Ever since first learning of Basic Programming for the 2600 I've always had a pipe dream of someone making a full sized keyboard work with it. Seems it finally became reality!
Ok this is awesome, going to try making one of those myself, had no idea there was a basic cartridge for the Atari until finding an old one in my garage. Great channel!!
Nice. And if you thought using 2 Atari keyboard controllers was awkward, I only had one which came with Star Raiders. For whatever reason my Basic Programming cartridge didn’t include controllers back in the day, so I’d have to frequently swap player ports in order to write any code.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestion! I may get to that one day, but if you want to see a neat joystick/joy-pad controller built from the ground-up, check out MCP90's video (th-cam.com/video/ZkPbInNHvOU/w-d-xo.html). I believe he also put an assembly "how-to" on the AtariAge forums.
I don't find it useful, I just find it interesting to listen to.... if I get my hands on an atari and electronic stuff, then maybe it'll be useful; but until then, I'll just keep watching your videos because they're really interesting.

Great video! I feel sorry for kids who tried to learn BASIC with that cart!
Nice job! This actually was one of my goals when I started learning electronics. now I have one less hobby. Thanks a lot!

Well thought out and described! Excellent work!

Without your videos, it would be hard to find any evidence on the internet that anyone ever made a program with the Atari BASIC cartridge.
now to build a new Atari 5200 controller :P
Okay, that was fun.
Amazing!! This guy is the Atari whisperer! Please can you make a 2600 controller?

There is a similar thing for Atari 2600. It is keyboard with cartage called Compunate or similer
Cool
it's funny because the computer inside the adaptor is probably more powerful than the computing power of the Atari itself...
Very cool and i enjor
