I was introduce to Buffy's voice and songs in 1971. This song is one of her best ... for me,so much memories ... 2024 it s the same emotion ❤❤ . Thanks a lot Buffy I love you. 🎉❤
I have loved her voice since I was introduced to her in teens. This song still gives me goosebumps and I am now 71. Magnificent. I wish I could see her perform live.
@@bradhuskers I respect your opinion but I have to disagree. This is the way the song was meant to be preform. Elvis is brilliant, yes, but his version just feels like a cover. @Nat Wolf You sound very poorly educated. Elvis's interpretation is light years better than hers. He conveyed an angst with his warm resonant tone. Elvis's studio recording has an authenticity that her recording lacks. But again, your low IQ prevents you from getting that.
I met Buffy last week at a free concert in a museum in NYC. I was electrified by being in her presence, to say I was stunned is an understatement. She transcends everything else that surrounds her- Thank goodness she is still performing ! Very moving song, i had never heard it before but it will certaintly have a place in my heart from today onwards
Damn how I love this song. And for me no other version of it can come close to touching Buffy singing it. It's mesmerizing and haunting. Gripped my heart when I was a teen and still does.
There is a small handful of songs about which I could say, "This one gets me every time." It is near or at the top of my list. I always listen to this very moving song when I am alone because I think, "This might be the time when I don't hold back. This might be the time when this tough macho guy cries."
There is no one else on the planet like Buffy. I first heard this haunting melody in the early sixties, i think on her 2nd album, and I have loved it ever since. Somehow she reaches places in your heart you did not know were there and this particular song, in it's many versions, certainly accomplishes that magic. To say it is deep does not begin to explain it's attraction. Too bad the world does not champion or appreciate enough one of the true giants of soulful singing. One of the most authentic voices ever recorded.

I remember this intriguing and moving song from the 60s - beautiful and unique. It has a VERY unusual descending chromatic base line that I’ve never heard used in any other song. What that means is that the base line drops down one fret at a time - a clever device that offsets the somewhat repetitive melody line. But fundamentally it is a deeply personal and emotional song that reflects the sense of 60s free-spirit perfectly.
