  • Last month I posted a video "4 killer serves to destroy your opponents", featuring service expert Craig Bryant. You can see the video here: • 4 killer serves to des...
    I got several requests asking how you can return these serves. Luckily, I just about had enough footage of myself returning each serve (at least once!), so I have put together this new video.
    So in the video, I explain how to return Craig's serves, including...
    - The kicker
    - Fast down the line
    - Super wide sidespin
    - The ghost serve
    My tips and demonstrations will give you a good idea on how to return each serve (if you can read which serve it is in the first place!).

    The server's hand/racket motion on the kicker makes it very difficult to read. It looks like it could be underspin. How the heck do you read it? I contend that if you're trying to read it from the bounce, you're already too late. I lose all the time to players who can't loop, hit or block nearly as well as I can, simply because I can't read their serves. Very frustrating.

    Great video 👍....it will be very nice if you can guide on returning a fast topspin to the body.....I do a block return but my opponent generally smashes or flicks it....so I am curious to know the right way to return this.... thanks 🙂😊

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ooh, this is a tough one. If your blocked returned gets attacked, you need to be a bit more aggressive. You should try driving or topspinning the serve, so it will be returned faster. You should also try and return the ball to either corner or your opponent's elbow. This will make it harder for the server to attack.

  • @foxesruler
    @foxesruler 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tom, how to defend a high bouncing ball with backhand? On the forehand side I can smash it, but backhand just drive back flat. Can you smash with the back hand?

    • @TomLodziak
      @TomLodziak  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me, if the ball is high, I try to step around and smash it with my forehand. It's very difficult to do this with your backhand. If the ball is high, you should have time to move into a forehand position.
