Sinthan Top is a mountain pass, a popular tourist destination located between South Kashmir's Breng Valley (Sub-District Kokernag) in Anantnag district and Kishtwar district of Chenab Valley in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Majority of the area lies on the Kishtwar side.
Sinthan Top is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.792m (12,440ft) above the sea level, located in Anantnag district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.The zigzag and uphill road to the summit is mostly paved. It’s called Anantnag-Kokernag-Kishtwar NH1B Highway. It was resurfaced on 2018. The new highway is well-built and secure and almost effortlessly takes you to the top. High risk of rock slides.Located within the Pir Panjal mountain Range, adverse weather conditions are common. Ice and snow can be on the way.
Hundreds of turns along the way. The drive is definitely worth it. Every bend on the road is a photographer's delight. Don't forget your camera. The area is known for its beauty and wonderful tourist attractions. The place is fast growing as one of the top tourist destination in Kashmir. The journey is in itself an experience and once you reach the top it is 360 degree view.
The Sinthan pass connects Anantnag with Kishtwar and is the only road that connects the people of Warwan and Marwah (Marye) of Kishtwar district with district headquarters in Kishtwar town. It is 12,500 feet (3,800 m) above sea level and is snow-capped for most of the year. It is located on the Anantnag-Kokernag-Kishtwar section of NH 244, and is 80 km from Kishtwar town, 130 km south of Srinagar and 73 km from Anantnag and 48 km from Kokernag. Sinthan Top has no local population.
Like other areas of the valley, Sinthan Top is known for its beauty and wonderful tourist attractions. The place is fast growing as one of the top tourist destination in Chenab valley. Around 37 kilometers of snaky and uphill drive from Daksum, it offers an adventurous journey. The spot is emerging for mountaineering, trekking and skiing.Sinthan Top is easily accessible from Srinagar.
Attractions in Kashmir like Kokernag, Dacksum and Achabal fall en route that offer tourists varied choice of resting and makes traveling more pleasant and less tiresome. At the spot called '360 Degree View', one can see areas of both Kashmir and Jammu Divisions. Also the spot itself can be a great resting place for people traveling from Srinagar to Kishtwar or Doda and back.Sinthan Top is the South-East end of Breng Valley (The Golden Crown of Kashmir) and is 48 km from famous Kokernag spring.Although the tunnel plans to bypass Sinthan pass were approved in principle years ago, the action is still awaited by the government.Varying lengths of tunnel have been reported by media but maps would suggest a length of about 10 to 14 km.

MOUNTAIN PEOPLE R LITTLE INTROWARD SO U FIND THEM DIFFERENT BUT THEY R NICE MUCH BETTER THAN PEOPLE OF UR AREAS?

How's x pulse, on maintaining part..in off beat areas, how's speed n power during climbing, how's avg and overall ride quality. I m confused what to buy . Himalayan or xpulse. Is xpulse perfect for city ,highway n offroads. Overall maintenance of bike ,spare parts ,service part.

Sir its not famous because its in jammu region and goverment always promotes Kashmir, agar yahe kashmir me hota toh yeh bhi utna he famous hota.Being from J&K i know government of J&K had never promoted Jaammu region.
Bhai ye donkeys nahi mules hain and trust me they are expensive

Just to mention that there are many check points in Kishtwar Srinagar route but that does not mean that this route is dangerous . It is mainly because it used to be notorious in the past and the vigil is being maintained. Also, security of non-locals is considered paramount. I too did this route in August and even stayed in remote areas on this route without any hassle or threat. My main reason do this trip was to prove to people that this is a safe region. There may be some remote incidents like anywhere in the world (if luck is not in favour then "कुत्ता भी ऊँठ सवार को काट जाता है ") ... Have fun and safe driving...
