be gashed. Another big factor was McCaffrey REALLY selling the fake flat dump off on the other side, you can see two defenders go with him and his 'blocker' and they never got back into the play. So in the end it was four offensive linemen, plus Juice and Kittle, against only four DBs. They better win in that situation! Siriani was badly outcoached in this game.
41 got stomped on all game lol. Most of the explosives were him blowing coverage. The flat to kittle, the wheel to cmc, deebos underneath crosser. I wonder if he'll start next week
The 49ers didn't convert the first two 3rd downs in that first quarter, after that they had one more they didn't but they converted on 4th down. They basically scored TDs on every possession the rest of the way, six times, until they kneeled down to end the game.
The offensive gets a lot credit, but think the defensive did an excellent work too like Thomas disrupted 2-3 potential TDs for the Eagles, scores might have been closer or a loss.
I love how much credit chase actually gives to brock Purdy. Idk why these talking heads don’t want to give him credit. Even nfl fans don’t like the idea that a 23 year old 7th round pick is balling out
They were playing 2 high because of how WELL Purdy's been throwing the ball deep. They go high you go low. They play short, you play long. Purdy is a beast.
From a defensive viewpoint:- Play #1: #33 bit too hard on the motion. His job was to play underneath the lone receiver and he was just too slow getting out there. Play #2: You liked this coverage but I didn't. As someone who is a fan of giving a man look and switching to MOD (box) coverage after the snap, this is right up my alley but it was played in a way that put the corner in a difficult position, unable to get tight to either wide receiver and once again #33 was way too slow in understanding what was going on and getting out to his man, the short outside receiver. Play #3: Again I don't really get this coverage call. The Eagles effectively have 3 men covering a lone receiver on the right side leaving them 3 v 3 on the left. It looks like #41 is playing man on the RB off the snap, so who is really supposed to have Kittel is just a complete mystery. Maybe the DC expected him to stay in to block the blitz? Or just a blown responsibility? Honestly no idea. Play #4: I thought the defence on this play was pretty good and it should have been stopped at the LOS but #33 whiffed on the tackle. Play #5: Good defence again except for #32 who never once looks at his man despite being, in effect, on a 1v1 island. If he doesn't stop for no reason, Purdy just throws it away. Play #6: Here #53 just bot on the play-action too hard. That's understandable given how much a D has to respect the 9er run game. Maybe the safety needs to step up more quickly but that leaves both corners on islands, so it's also a risk. Play #7: Another blitz where the Eagles completely forget about the TE. More or less all 4 receivers are open on this, which is about as poor as a secondary can do. Arguably, Purdy made the most difficult completion of the four. Play #9: Good defence. Great completion. Play #10: I think the safety is just too deep on this play meaning that #41 has to wait too long before handing his man off. The Eagles LBs, and Morrow in particular, had a bit of a rough game but here I blame the defensive concept (or at least its implementation) rather than the player. Defence is already tough but it's even tougher when you are essentially playing with 10 men and a cheerleader. Play #11: Not much to discuss here on defensive concepts; it's Cover 0 and the hot receiver got open in time. Feels a bit like desperation from the DC. Play #12: First of all, a 20 yard pass to the LOS seems like a really strange play call given the state of the game but maybe that's why KS gets the big bucks. The score is for me on the D Line here. Their job is to create a wall to take away the cut back (W gap) but all of them go directly to the ball rather than coming back at a 45-ish degree angle. That's just poor technique. Overall, I think the Eagles DC needs to realise that his LBs are just not good enough in coverage to play straight up man and I think he needs to be a little more aggressive with his FS in Cover 1 and Cover 3 concepts because that area of the field was constantly soft. Finally, I think a lot of teams will look at this tape and wonder about the Eagles TE coverage schemes, particularly on delayed release routes. If I am Brian Schottenheimer, I am thinking to make Ferguson a star part of my offense on Monday.
On that first td from purdy to aiyuk I also thought was a shaky pass but then I got to thinking what if the INTs are still on his mind, I mean I wouldn't blame him if they were on his mind & with that said I think he purposely threw it the way he did to avoid it getting swatted or worse. He had that awareness, enough accuracy to put it out the defenders reach but not so much so that aiyuk couldn't get it & trusting thay aiyuk could. Idk it's all speculation but if that's what was going thru purdys mind then I think it actually makes that play all the more impressive
In the last, Jimmy would collapse at crucial times. Down 6 at Philly, he would’ve taken a sack, thrown an interception or both. That changes everything. Purdy has a much higher QB IQ, and is more confident and accurate. Major difference.
12:30 - Please watch the 3 minute clip "Tom Brady Stole Plays From Peyton Manning & used them against him". There is a reason for it, and if Peyton Manning & Tom Brady like it, then I don't know what you could possibly not like about it. Especially when Tom was so excited to start using it.
If it was so easy, there wouldn’t be 15-20 teams in the league desperate to find their franchise QB. Jimmy G was an okay QB. Contrast the 49ers’ offensive production with Purdy at the helm vs Jimmy G, and it’s clear how large a gap there is between good and very good/great.
This was 100% a designed play to Kittle to take advantage of an over pursuing reddick 6:15 there was a similar look that went to deebo for the tuddy. Reddick was definitely targeted this game.
I loved how Blankenship kept getting burned, torched, run over and pancaked all day. That Ronnie Bell flapjack block on Deebo's second score was choice. Then he got up throwing his arms in the air whining that he'd been held. He was humiliated is more like it.
That first TD that Dline dude caused that throw to almost not be good. I have to say that is the reason is was not a good throw, but still catchable by a damn good WR!

