    One thing they didn't tell you is when you first roll out the awning is you should only go out about a foot and let it sit for a couple of minutes to let the oil in the shocks settle or you can shorten the life of them.

    I see your rubber plug did the same thing mine did, black goo all over your fingers. I painted my propane tank cover white, because here in central GA the summer sun got the tanks up to 140°F in the summer heat, which freaked me out as it made the internal pressure near 180 psi !!
    The main power cutoff switch (on my 19fd) as two 'off' positions, #1 turns everything off, #2 turns everything off and comes OUT of the base, so if you hit #2 and drive away, your switch knob will be lost.
    I think the canister filter is superior to the blue hose attached ones. The canister, however, from the dealer is on insanely tight, many folks have broken the mounting or other parts trying to get it off. The large cartridge is good for at least a year of continuous use.
    The 50 to 30 amp connector has saved us a couple times when our camp power post only had a 50 amp supply available like when the camp only had a couple 'big rig' sites left. And we also have the 20 amp to 30 amp connection as well, for pre-trip use like getting the fridge cold before leaving. Good detailed vid.

    Be careful using ez-lube feature. I have seen it blow the seals out the back and fill the brakes with grease. This would apply to bearing buddies and Lippert super-lube as well. Best thing to do is remove the hubs/drums once a year and manually inspect and repack the bearings. You will have to replace the grease seals when doing this.

    • @TheHorizonAwaits
      @TheHorizonAwaits  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to listen to the sound of it filling up. It will get a higher and higher pitched sound as it gets closer to filling up the fill tube. It it overflows, it is not a big deal though, you just get water on the ground. You should be able to read your fresh water gauge as it fills though and see when it is close.

    My trailer is also a 2021 Geo Pro 19FD, purchased in May of 2021. Some things are different. They must make running changes instead of waiting for the next model year. I have a 190W solar panel, my fridge is 12V only, pretty sure my sink is the same or very close to what you have, location of some stuff on the roof is in different places, Upgraded to 2 - 100AH lithium batteries since the fridge is a power hog and the AGM's supplied by the dealer were not up to the task. Blew up my microwave, the converter box, all the receptacles, and a couple breakers in the panel by plugging in at a campsite in Arkansas, even though I had a fancy surge protector on my 30 amp plug. Covered by warranty but it took from September to Feb. to get it fixed. Going to add a second solar panel up top.

    • @TheHorizonAwaits
      @TheHorizonAwaits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry to hear your surge protector didn't work for you. I plugged mine in a campsite and it tripped the breaker and some smoke came out of the fuse box. The surge protector was fine, but I bet things in my camper would have died if I had plugged it in directly first.

    • @David-rx2to
      @David-rx2to 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheHorizonAwaits I plugged in and heard a "pop" from inside the trailer. Walked around to find thick smoke filling the ceiling from about a foot down. Nothing was turned on when I plugged in, so I can't figure out why everything was damaged. Curiously, the AC didn't work at first, but somehow recovered (can't explain that, and neither could the service tech) Since then, I turn off my breakers before I plug in, then turn them on after. Had to buy a 4 amp battery charger and plug in to 110V to keep my batteries alive since the converter box was blown, and the single 190W solar panel was /is undersized and cannot keep up with the refrigerator and minimal use of lights. Maybe shutting off the breakers is unnecessary, but I don't want to go through what I did again.

    • @TheHorizonAwaits
      @TheHorizonAwaits  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure why it would be more likely to catch fire while traveling than any other time. Are you saying never leave your propane refrigerator on while you are not in the trailer? That means you cannot store food when you leave if you are boondocking - kind of the point of a propane fridge.

      The Dometic roof AC unit on my GeoPro will draw 16-20 amps on startup, so this will trip the breaker on a 15 amp household circuit. Your AC may operate differently and you can get a "soft start" device installed that will allow you to start the AC with much less amperage.
