Wow I didn't realize Miami had a metro system! That is so awesome. It gives Miami that enormous big city feel that it deserves so much. I hope they keep expanding the system.
Kaipi1988 The reason why you never heard of it is probably because not much people use it. The stations are pretty ugly and most of them are built in bad neighborhoods.
Rucci Reacts The New York City subway is so bad it has to be built from scratch, it’s in a horrible state. There have been significant renovations made (finally) to some stations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, but it has a very long way to go. The state of New York should have made renovating it a priority since the early 2000s... Who knows, maybe NYC will finally follow the example of Moscow at opening new, big, beautiful stations that extend to the suburbs, completely eliminating the housing shortage problem. Building some modern high rises to increase density wouldn’t kill anyone either.
The Baltimore & Miami trains were manufactured by the BUDD Company and both cities got Federal funding at the same time for their trains so yes they are identical. It was a package deal.
Miami won't be getting an extension to the Metrorail.Instead they got suckered into another busway.Yes folks ,the 1.5 billion dollars Miami Dade collected for the metrorail will not go for metrorail expansion. Most of the people who are affected are black ,Perrine,Goulds ,Florida City ,Homestead,Cutler Ridge. Up north ,up 27th ave ,all the way to Miami Gardens ,all the way to the county line.Suckered again...........Great Video.
There is still a chance for an extension to hardrock stadium running parallel to 27 Ave. Too bad they didn't implement the smart plan, now that would be a great metro that is actually useful. It's a shame.
Did it take nearly 3 years to notice that you put the Miami University colours onto the text for the university station? Also, fun fact... the line colours for metrorail reflect the uni...
I've never been to Chicago, but I can definitely say the same for NYC. Why can't the trains be so much quieter. I heard the older model Bart trains in the Bay area are horribly loud.
@Kevin Howard...The Metrorail & Metromover station downtown is right next to Brightline/Virgin's Miami Central station. The only other line that will go directly into Miami Central will be Tri-Rail but that won't open until next year at the earliest.
@@xoxxobob61 Oh ok. I thought that Metrorail was going to be part of the station. I didn't know there was a station already right near it. I just assumed it would be part of the consolidation effort.

Miami Dade County is tearing up perfect tile floors at the Miami metrorail stations and replacing them with grey floors.God knows, how much it's going to cost Miami Dade County tax payers.

Gleb Sokolov yea but it’s not as good as New York City

I'm planning a quirky mass/public transportation run from Miami Airport to Key West and this was exquisitely helpful. Thank you!
The Grey Hound station is where this Metro Station is at the airport MIC Center.. From airport take skytrain down escalators.
I appreciate your videos of MDTs system. It allows me to see my transit system in a new light.
Gotta love that buzz the trains make.
That buzz noise that you hear is the propulsion
They Going To Expand Orange Line To Through The Airport Terminals And All The Way To Dolphin Mall
Station! Planned For 2025
But that project BEYOND the airport has been cancelled.
Sounds just like our metro train and exactly identical but the logo is different in Baltimore Metro.
The Baltimore & Miami trains were manufactured by the BUDD Company and both cities got Federal funding at the same time for their trains so yes they are identical. It was a package deal.
These cars were a split order with MTA because their systems opened around the same time.
And these are the better of the two

are the trains/ buses handicap accessible as well?
Amy Alvarez yes but you have to pay with a card to go on the train and bus

Yes easy card, now all Miami Dade Fare terminals accept cashless payment

Donavan Emanuel The Breda A650 is only in LA, Miami and Baltimore have Budd Universal Transit Vehicles.
Does Baltimore have newer Budd models like Chicago?

Atlanta uses CQ310-312 cars
Isn't there a station where the new Brightline construction is occurring?
Charles Gossett Government Center (Downtown Miami)
Also the overtown station, pretty sure it connects right to it, could be wrong tho
No, Brightline is downtown. You take the same train to Government Center in downtown.
Their lines will go to Miami Central once it opens right?
Not sure. That'll be an expensive project to do so but it is in close proximity of Gov't Center

I'm pretty sure bicycles are welcomed round-the-clock on Miami Metro.
It doesn't get too congestion
