The Hungarian Defence Forces and the Hungarian Police have officially adopted the CZ P-09 and CZ P-07 in 2017 with partial local manufacturing. After 7 years of experience, I can tell that they are solid handguns but with many flaws, some making them inadequate for a service / duty handgun. The guns have QC issues, even those that are made in the Czech Republic. Rusting happens a lot, even straight out of the factory. The quality of the finish varies a lot from batch to batch. The biggest reliability concern is the firing pin retaining pin breaking often, sometimes after as little as few hundred rounds. These lock-up the gun completely. The firing pins themselves break a lot too, equally bad. The slide stop can also tends to break but at least this usually doesn't make the gun inoperable. CZ SP-01 Shadows and CZ Shadow 2s are the most popular in Hungary for sport shooting which is fair, they have a solid price and shoot really well but the same problems appear with these guns as well which leads me to believe that this is an inherent issue of the CZ75 design. Apart from QC / reliability problems, another well-documented user feedback is the slide itself being too small for duty use. As the slide rides inside the frame, the surface for gripping it is just too small with the serrations being insufficient. Under stress, especially in gloves, racking the gun can be very difficult. Hungarian law-enforcement SOP dictates Condition 3 carry (I know, it's stupid) so this enlarges said problem even more. Obviously, this can be improved with proper training but everybody knows how much training LEOs get so it's just wishful thinking. That being said, I love the P-09. As a sport shooter, I shot it for over a year, won some matches with it and I find the gun great to shoot, I like how it sits in my hand, I like how balanced it is, I could find ways to work around the ergonomics and I like the trigger too. But I wouldn't trust my life on the CZ P-09. The CZ P10 is a better, more reliable handgun without question. However, I really appreciate CZ sticking to the severely ignored DA/SA market and updating the design with the new Nocturne. Thats the same experience I have. CZs are great guns flawed with bad QC. P10's arent without an issues as well, walking pins, cracking frames, broken ejectors..
Funny enough, my experience with the P10 was that the feed ramp was angled in such a way that it wouldn't feed certain hollow points and would actually cause bullet setback.

I'm curious about if they clean and lube their products before they box them for sale. Lots of reviewers insisting on "out of the box" performance with breaking the new gun in like that is the benchmark for reliability and endurance. It's in the owner manual to clean, inspect and oil the gun prior to initial use
@williamryan9195 yes and no, when the parts are made and assembled they use a CLP called I think 'Firepower' or something like that, even on the polymer frames but after test firing I'm not entirely sure, I don't think they clean them after test firing, just during production and assembly
@@ksrebelbuck7936 Thanks. I thought that was the case. You are aware that even polymer framed pistols require lube. The action is still a metal-to-metal situation and needs oil to keep things rolling.Tight new gun and lack of lube isn't ideal.
Found out about the Ruger RXM Sunday afternoon. I now have 3 of them and put a few Glocks up for sale. 500 rounds through each with various mags and 100% function. It's my new EDC gun and the Glock I've been waiting for, for 20 years. The parts availability and interchangeability are a preppers dream.
Everyone is always so scared to modify Glocks for fitment. Glocks are made of plastic homie, get some sandpaper. They aren’t some crazy immovable object. Be your own master. The world is yours. You just have to grab it by the dremel and realize your dreams. Don’t be as soft as the plastic Glock makes their grips out of.
I definitely agree with a couple of your picks. This year I purchased a Bodyguard 2.0 and a Glock 49. Luckily for me both of them have performed flawlessly. Happy New Year!
James you made my Xmas when I woke up and saw your video on the RXM. I’m a Ruger fanboy who’s always wanted a Glock I just never got one bc I would always get something else bc i nvr liked they way they shoot. I went right out to my local shop and they were one of the few places that had em. They knew about it too bc they went to Ruger a while back and met some people apparently from what they told me while I was doing my paperwork. I love this thing. It feels good in the hand and shoots damn good. Still getting used to it bc I mainly carry a P95. I got more modern shit I just like the pseries pistols. Happy new year brother 🎊
After you interview with Landon and the Beretta executives I bought a basic PX4. Loved it and bought a LTT version. Money well spent. Happy Holidays TFBTV. Get some rest. Shot show is right around the corner.
