Thank you so much for the awesome and straightforward tutorial! You taught me a lot about my new OS on my phone :)

Great tutorial vid, hopefully an updated version of this is planned, it seems with the latest Graphene that many things have changed, be they additions/removals or change of location for certain options.

Thank you, great video! This type of graphene setup and operation information is lacking in the security space.
I noticed in particular that the turn off wifi automatically setting is only available in the owner profile. Does this follow through yo thebother profiles or is it just not available? Also, do you have to go through every profile and set everyone of these settinggs for each?

Glad you enjoyed the content! There are certain settings that are “global” settings that carry over from the owner profile through all other profiles. Turn off Wi-Fi automatically is one of them. So if my setting in the owner profile is to turn off Wi-Fi in 1 minute, this carries over to all other profiles. The setting is also locked by the owner profile. Meaning that the option to change the Wi-Fi auto off setting is not found in the other profiles…but it will still turn off because it is controlled by the global setting of the owner profile.
Same for Bluetooth auto off, private dns, and much more. These are not adjustable in other profiles because it is controlled globally by the owner profile.
      Hope this helps!

Seems like a lot of settings that graphineos shouldnjust have off by default. We are already opting into security and imho privacy by default. Graphineos default settings should reflect that more

most security conscious people would go through the settings anyway + everything depends on your threat model

GrapheneOS is meant for u to have a choice at what u restrict, this is why stuff is disabled by default. If u choose to restrict something, u simply enable the restrictions.

I don't really see the point of ensuring the mic and camera are always off when using such a secure and private os like graphene. Seems unnecessary imo. I tried doing it but it's just annoying have to turn them back on everytime i need to use either

I just installed fresh Graphene OS through Webinstall and I don't see Turn off WiFi automatically option at all. Do I miss anything? EDIT: Found it. It's under Security & Privacy -> Exploit protection

Is it possible to delete some profiles when a given pin is entered?
I know Wasted can wipe the phone, but that is a little sus. If I can delete only some profiles, it would be good.

If you have no VPN and have to connect to untrusted wi-fi, are there settings/features on grapheneos that can protect you?

      1. Swipe down to open quick settings.
      2. Swipe down another time.
In the bottom row appears a user icon.
      3. Click user icon to switch ...

Just started watching... can GrapheneOS prevent google from tracking the IMEI number of the cell?

    • @bottomfraggtoni5669
      @bottomfraggtoni5669 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Sandboxed play services can not see the IMEI, like any other app. GrapheneOS simply doesn't provide that information to it. (That doesn't mean your carrier can't see the IMEI.)
