  • 26 modifications to our Epro travel trailer. We purchased our 2021 Epro 19FD in June of last year. We had previously spent the last year traveling the United States in our homebuilt teardrop trailer "The CrowsWing" . We needed an enclosed trailer in which to live out of while taking various workamping gigs.
    We chose this trailer due to it's light weight because we would be towing with our 2014 Tacoma. This trailer also features aluminum and fiberglass construction, a solar panel, and tank heaters. Since we will be living out of this trailer while working, we made many changes to make it more livable and nicer looking. These were all done while staying at boon docking campsites or campgrounds. We carry a wide array of hand tools on our travels and inexpensive saws and a drill purchased from Harbor Freight. We realize the wood working is not top-notch, but the finished products are sturdy we think they are useful and not awful to look at.
    If you would like any information about products or techniques, please let us know in the comments.
    We will probably post further videos in the future as we see what works and what doesn't, so consider subscribing to our channel and stay tuned!

    Every time I see an FD video I think, "Ditch the bathroom door entirely and put up a magnetic curtain instead!" LOL

    You can also use your dishwater to flush your toilet which saves some fresh water when you're boondocking.

    You can also get more room under the bathroom sink, I made a whole near the top of the panel and attached it to a water hose with a zip tie. Then re-attached the wooden strip on the floor back to hold the vertical panel in place.

    Love the video!
    What size of “tumbler” and what size of diameter was the hole saw you used to cut out the hole?
    This has been more difficult to search than I expected!
    Thanks to anyone who may have the answer!

      Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. The tumbler is a 32 ounce Ozark Trails travel mug. We did not use a hole saw, we did it the hard way and used a jig saw. We drew the hole to roughly the diameter of the mug where the flare begins at about 2/3 up on the wall of the mug.

      We changed the shower head, added battery powered lights around the mirror and we added doors to the side of the cupboard that did not have any. I think that's in one of our "14 more modifications " videos

    Great 12V compressor fridge, knife holder behind the stove, spice rack; countless items and love the neatness. And you defiantly have your since of humor lol; We love winter camping but just a few days and we 're all set up for it other then a skirt for the TT. We own a 2022 Grand Design 22mle and may consider a 2nd TT a Tab 320? If were up to me I have one TT the E- Pro 15TB due to the twin beds and be done with it. But I do answer to a higher calling my wife lol Thank you from Miami, FL

      Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the videos. I'd probably pick the 15TB over the Tab, but I am Epro biased now.

    Hi there. Thanks for all the great ideas! Do you happen to have a picture of the sketch of the shelves over the dinette? The No: 8 label covers up part of the one in your video.

      Here is a link to the drawing. There's really not much more information at the bottom of the page. Just a pieces count, the change from 4" side to 3-1/2" wide, and some other rough figurings.

    I'm full timing in a 2021 Geo Pro 19FD, which apparently is very similar if not identical to your trailer. I've been doing the sink tub into the black tank thing. Loved the spice rack left of the stove top. That wall is thin...how did you attach that little cabinet? Did you put some sort of backer board in when you removed the refrig? Staring at my refrigerator now...probably gonna move it back like you did...hate having to crab walk through that space. I can't remember because I've watch so many videos...did you show how you can move the back wall of the storage area below the oven back 3" to increase the storage space there? Anyway, I'm going to do that too. If your bathroom is the same as mine...look at the back wall between the medicine cabinet and the cabinet behind the toilet. Lots of room there for more storage. I'm going to attach shelves...just a simple board...between the two cabinets attached to each with decorative 90 degree angles...and then mount the woven baskets on the shelves. Ordered some 13" long x 8" deep x 6" tall storage baskets from Amazon. I intend to fasten them down onto the shelves so they, and the contents, don't move when traveling. Swapped out the two useless AGM batteries for a couple 100W 12V lithium ion batteries...game changer if you aren't plugged in all the time. The original batteries wouldn't power the trailer, with my 12V refrigerator, for two days before going dead.

      @flightofthecrowswing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you David. First, the spice rack is attached with wall anchors. The better way is to remove the fridge first and use fender washers or a backer plate. We did the fridge late in the game.
      Second, would love to see pictures of your shelf in the bathroom.
      Third, moving the fridge back makes life so much easier!
      Fourth, lithium is the way to go if you boondocking at all. However, our stock converter never kicks into charge mode with them. I've made the habit of switching the breaker off for a few days, running the batteries down to about 65% then switching the breaker on. Converter then kicks on and charges them to about 90%.

    How did you attach the shelves over the dinette to the wall? Looks like screws, but how do you know what you're screwing into? Thanks!

    • @flightofthecrowswing
      @flightofthecrowswing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The screws are 3/4 inch long, short and fat. Just long enough to get through the shelf support and into the interior wall. The wall is a sandwich of azdell on the outside, foam core, then a plasticized layer of plywood on the interior. The screws only go through the interior wall and just into the foam (which offers zero holding power anyway). We use lots of these short fat screws to distribute the weight. If you're worried about the wiring, it all runs through channels inside the double layered cabinet floors, along the trailer floor behind the cabinets or under the trailer along the frame. Any lights on the exterior are pretty much on the shortest path possible from a wire channel through the wall, the chances of hitting a wire are minimal (but not zero) the super short screws are not long enough to pinch a wire into the exterior wall.

    Great videos! I have a 19FBS but love to learn of some upgrades we all can do. We changed out the knife holder behind the stove and made it a utensil holder/ knife holder. I think I saw yours last year on the FB page - brilliant! We also do dishes similarly only we wipe off the dishes with our napkins/paper towel. I use a spray bottle filled with soap/water to wash and then rinse and add the water to the black tank! I do have a question though. It looks like you've drilled holes into the walls of the camper. How do you know where to drill without hitting something important (like wires)? I would love to put up a shower curtain bar in my bathroom to dry towels. Also, when you drill into something like a cabinet do you add some wood behind to strengthen the wall, for instance with your spice cabinet?

    • @flightofthecrowswing
      @flightofthecrowswing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We used hollow door anchors for the spice cabinet. If you have easy access to the back side of a panel adding a block of wood or using fender washers and bolts would be better.
      As for drilling holes. We don't know where the wiring is. Most of it is run through channels, like behind cabinets, under the bed or onside storage areas. The only real wiring is for any electrical item on the exterior of the trailer (lights, awning, speakers) This usually runs in straight lines up and down the framing so we avoided any holes in line with any lights or the awning wiring. So far that method has worked for us.
      The walls themselves are a composite of 1/8" azdell exterior/3/4" foam core/ 1/8" interior wall. All the screws we use are short 3/4" to avoid going through the entire wall system and we use a drill stop to prevent drilling deeper than the 1/8" wall board we are anchoring to.
      I'm not saying that I'll never cut into the wiring using these methods but so far so good. If we do I guess it will be time for a big trailer remodel!