@toddm9501 i generally follow the same logic. That and it saves a good chunk of money and most people don't shoot much so there is typically minimal wear and tear.
Long before Glock introduced the G49, I put a Brownells G17 length slide on a P80 G19 frame. I’m sure I’m not the only person who did that as well. Happy New Year!
I love your work, James. Your video about the P365 X Macro made me try it and once I felt it in hand I was hooked. I now have the pistol, a good iwb holster, a holosun 407k, and a constant burning desire to shoot it. I love showing it to friends and family, telling them to get one, and quoting YOU when referencing its concealability 😏
The area in Tennessee that Smith moved their facility to has nuclear, aerospace manufacturing, automotive, medical manufacturing, and Amazon. Smith & Wesson pays less than anybody here except Amazon. So that’s why they’re getting our hill people lol
Loving the PX4 love. I've been rocking an LTT compact Carry as my EDC for the last 7 years. Liked it so much I bought the full sized LTT px4 carry...like that so much I went all in and got the px4 G-SD with optic cut, np3 magwell etc. I carry that almost as much as my compact carry
Try rotating the spring assembly, I find that mine runs smooth in some positions, and gets hung up in others. I also put a crapload of CLP into the sleeves of the telescoping guide rod, and that smoothed it out a lot. But I can't get my front sight to drift no matter how hard I smack it.
I don't think the Glock was number one on the list. I just think you didn't want to march it out too early and lose all the viewers who are turned off when you scream like a fan girl at an N'Sync reunion when the Glock comes out. :-) Seriously, good list and thanks for the recommendations.
I feel like I am at the eye doctor. “Which one is better number five or number one?“ Ruger versus Glock and also Beretta versus CZ pretty funny! I am definitely someone who has spent more money on handguns than I probably should have, but the Ruger and the CZ seem to take the cakein those two categories.
just taken first shots of my new S&W bodyguard 2.0 a few hours ago, with MAXX ammo (yeah not the best ammo), around 50 rounds, all good, hopefully I got more luck 🙂
Regarding Smith and Wesson, I was about to purchase the carry comp, the entire port was missing from the barrel! Told the shop you almost ran a fast one on me!
Correction at 11:13 . If you own any Glock then you essentially own every Glock ever made because it's the same exact pistol that they still manage to sucker you Glock Fan boys into buying over and over and over and over again by simply making the most miniscule changes.... and then at Glock HQ they fondle themselves whilst laughing and laying on the pile of money they've scammed you out of every year 😂
I was in the market for a polymer frame pistol and i love my px4 conceal carry 2. I got the compensator light combo from vantage point armory and it is one of my smoothest running semis i own. I am gonna drop in langdons trigger and trigger bar soon. And send the slide in for an optic cut. I would have never known about the px4 without your video on it, many thanks.
I’m glad I watched this video because I just shot my bodyguard 2.0, for the first time today, and I had similar issues as you, where a round was chambered but the striker didn’t reset. My guess is the recoil spring needs to be broken in though. It’s so stiff out of the box. I just subbed so I can keep an eye out for your video on that.
It seems he got a crap copy, which is wild since they sent it to him. QC not killing it over there unfortunately, and I really question why they even tried to upgrade something that was already so good.
Maybe over hyped. But all the features on the Springfield echelon compact, I would add to this list, the optic system on it alone is amazing, and they made it in a carry size.. hard to beat for the price as well
Finally, someone else sees how incredible the p09 nocturne is. I can't understand how with that trigger that gun shoots as well as it does. But its very good.
