Something i learned in GTA IV as a teen which i thought was cool was that if you get out of a car you press F once you leave the engine on. But if you hold F you actually turn the car off. which is fun. Cause in GTA V you get out the car it turns off automatically. but in 4 you hold F and it turns off the engine. Neat little feature by Rockstar games that they never carried over to GTA V
I feel like I'm in the minority in terms of liking GTA IV driving and preferring it vastly over the next game. The vehicle physics isn't perfect by any means but it's much more "real" than any of the other titles in the franchise which always made it feel rewarding to actually drive well, imo.
I like the driving also more indeed because of the more real feel to it. Cars are heavy and slide-y. They actual have oversteer and under steer and a legit torque system which mainly muscles have.
For Rockstar games, GTA 4 is as perfect as it gets. The weight of the cars is reflected when turning or stopping as the cars will sway in one direction. Braking also takes time as a car will irl and the damage is reflected nicely. Matt has actually gotten me to play this game recently. I forgot how fun gta 4 is compared to the 5th entry
Dear Lord watching him skip over actually driving around and exploring, missing out on executions, and complaining about following someone is so infuriating but I guess it's because he's a speed runner 😅. Honestly hope the whole playthrough isn't like this

i know that this is old but i don’t understand why it is so infuriating watching this gameplay, but i think it’s because he doesn’t care about the play through, the constant cabbing, skipping drives, it’s like watching someone complete gta v 100% with skips, he’s just trying to complete everything as fast as possible, and it’s aggravating, slow down, pay attention and you wouldn’t be so confused all the time.

I don't usually care to use taxi for fast travel in GTA games, but when I was playing LA Noire, I let myself be a perpetual passenger as soon as I realized I could make my NPC partner do the driving. Yeah, the games use the same basic engine, but when I'm playing GTA I want to drive and kind wish I could be rid of the FPS aspect of it.
I'm glad some others are mentioning how frustrating it is to watch this. I really think Viper can produce a much better playthrough than this nowadays. I can easily rewatch even some gta clone playthroughs you've done because they're entertaining but this gta4 one is horrible. I hope you replay it at some point. I played better when the game came out and i was 14 only have bwing playing video games for 5 years. I never screamed so much for so long.

It’s as if you cannot play ANY other GTA that’s not GTA 5. Not that you can’t but you simply refuse too 💀, I was thinking to myself that ou can’t be that bad at this game we all finished at like 10 years old but you just don’t care about playing it much and we can see it.

The zoom effect is tied to the frame rate. The more fps, the more amount of zoom

I like Matt obviously, but some of his comments while playing this game are just annoying. Like he is watching an important cutscene before you're about to kill Faustin and he's just like "this mouth sync is terrible" like focus on the story and what he's saying, not some technology because its a 2008 game dude.

Gta 4 has better cops in my opinion because, they're funnier. Especially when you're fighting them inside of the first hospital you can find in the game, thanks to the fact that if you eliminate npcs via explosion in an area with a low ceiling they get stuck, also i find the gta 4 cops funnier because of The officer down line that they say very often
