I'm about to push the buy button on the SB. I've researched these out, and everyone is happy with them. One concern I have is my ceiling height. What do you think would be the MINIMUM ceiling height required for installation? Mine is 90 inches.
Without exception, the best Studiobricks video out there. My One Plus is arriving in a few weeks. I can't believe how big that box is. And I have to get it all up to the fourth floor! Do you think the door will fit in an elevator?
Thanks Wayne! Wishing you good luck with the build. I think the door is likely to fit (depending on the elevator’s size) but I’d say having 1-2 people to help moving it would be very useful.
@@TomBrooksMedia My One Plus arrived a few days ago. I'm watching this video again from the perspective of experience. When they say it's heavy, they really mean it don't they?!
@@waynefarrellvoiceovers Hi Wayne! Hope you got the booth up to the 4th floor OK! I'm about to buy a booth and am also buying an apt. wasn't sure if I needed to get an apt on the ground floor or not-due to the weight of the booth-have you been OK on the 4th floor and did you need a structural engineer to come around and advise on placement? Thanks so much!
@@mhairisteenbock4450 Hi Mhairi. I asked and they said it was fine. The floors in my apartment building are all steel reinforced concrete. It's a relatively new building. If in doubt, ask. Good luck! They are a game changer!
Curious about the weight, did you do any structural analysis or checking of your home plans to determine load limits? If not, how has it held up since you put it together? Thanks!
Hi Philip. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I didn’t do any professional tests, but I have a couple of friends in the building trade so did ask them a few questions such as the placement of the joists etc and they all said it wouldn’t be a problem as the load was spread over a large enough area.
@@TomBrooksMedia Thank you so much for that! I'm getting a Studio Bricks one VO edition and buying a flat and wasn't sure if I needed to get a flat on the ground floor or if I could put the studio on an upper floor without any issues regarding the weight. So you didn't need to get a structural engineer around to advise on where you should put the booth?
Such a great video! I'm also looking to get a booth myself as I do narration animation and commercial! What boom arm are you using, it looks dual, also for your monitor! That's really brilliant! Also are there any openings in the booth for wires?
Thank you! The arm comes with the VO Edition pack that I bought with the booth and it’s great. There’s a hole at the bottom which I’ve fed an extension lead through, which works great for me.
Hey Tom! Would you happen to know how much clearance you had between the roof and ceiling here? Thinking of buying one but I also have a very low ceiling (95" tall)
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Jack. The ceiling height is 235cm in the room and the Studiobricks has just enough clearance to fit when building.
Hey! Are you still using the Studiobricks? I'm kind a considering getting one and would love to get a "2 years later" review. Do you still have the Neumann?
Just so you know mate, you might want to use a different pair of headphones when recording anything in the future. You are using open backed headphones in this video, meaning sound is spilling from the headpnones and into the mic. You'll get cleaner recordings if you use close backed headphones. Nice booth BTW, with a couple of bass traps added that thing is going to sound great. I want one.
It's perfectly suitable for my needs. The only change I've made since this video is to closed-back headphones (DT770's, as I only had DT990's at the time of filming). No problems to report since and no complaints from the multiple clients I've worked for. The interface is getting a bit long in the tooth now so I'll probably replace that before too long - but if it's not broken, then why fix it?
Best thing about this vs the Whisper room is that is comes standard with both double walls AND sound treatment.

That's absolutely sick that is! 👌🏼 Nicely done buddy!
Such a cool video! Loved you showing the dynamics of the different mics! Very cool
"Shrinkwrapman" should be a thing!
This was bloody funny tbf, good chat and bants matey.
Thank you for doing this video!
Great video!! And now I’m wondering who I can pay to put mine together 🤪
Did you find someone?? I'm thinking the same thing...
sportsmanship video update soon? 👀
Sounds bloody great
but there are obsene acoustic bridghe on the floor and roof. just look carefully inner and external wall are directly conected there.

Hey Tom, I wonder what is the brand for the ventilation kit? And how good it is? Congrats for the beautiful vocal booth. Great video!!!
Awesome vid
There is a rumble in the low end of vocals... is that mud or boxy sound

7:00 Tom when he gets passed by the whole grid after starting in P1 - 31st December 2020 Coloured
How much did it cost?
Haha! Great vid :) Love it!

Hi Ryv. Yes, still using my Studiobricks two years on. Great idea for a video - I’ll look at filming something soon.
Just one tip - for sound isolation purposes it really shouldn't sit flush against the walls, space is your best friend.
seems the glass door would be an issue with sound in the booth. Flat surface and all?
I was worried about this, but honestly I’ve not noticed any issues at all.
How did you mount your monitor with the sound proof? Did you have to rip some of it off?
Hi Robyn. No, the monitor I have is small enough and mounted to the arms with no modifications.

Thank you! I've since changed to DT770's (was only using DT990's temporarily as that's all I had available at the time!) and much prefer them.
Funniest Build Ever! Love the Brits!

Ventilation sucks
Your sound test failed big time. I hope it was because it wasn't completely finished. 06:58