I think the decocker function is sufficient. I have an HK45 with both decocker and safety functions and feel like I need a mini manual to figure out how to make it hot. On the other hand I do love safeties, especially ones that let me rack with safety on. Trigger discipline can fall prey to fear under stress while racking, or fall prey to nonchalance.
Honestly I love my bodyguard 2.0 and it has been nothing but reliable and accurate HOWEVER the 12 rd mags are seriously hard to load to capacity. I’m happy to get the 11th in
Is this similar to the Shield Plus loading issue? I needed to grind some material off of the rear of the 13 rd mag followers to form a better angle for the spring to not get bound up. It took just a few minutes, but after that I could get all 13 loaded. I'm interested in the BG 2.0 for more pocketable size, but I may wait for it to be fine tuned a bit.
Get a Maglula loader and it'll load the last rounds easy. After a couple of months the springs work themselves in and you can load the mags with just your thumb. Same goes for the Shield Plus mags. Better the springs to be too strong at first than not strong enough in the long run.
The roll out of the RXM reminded me of when Gibson rolled out their "Theodore" guitar. All the guitar-tubers reviewed it, sang it's praises for it's bold design and reasonable price point (for a gibson.) but now it's nowhere. However, the more I see the RXM the more I like about it. that Mag-Pull lower is really well thought-out, and that price is alarmingly reasonable.
Have my OG Compact Carry PX4 as my bigger carry piece. Absolutely love that thing. Picked it up “used” for 425 about 5 years ago. Never had a single malfunction. Can’t speak highly enough of this gun. My only qualm with it is its thickness. That’s it.
I have watched you before and honestly never really impressed. I watched you here and you came across as more transparent. You were just you and I really enjoyed it. I’m going to have to watch you some more. Good job.
I picked up a Bodyguard 2.0 back in July, and it has run well for me, but I had to make some sight adjustments. Magazine availability was my biggest issue with the Bodyguard 2.0
@ The magazine availability issue is now solved, but like any OEM magazine, they’re not cheap. Neither are the mags for the LCP Max. For me, the Bodyguard 2.0 has the best ergonomics, but the LCP Max is also very good. You can’t go wrong with either.

@bruceblackerby3742 sounds about right, I got a 586 a few months ago and it was light striking non-stop (weak hammer spring, I tightened the strain screw as much as possible and it still light striked) sent ti back and they returned it saying the strain screw was loose, still light striked, so I sent it back a second time putting in a note telling them how I worked there and knew they didn't touch it because I tightened it myself, needless to say it was the hammer spring and it came back fixed properly
The Glock comes out on top? Didn't see that coming.
I used to think prior to the gen5 Glock’s grip was like holding a 2x4 but that lower on the RXM is like Magpul said hey hold my beer.
Never had problems with them but I have XL/XXL Sasquatch hands.
The RXM definitely has my interest but I'm giving it at least a year in the wild to see how it does.
James, You Jan Brady of TFBTV!!! Enjoyed the list. Hope you have an excellent New Years and Happy Trails.
I definitely agree with a couple of your picks. This year I purchased a Bodyguard 2.0 and a Glock 49. Luckily for me both of them have performed flawlessly. Happy New Year!
Thanks for cool 2024 James and the entire crew at TFB TV.....Happy New Year ALL!!!
I have a Bodyguard 2.0, take it to the range often. Love it. It's on me all the time.
S&W bodyguard 2 is my favorite new pistol by far. Perfect for summer EDC.
Ditto
Excellent and entertaining, Happy New Year!!!
The RXM vs APX A1 video better be coming!
Got my wife the new Bodyguard and it basically lives in my pocket lol
"Took a shit in my hand like a scared hamster".....Dude, I'm still laughing!
I am curious about the RXM, but am going to wait a bit to see what else comes down the pipe.
P320 .45 owners been waiting 10+ years!
Modular. Theoretically.
A good friend of mine said, "Never buy a brand new firearm (meaning it hasn't been tested by civilians) in the 1st year. I think that's common sense.