and after his experience in Cleveland, i can understand his apprehension with the long ball in this game. AND I AM FINE WITH THAT.
Great stuff Chase 👍really helps us laymen understand more the how's and whys Purdy and these Niners are having such success
This was an awesome breakdown, especially for any Niner fan😎😎

Right on for your content! DEEBO WAS LIKE A TURBO
The throw to Aiyuk for the first TD, had to be thrown like that so Sweat didn't get a hand on it.
This was some of the best analysis I’ve seen…
You are the only man openly declaring Brock for mvp!!! And I love it!!! The rest of the media won’t let it out their mouths
Great breakdowns and love the fact that you’ve always have supported Brock hopefully he can continue to prove people wrong but I think it will take a ring or 2 to do that
8/11 on 3rd down when you start 0/2 on 3rd down is insane.
We are so fortunate to have Purdy on the 49ers. He's a perfect match for Shanahan's offence.
He has to get it over the first guy and out of reach of
the second. Where else could he place it, besides back of the end zone?
When you can humble the best team (former best team) in the NFL on their own home field, that's next level powerhouse football!
Excellent breakdown!!!
Appreciate it!
Love the video Chase!
Purdy running to the left and broke that tackle like was fire
Eagles played a blend of Cover 2 and have a relentless pass-rush. The last thing you’d want a QB doing is holding onto the ball a d trying to force deep throws. Be patient and take what the defense gives you. Why all the skepticism and hate?
In the end, all that matters is that you get the W. It’s almost like people forget it’s a team sport and get all worked up about QB stats. Awesome breakdown.
“I thought what I thought… in the game” lmfao bro’s a natural comedian I love it 🤣🤣🤣
Their quest for SIX just happened. All in a row 😂
So much better analysis than that other qb channel.
20:35 Watch Ronnie Bell (WR #10) schwack and stack Reed Blankenship (S #32) to spring Deebo for the TD. Dumps him and then sits on him. LOVE IT!
“We didn’t ask him to do much, just but he did what we needed”
Walsh to Montana
I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, PURDY FOR MVP!!!!
The kid should not be robbed if he keeps this up
Best system qb in any system because of how smart and skilled he is to execute
Boom! “Total and complete butt whooping!”-Chase Daniels
Subscribed. NINERS FOR LIFE!!!
What I noticed is Purdy had multiple guys open on the same play and Purdy goes to the deeper option which just shows ideal qb play
Great content!
Great breakdown man.
It was a comprehensive butt whoopin for sure. Purdy versus the Cowboys and Eagles this season:
70.5% completion pct.
8 TDs
0 INTs
566 yards passing
Those are incredible numbers against ANYBODY, let alone the team with the best record in the league, and one of the hottest teams in the NFL
I'm not a pro quarterback, but i thought the pass to ayuk was an excellent throw. There's an angle that shows he has to throw it over a jumping defender in his have but with enough velocity that it wouldn't hang and get picked off. Pretty much the only place that ball could go for ayuk to make a. play.
Brock Purdy saved John lynch job. John lynch you better get your qb a great Christmas gift
9:25, Purdy got cake. You can tell he's been doing leg workouts when his arm was messed up.
I've Been Waiting On Your Reaction Chase! #BaNgBaNgNiNerGaNg
Christian McCaffery, Brock Purdy, Miles Garrett, Jalen Hertz, Dak, and Mahomes should probably be in the MVP running right now.
The reason why he didn’t throw 20+ yard routes is because that Eagles defense middle of field and out routes were getting lit up all game. It’s like the Eagles DC WANTED to lose. I didn’t get it. How do you not adjust?!?!!
He throws where the ball needs to be
6 straight
Shuddup
@@FRAKKKApretty sure he was saying 6 straight TD drives, not 5 like is stated in the video
SIX straight td drives 😂😂😂
Goooooooo Niners ❤❤❤❤
Brock is doing pretty well for a so called system qb......
The system only works as well as it is executed by the qb and team ❤❤❤❤
Mr Irrelevant is Mr Results now...A winner and leader ❤❤❤
With so many talented hungry offensive weapons the only issue is who to feed next.
The West Coast Offense !!!
Purdy is league MVP, just on his stats alone. But his story is what makes it even better.
Funny watching people criticize Brock. They just run out of material. "He wears a hat backwards!"
4 of the 6 TDs were untouched running it in‼️

The offensive gets a lot credit, but think the defensive did an excellent work too like Thomas disrupted 2-3 potential TDs for the Eagles, scores might have been closer or a loss.
I love how much credit chase actually gives to brock Purdy. Idk why these talking heads don’t want to give him credit. Even nfl fans don’t like the idea that a 23 year old 7th round pick is balling out
They were playing 2 high because of how WELL Purdy's been throwing the ball deep. They go high you go low. They play short, you play long. Purdy is a beast.
You get access to more footage than the average person?
From a defensive viewpoint:-
Play #1: #33 bit too hard on the motion.
Purdy makes it easy for the o-line, since he gets the ball out so dammed fast. Unlike Hurts, who takes 6 to 10 seconds.
21% of BP's throws went for TDs in this game!! That's pretty good!! Jalen's was only at 4%!!
That play to Deebo where he broke for a TD was his 4th read on that progression. He wasn't going to him the entire time.
That first TD that Dline dude caused that throw to almost not be good. I have to say that is the reason is was not a good throw, but still catchable by a damn good WR!
THE Chase Daniel of the Iowa Hawkeyes?
Missouri Tigers 2007 big 12 player of the year. Ima Iowa State Cyclones fan lol
any idea on what accounts for Chargers crap season?
