Thanks! My final gripe (before making the jump) was the supposed dependency of a PC laptop for installment. Your tutorial was flawless and to the point. 👍
I'm not a tech savy person, almost computer illiterate and yet with your guidance with this video I was able to install graphene os quite easily. Thank you so much for taking the time to do these video's.
Thank you so much for this. I'd been mucking about on ubuntu for a couple of days trying to get the android studio and sdk drivers to work and found I could not. This was a lifesaver, thank you!
Seems you have graphene os installed on the pixel 4a as well 🤔 since you opened the web installer from a vanadium browser and the icons in pixel 4a are grey - it must be graphene os. My concern is that I have a samsung phone where Google's chrome is the browser. Will the graphene os installation work fine from a chrome android browser as well?
Yes. According to grapheneos.org/install/web the following browsers are supported: Officially supported browsers for the web install method: Chromium (outside Ubuntu, since they ship a broken Snap package without working WebUSB) Vanadium (GrapheneOS) Google Chrome Microsoft Edge Brave (with Brave Shields disabled, since it caps storage usage at a low value to avoid fingerprinting available storage)
This is often the best method. I kept having issues installing Lineage with both PopOS and Windows. Regardless of the browser I used. However once i did it using my Note 9, it went relatively easy. The only downside is having to repeatedly grant access
I currently tried to download graphing OS from a Mac laptop to my pixel 7 pro but for some reason it's not working properlate my phone will. Not register on the laptop. I've tried the original cable that came with the phone and also a different one still no Bueno.
With some pixel phones, especially the 4a and 4a5G I have had it happen where the flashing process won't start until I unplug and then immediately replug in the USB cable. That makes the flashing process start and everything seemed to work well after that.
Is it necessary to unlock the bootloader via the new phone? It looks to me that you can use the installation software to do that. Also I'm wondering with a new pixel phone does it have to be setup with Google operating system before installing graphene. I like the idea of installing graphene immediately after pushing the on button the first time. Thanks for informative video.
Not sure what you mean about the bootloader. It has to be unlocked, otherwise you can't load GrapheneOS. You need to start the phone with the built-in Google OS and enable OEM unlocking, then reboot and start installation.
so I have a samsung s10 with a hidden OEM and I have tried but can't unhide it. Any help trying to install an alternative OS would be greatly appretiated!
Do you know how to make fido key work on GOS? I'm getting webauthin not available error on all the browsers. Play services are enabled and given storage scope permissions.
wow I tried to do this more than a dozen times with my laptop and was just about to sell the phone on because I could not get it to install no matter how much I tried, came across this video and it was the easiest thing to do ever, phone ad deleted, thanks..
The one thing I would like to see graphing OS is have a option to hide your caller ID like what iOS or android has and I know most phones don’t have this option on their settings
Can I install an older version of GrapheneOS on a Samsung Galaxy S4? I understand that they no longer support that phone - that's fine. I just want to tinker with GrapheneOS for a while before purchasing a Pixel phone, which I am not too keen on.
Does installing on a locked phone unlock it? I don't mean a password locked phone, I mean a phone that's supposed to only work with a certain company. After installation, can I take it to any other phone company as long as the phones supports it's bands? Example: A MetroPCS with GrapheneOS to Cricket wireless.
You should avoid anything MetroPCS, Verizon, Straight Talk, Family Mobile, or Cricket like the scourge. Those providers are the absolute _worst_ to buy a phone from. It's insane trying to get them to give you any control over your device. Most times they just won't. Even if you buy it up front. Realistically branded phones in general are pretty bad unless they've been completely unlocked. Your best bet is to just find a Pixel phone that states OEM unlocked on Ebay.
I've only tried with Pixel phones, but grapheneos.org/install/web says that "Officially supported operating systems for the web install method:... Google Android (stock Pixel OS) and other certified Android variants" which makes it sound like any normal Android should work. I might be wrong, but that's how I read it.
You say in your title "GrapheneOS install with another Android device - No Computer needed! Tutorial" BUT we all know that graphine OS mainly can be installed on pixel like your phone in this is installing on...... when you say another android... I thought you meant like samsung or something.... very misleading.

I don't understand the cord you're using to both phones... what kind of cord do I get to go connect with a samsung phone and pixel 8???
Hello tim. I have moto e13 with 8gb ram unisoc t606 cpu. How can i install graphene os? Please shsre yojr knowledge
The other methods of downloading GrapheneOS was not working for me.. this worked. Thanks for the video.
I'm glad it worked for you
Me neither, I could enable OEM but when it came to unlocking the bootloader it kept saying that it couldn't connect to the phone 😢
When i tried to obtain factory images i got an Error: undefined in red. what did i do wrong?

Can I install it on my pixel 7 using my old Nord 200
is it possible to do install stock os with this method?
That makes it so much easier, thanks
Happy to help

Would you know how to get wired headphones to work??
Brilliant walkthrough, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I got it to work... but just before the graphene OS there was a flash of google os?
Yep. Can't remove that unfortunately
can I use a galaxy and chrome to install it on my pixel 6? my windows 10 doesn't recognize my pixel 6
Yes, as far as I know,
So I tried to install graphene OS with another phone and now I cannot lock the bootloader
Use a PC to lock it.
so I have a samsung s10 with a hidden OEM and I have tried but can't unhide it. Any help trying to install an alternative OS would be greatly appretiated!
As far as I know Samsung has hidden the OEM unlock in models sold in the US and probably elsewhere too.
What Is i cant enable oem unlocking, my pixel 6 Is unlock but i cant unlock oem why? Can i still go thru the process
The phone has to be connected to the internet in order to enable OEM unlocking.
Do you know how to make fido key work on GOS? I'm getting webauthin not available error on all the browsers. Play services are enabled and given storage scope permissions.
I don't, but maybe someone else does
@@privacyproshop Ngl this option is cool, make a vid on simplex

Yeah I know a lot of phones don’t have that feature from most part of the world but hide your caller ID would be very useful for Graphing OS

nope. GrapheneOS only supports Google Pixel phones. However, you might be able to install an older version of LineageOS to that Old Galaxy S4
How to enable grayed oem unlock on Google pixel 6 pro
Make sure the phone is connected to the internet. That's kinda creepy if you ask me... Go to some public wifi or VPN to enable it.
But what dose it do though ?
GrapheneOS is an alternative operating system for a phone
It's a degoogled operating system

Nope. The ones that are locked to a certain company don't allow OEM Unlocking. You need to get a Pixel Phone that is an unlocked model.

That's will be safe and work in realme any device?
Sorry, I don't understand your question.
GrapheneOS doesn't support Fakeme phones. But a Pixel smartphone.
any way back if needed?
I think so. Check out Grapheneos.org
