- The New York Academy of Art and Her Clique are proud to present Jerry Saltz in conversation with Tracey Emin.
Among the world's most recognized and beloved artists, Tracey Emin rose to prominence in the 1990s. Emin's practice spans conceptual art, performance, film, installation, photography, as well as drawing and painting. Emin is one of the first two women appointed professor at London's Royal Academy of Arts since its founding in 1768.
Her Clique is proud to present Tracey Emin in conversation with Pulitzer Prize winning critic Jerry Saltz at the New York Academy of Art, at a discussion marking the artist's first visit to the United States in six years.
SO glad i found this on youtube... just wonderful. Tracy is a LION!
I has no idea how terribly sweet she was.
Tracy is so genuine and wonderful creative artist I just love her xxxxx
She has done extraordinarily well in her arch of life up until now. I love how optimistic she is about life as a 90 year old artist! Yay! #punkisnotdead ❤
I now understand why people love Tracey Emin.
Love her!! ❤
I admire her
Fab interview Lady ... you named it as did Mr J.S !!!
So HONEST and FRESH. I'm nearly 60 and was worried it would be too late to paint. But you have convinced me otherwise. THANK YOU ❤
What a fabulous interview. A brilliant artist with a splendid interviewer.
Love Tracey she is a highly intelligent lady could listen to her forever ❤
Goose bumps. Finally an artist that I can truly relate to! I love how she refers to Harry!!
❤❤❤
Took me a while to get here...
Great interview!
When i make it to the Museum i shall say
"Hello, I love you"
I loved this interview. Sitting and listening to a favorite person and hearing one more statement and one more remark and then again, pure delight and a huge shot of inspiration. It takes a lot of courage to be so honest as an artist. Her example blows me away every time.
"radical vulnerability " I love that. I was looking for those words to describe her
Amazing women x
What was the date of this interview?
Beautiful.
Moving in a real way.
In her utterly authentic work, Tracey transforms bourgeois restraint, a restraint that is not practiced with benevolence but is the conspiratorial interest of a bourgeoisie turned against itself. It is an arrogant, weak-minded silence and useless denial that represents a behavioral disorder of the bourgeoisie that permeates all levels of our society. It is this misplaced reticence of a bourgeoisie that still circulates as a ghostly ideal that the art scene emulates. Sometimes it seems that some art collectors have a much freer attitude than most of the big ass dealers.

I knew when Tracy said she was good with money she is a Cancer. July 3rd. What a life she has had.
The antiquated artist has gone forward with a nakedness. 🤣🤘
I don't understand how she gets a period anymore. Unlikely...isn't she in her 50's?
There are women near 70 that still get one. Not impossible.
The world being destroyed by maniacal world leadership, might be a bigger priority. -Former fine arts professor, quit in protest of b.s.

(Presumeably = mansplaining 😂)
We live in an insane asylum.
Art that isn't art - all driven by money thst isn't money.