@toddm9501 i generally follow the same logic. That and it saves a good chunk of money and most people don't shoot much so there is typically minimal wear and tear.
Or you could get the RXM now, and get ahead of all the aftermarket and/or additional frames and chassis releases
I always say that when I’m reading on the throne.
Long before Glock introduced the G49, I put a Brownells G17 length slide on a P80 G19 frame. I’m sure I’m not the only person who did that as well. Happy New Year!
I got that compact storm because of you and it shoots like my overpriced 2011 stuff. Thanks
So that’s why they’re getting our hill people lol
sombodys got to do it 🤣
I got a LTT PX4 C this year. All of the hype is true. It shoots great.
You rock, James. Hilarious as always. I'm in the market for an optic cut pistol. I've held out as long as I could. Thanks for all your opinions.
My Bodyguard 2.0 rear sights were off from factory but shoots awesome. Few feeding issues with certain hollow points (Ammo Inc.)
Thanks for reviews.
Way to stick with the WWF analogy as you fell apart to finish it. Love the commitment to the craft. Nailed it on your first take?
Happy new year to TFBtv crew. Looking forward to your content next year and your continued success.
Gotta say, My Bodyguard 2.0 feels like it's made of concrete when you rack it, but shoots smooth and accurate.
Try rotating the spring assembly, I find that mine runs smooth in some positions, and gets hung up in others. I also put a crapload of CLP into the sleeves of the telescoping guide rod, and that smoothed it out a lot. But I can't get my front sight to drift no matter how hard I smack it.
thanks James, Happy New Year back
Perfect List James
I bought a Ruger Security 9 like 5 years ago after your review. Ready to upgrade, and I think the RxM is going to be the ticket
I don't think the Glock was number one on the list. I just think you didn't want to march it out too early and lose all the viewers who are turned off when you scream like a fan girl at an N'Sync reunion when the Glock comes out. :-) Seriously, good list and thanks for the recommendations.
You are freaking HILARIOUS. Thank you
The Rugpul is the best name for a gun that I have ever heard…
Dude, this is my favorite gun channel by far. lol
Gluger..might have to try one.
Canadian here and I'm so falking jealous
Instead of being jealous, why aren't you overthrowing your tyrannical government?
We voted ourselves into this. Or at least our fellow voters did.
Just move down south, we’d love to have you guys down here!
@@Ussr0312 I moved to Arizona in 2019. I knew Canada was getting worse. Best decision I ever made.
The roast on Tennessee craftsmanship 😂😂
just taken first shots of my new S&W bodyguard 2.0 a few hours ago, with MAXX ammo (yeah not the best ammo), around 50 rounds, all good, hopefully I got more luck 🙂
Regarding Smith and Wesson, I was about to purchase the carry comp, the entire port was missing from the barrel!
Told the shop you almost ran a fast one on me!
Yooo River Thames
Happy New Year to James and the TFB TV crew!
3:22 That finger.. Yikes
Thought I was the only one who saw that
Looking to see if anyone was gonna say something about it 😅
A few minutes later...
What finger? 😂
My first thought as well. A little close there, James.
I was going to post the same. That's his nose-pickin finger.
Honest Outlaw had that same CZ on his 5 worst guns list.
It seems he got a crap copy, which is wild since they sent it to him. QC not killing it over there unfortunately, and I really question why they even tried to upgrade something that was already so good.
Thanks James for another great year
Px4 is something to look at for sure!
I just bought a G49 last weekend. After shooting it, I’m in love!
Don't own a Rxm yet. But once I hear Magpul is making a G17 size frame I'm all in.
I’ll be more curious about them when they have grips that use gen 4-5 sized mag release buttons. My stubby thumbs don’t like small magazine releases
Thanks James! Love the videos. Happy 2025!
I didn’t realize how sad the handgun releases of this year were until this video.
When you see Black Rock owns most of them and realize bankers are incapable of innovation, it makes sense.
