Braised Duck with Sea Cucumber

Just by the look of it, dried or softened, I admit sea cucumber is something that I will not put in my mouth. It does not have much taste by itself but have a delicate and desired jelly texture when cooked. However, when braised with a meat, the sea cucumber can soak up the sauce of the braised meat making it extremely delicious. Besides, sea cucumber is supposed to have many health benefits.
Sea cucumbers can be bought dried or frozen. It takes quite some time to soak, soften and clean the dried form. In this recipe, I purchased the frozen pre-softened sea cucumber to braise with duck.

you need a small rubber-like spatula to scoop out all the ingredients from the container or dash some hot water to incorporate it to the cooking. Amen
