I was quite accidentally watching one of those pearl parties last night when I couldn't fall back asleep. My feeling the entire time was "What is this? What the hell am I watching?". I'm by no means a jewellery expert but I am a life long collector, have quite a lot of pearls and those neon colours popping out of gross looking orange clams is just not something I have ever seen naturally.
Yeah just saw a pearl party video for the first time a few minutes ago and had to look up an explanation video. They were charging 25$ a pop and selling jewelry with it. Over 100k subscribers probably making a killing with that crap.
Thank you for explaining how it’s constructed, have tried to figure it out knowing the colours and perfect roundness of all is impossible and seeing it is rotten oysters. Watching a video with opening is a very good way to fall asleep though when you suffers from insomnia!💎
This was very interesting, I was hooked on Pearl parties a few years back and got 2 openings myself. One of the green pearls faded dramatically inside locket necklace I was given with my purchase. It kind of makes me sad because some ladies would be on every party ordering like it was an investment. Thank you for this video, many need to see it.
Thank you for watching and your comment. 😁 the green dye in the pearl could of either been rubbed away or reacted with UV light from the sun and faded. Please share and keep watching for more videos coming soon.
All I can say is thank you!! Because I really was going to buy them and open them... They don't tell the truth about the pearls. It's crazy ..... Again Thanks for explaining this whole process!! ✌🏻💗😊❣️
this was super informative, thank you! Ive always been curious about how to spot real pearls. I was always told by my aunt the real ones were heavier, but its much more complicated than that
Amazing and informative video. Was super curious about this after watching a video on the pearl time MLM but unable to find any videos about the actual science and process involved with pearl production and shucking. Took quite a bit of searching until I found your video! Thank you so much
Is the pearl/colored glass put into the oyster/mussel for the "presentation" and part of the "scam". Or does being inside the Oyster actually do something to the glass as they say it does? (The elude that it acts like a natural pearl).
I really don't like how they're ripping ppl off in these pearl parties, and in the MLM, too. You can buy pearls like they're selling on Amazon super cheap, just as pretty. It's not at all an investment like they try to portray it as. I used to work in GIA in NYC grading diamonds in their lab, in the diamond district, and while I didn't handle pearls or know anything about pearls, I had experience w/ knowing that there are all kinds of scientific details involved in the price of jewelry items, and that fakes are dirt cheap, and can passed off as real to people who aren't in the know.
Thank you for your honesty! I love watching pearl parties, but I could never get myself to pay as much as they charge and now I’m so glad I didn’t. They’re definitely still fun to watch though. 😄
Thank you!!! I have bought strands of blue pearls at my local bead store for much less than these folks are charging for one oyster/clam/muscle.
Thank you for showing the truth

Haha "What is this? What the hell am I watching?" that is exactly what I thought when I was first saw a pearl party.

i truly enjoyed your candidness and dignified honesty on a much misunderstood (and, perhaps, intentionally mislead) gem! Thank you!

I've seen a pearl party of Facebook Live. It's fun to watch, but never would I make a purchase. I can't believe the prices people are paying.
I thought I was the only one! I never buy them but it’s fun to watch. They kinda get irritated when folks ask via live about the process.
Thank you so much! I love your videos! Are you going to make more?
Very useful video. I always felt there was something off about these pearl parties that randomly pop up on my page, but I didn’t know how.
I knew the basics... but thanks for the clarification. Inserting fw pearl which is pre-dyed into a dead oyster😶...
