I think there are enough competitions at the moment, but individual competitions need to increase their value. For example, increase the prize pool of major tournaments and increase the prize money of other S-level events.

Back in my day 4 teens would come together to form a halo team, beg their parents for $200 to buy a team pass to an MLG event then pray they make top 8 so that they can get paid.

Yep. And today these players be making 30k a month and complain about having to get up early to play a match. I dont even make 30k in a full year and Im 32

@@TriWaZe In the pre show at ESL today they were interviewing someone, and they were saying that it must be so exhausting playing so many tournaments how do they keep their composure (or something along these lines). Maybe I’m stupid but seems these guys are living the dream. If I was feeling stressed about playing too many tournaments I would just imagine how I could be driving to my regular job every day instead, and all that stress would be gone.

Am i living in my own simulation or didn't they say about a year ago that there would be no more 3rd party events by 2025 and valve would be managing events going forward from there. Maybe im remembering it wrong.

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: there is way too many “tier one” tournaments. I would love to see two majors, and maybe only 6 other tournaments that are split amongst the different directors. We need an increase in tournaments built for up and coming teams. A majority of the players on tier one teams now are from academy and “tier 2 or 3” teams. Personally would love to watch the next donk for example actually go through the ranks with a team no one cares about and see them progress. Elige talked on this in a interview, we need to treat the top of CS as the top and not showboat them around all year in a different tournament every month, and we need to put a focus on upcoming talent and youth. They’ve proven they can handle it, the pressure, and it would breathe life back into CS.

Today is 24/04/2024 and still no updates….💀💀💀
