its still down to reads above anything else in this game
its one thing to say you can go to grand champ with no mechs but most people forget to say that the people doing that reads the game so far ahead of time because they vividly understand the games physics and can ready the ball and bounces even touches ahead of other players in that rank
any high rank will easily 0 mech on other players as they understand the game to a much greater degree and show great car control even in floor play as wel as when to touch when to shoot when to what ever
people whom are lower level shouldn't think about mechs but to focus on learning game physics understanding how interactions with ball works and how bounces react especially with ball spin and how to touch the ball with hard touches to reduce spin for doubles etc
there is so much more to this game that the mechs essentially its about reads.
