This is precisely why your channel is top notch. We don't get as many videos anymore but they always seem to tickle my fancy. There have been so many games I've discovered through your channel and this one looks like a delight. Thanks to you and your gauntlets.
I really respect you using 3 different pronunciations for "Nobeta" as if to acknowledge that no one really knows how it's pronounced in English. Great new video as always. Thanks Tark!
Some specific points aside, yeah, I very much agree overall. Despite all their perceivable issues, these types of games just have a particular charm to them. One that I very much appreciate and continue to seek out. They are never going to be for everyone and will forever remain a niche. But there usually will still be an audience, no matter how small, that connects with that charm nontheless. The devs do seem to genuinely and passionately care about this little world they created. I went through some supplementary material, like the 4-koma bits and even the comics, and it all better fleshes out the characters with fun little interactions. Didn't expect to see a sassy Nobeta for example, that was for sure. Not to mention the backstories and additional world-building. A shame so much of this wasn't actually in the game proper. And looking as the Steam page, they seem to still be planning to continue updating it. Even all this time after it's released. Heck, the likely reason that one boss you mentioned, the one with the sudden difficulty spike, was like that seemed to be cause that was the final boss for the initial version. The entire second half of the game after that boss apparently was added overtime. Also, Thunder was my gamebreaker. Once I got it, there just was no struggle whatsoever for the rest of the game. It's so busted once you get enough MP for it.
Great game. Fun, frantic combat, exploration, puzzle solving, cute characters and just right in difficulty and length. I hope Nobeta gets a nendoroid figure.
I used the ice spell a ton due to it being super strong but the moment i got the Lightning spell that became my main bread and butter for the rest of the game Yeah the first half is definitely more challenging due to the lack of tools/stats PC version has lewd mods if anyone is interested
Task gauntlet, been a fan of you for years now. TH-cam hasn't suggested your videos for me for almost a year. I always have to type you in. However please continue making content, because I love you and your content
In fairness to TH-cam, for once, I did go 250 days without an upload lol. So there might not've been much to suggest to people. Thanks for sticking around though!
The good thing about this Game is it even runs decent on a Shitty Laptop with an i3 7th gen u processor, the game still runs mostly at 60fps. So I can Play it home on my main PC that has of course a RTX3070, and on the go or on my Workplace during breaks on my laptop.
Not sure if you still remember me, but i've been silently supporting your content for the past 5 years, if you do remember me i'd like to let you know i am full time employed and doing well, i'm glad to see you have kept making content and have moved up in the youtube scene, i still remember back when i met you in a BotW stream. I'd like to thank you for putting up with my bullshit for years and thanls for the content. i wish the best for you, your channel, your marriage and your future. Thanks Tarks!
I still have a Jpeg of the Minecraft sculpture you made of me. That was shitting itself. Of course I remember you dude. Fun times back then. Glad to hear you're doing well man.
This is not at ALL what I expected Nobeta to be lmao. I’m normally instinctively averse to playing a Souls-like, but this actually looks like it’d be pretty fun for me! Also didn’t know about the Hololive cast! That’s pretty cool, IMO
Little Witch Nobeta kinda gave me that same charm I felt when I played Poison Control. Another quirky third person shooter that is highly recommended to anyone that dug this game. Doesn’t get enough love.
My wife bought me poison control sometime last year and I've been really hesitant to start it. Just never heard many good things. But this may have been the perspective I've been needing to move it up in my "to play" list.
@@TarksGauntlet For what it's worth, I'd recommend it. It's an interestingly odd game to say the least. Almost like if you took a spiritual sequel to "Penny Punching Princess"/"Princess Guide" and combined it with the overall concept of "Criminal Girls"...all as a third person shooter mixed with dots-and-boxes. It's a lotta things. If nothing else, the OST is pretty nice. Quite vaporwave at times surprisingly.
After my first video discussing this game I was corrected by a Japanese friend that it's Noh-Bay-tah. Which I tried to keep consistent here but messed up 200 times anyway. I think it was safe to say I actually just have no clue what's right.
Hmm... if they're giving out PS4 copies for review, I'm suddenly very concerned for the performance of my Switch copy. I see now that some reviews are saying that the performance is pretty bad. There was even a game breaking bug exclusive to the Switch.
I don't know anything about that but there's a reason why the switch is often my last platform of choice. It's all too common for issues like that to be there and nowhere else. That said, review copies were given out for switch as well and I was offered the choice of platform. I hadn't heard anything myself about the switch one having issues but I also just haven't heard many people talk about it.
@Tarks Gauntlet makes way more sense. Didn't think it was like you to get political. I just have conspiracies on the brain and I'm bad with different accents. Great video start to finished. Will check out the unboxing now too.
@@hellblazerjj In fairness, I sometimes say wild things that make little sense cause it's funny to me, and part of me wishes I found a way to say "vaxxed turtle."
There's a simple mode and an advanced mode. I played on advanced. The easy/simple mode removes certain mechanics. Sorry, should have mentioned this in the review but I guess the only times I thought of it was when I wasn't writing.

If you go by Japanese spelling it's NOH-beh-taw.

This is exactly the kind of stuff that I loved in Vita and PSP, and I'm glad we're still getting em on modern platforms
Great game. Fun, frantic combat, exploration, puzzle solving, cute characters and just right in difficulty and length. I hope Nobeta gets a nendoroid figure.
anyone who plays this, please don't forget to watch/read the audio mangas for this, they're so good!
I read the thumbnail as "...that's Bad!"
I was told this might happen lol. I suppose having it in red also doesn't help. Maybe a change is in order.
Love your content, hope your channel "explodes" soon, you deserve it man

Is the game good? What is another soulslike of equal quality? I wanna buy it, but physically, and it’s $50.00 so wanna make sure it’s worth it
I've seen this game make its rounds on social media, but never really looked into it. Great video man!

Just ordered the game so this review puts me at ease. Nice job.

Very nice review, dude! As someone who owns and loves his Vita, likes anime and quirky games, this one looks very interesting.

Nobeta is cute and funny and thats all i wanted from it
Thanks for the coverage sir 🤘
you had me at Vita...... hahaha! Class review man!
Lol cutest souls like never thought I'd hear that one 😅 but this looks interesting I might try it out
Ive missed these reviews

NOH-beh-taw and the pronunciation was the best i heard of all the videos i saw thismorning.

So, do you finish Xenoblade Chronicles 3 with DLC Tark? Because the New DLC Story Future Redeemed is coming at 4-25-2023.
I bought it just because 4 hololive members voiced characters in there as you said. Not my type of game but had to buy it for that reason alone.
I'm looking forward to starting this game. It'll probably be my next after I'm done with Hollow Knight.
Game looks really cool. Thanks for thjs
Ooooh lala rule with an iron fist
No way was this game actually a souls like 😂 great video.
P.s. Are there any untranslated Vita games you wish were translated
Gothic release date. Jagged alliance 3. More desperados. Darksiders 4
Hey Tark, have you heard about Final Fantasy XVI because it is coming on June 22 2023.

"backed turtle" lol. As in a turtle on its back.