Maybe over hyped. But all the features on the Springfield echelon compact, I would add to this list, the optic system on it alone is amazing, and they made it in a carry size.. hard to beat for the price as well
I don't care what you review. Entertaining as hell. Wish I could make your party in Vegas.
Finally, someone else sees how incredible the p09 nocturne is.
I can't understand how with that trigger that gun shoots as well as it does.
But its very good.
Where'd you get the kick-ass Walter Sobchak glasses at ~8:20?
Love your videos and can't wait for 2025. thank you
we need more rotary barrel pistols like the px4, would be cool if the px4 had a frame mounted safety
100%
And in 10 mm
Rotary barrel .22LR 😂
Im drunk, sorry.
Yes we do, no it will not, and we need more calibers.
Happy new year Alex C with TFBTV...I mean James
Honestly I love my bodyguard 2.0 and it has been nothing but reliable and accurate HOWEVER the 12 rd mags are seriously hard to load to capacity. I’m happy to get the 11th in
Haha! Just picked one up and had the same issue. I thought I miscounted but yea after about 8 rounds its a fight.
1 in the chamber, 11 in the magazine. That’s how I carry.
Ruger is lowkey the best manufacturer out there!
Highly debatable.
Walther surpasses Ruger in a heartbeat, as does many other minor and select brand firearms.
I will say their customer service is probably at the top of the list.
Ruger is KelTec with better propaganda.
Not even close to being the best.
Have my OG Compact Carry PX4 as my bigger carry piece. Absolutely love that thing. Picked it up “used” for 425 about 5 years ago. Never had a single malfunction. Can’t speak highly enough of this gun. My only qualm with it is its thickness. That’s it.
Hi-Point will probably release the “Little Luigi” pistol in 2025. It will also function about as well as Luigi’s pistol did.
Nah, It's a HiPoint, it will work. If it's not a YC...
Hi point would have worked flawlessly lol
I think Luigi was prepared for it not to cycle
He still got the job done!!!
Functioned enough to kill who he wanted to didn't it?
Damn you!!! I bought the rxm after watching your vid. Well done sir.
Im surprised that the hk cc9 isn't on the list
Maybe had they brought us the real deal and not some knock of g3c.
Probably because nobody cares about any new micro 9 releases, they were way late to the market.
Cc9 is better than that bs #1 glock pick that no one cares about
Great video!! James can’t miss!
RXM is probably going to outsell all of them lol.
I have watched you before and honestly never really impressed. I watched you here and you came across as more transparent. You were just you and I really enjoyed it. I’m going to have to watch you some more. Good job.
Was waiting this to be Top 5 Glocks of 2024.
Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan
Thank you for the wholesome content.
I enjoy 👍🏻 👌🏻
James, your eloquent prose and diction is other worldly. Humor, intelligence, charm, it's all there. You must have had good mentors in law school.
Happy New Year Bro!
I picked up a Bodyguard 2.0 back in July, and it has run well for me, but I had to make some sight adjustments. Magazine availability was my biggest issue with the Bodyguard 2.0
Damn guess ruger lcp max it is then
@@jason200912 have fun with that
@ The magazine availability issue is now solved, but like any OEM magazine, they’re not cheap. Neither are the mags for the LCP Max.
For me, the Bodyguard 2.0 has the best ergonomics, but the LCP Max is also very good. You can’t go wrong with either.
I got one recently and it had all issues people complained in forums. Great pocket shooter, terrible QC from SW.
@Shadow__133 it's not qc if they're all bad. Qc problem is if you got a high defect rate but most work. In this case, none work
I love how honest you are about S&W you are one of the best to ever do it my boy thanks for your content. At first I thought you were a douche but you really are thorough & honest and the channel numbers speak to that. Cheers from East Tennessee
Some gun enthusiasts, are hating Ruger for ripping off Glock. Their patent expired on gen 3. See= Armalite AR15. Glock still has patents on 4 and 5. Like Bob Marley sang in 3 Little Birds.
James Happy New Year!
