Great video Shane, as always. Just got my 30R today, drove 360km just to get it, cause I didn’t want to wait:) I’ve owned a DSL40CR and just returned an AC15C1 for the 30R. In comparison the Fender just ripped the vox into pieces. I love the AC Tone, but the fender can do it all plus a Perfect clean channel and an unbelievable good Drive. And not to mention the perfectly silent FX Loop.
I’ve got a Laney supercub head, a Marshall 2525h, JCM900 4100 and a Roland Blues Cube Tour here and had many other amps including a Blues junior before, but the Fender seems to do it all. The only thing it can’t do seems to be the tight distortion I get from my 2525h. But it doesn’t have to do that! It just has its own perfect drive channel and by far one of the best I’ve heard over the years.
Now I just hope that it lasts longer than the previous Bassbreaker Amps, but so far I’m impressed. The stock EL84 are GT branded JJs and the preamp section seems to be Sovtek. I didn’t even think about swapping tubes for now. For example, the VOX that costs almost the same comes with really crappy Chinese tubes!
One thing that’s not so great is the reverb. It feels a little noisy, but just to a certain degree and doesn’t get noisier when you turn up the volume. And also the reverb is not the type I like, but that’s what I have my Digitech Polara for, which fits into the Bassbreakers loop like a glove.
Im incredibly impressed by fender so far. Lets hope it’ll stand the test of time!

    • @EDCBushcraft
      @EDCBushcraft 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@WeDreammore hey! It was fantastic! It was because I don’t have the amp anymore, but that’s due to private reasons. It’s a little hard to dial in a very very low volume but I was able to practice even with a sleeping toddler in the next room and it still sounded full and delivered all frequencies. Because of a wife who doesn’t like rock music and sleeping kids it’s always one of the criteria an amp has to fulfill 👍🏼

Gotta say I'm still pretty in love with my 18/30. Sounds massive live and every time I've put it on a recording it's always delivered what I want over other amps.

I'd come across your channel through another video and this one came in my feed. It's quite hilarious, because I've been scouting this amp for a few months now in other reviews to pair with my DSL40 for a stereo rig. You're right, it sounds similar to the Marshall but still with some Fender character, which is what I want.
I don't typically use my drive channel(s), I have pedals and a multiFX I use for most of my gain, but it's nice to have it and it's actually not a bad drive/gain tone.

Try TWO Peavey Classic 30's HEADS in stereo.
    8 EL 84's.
60 WATTS with one channel switch for both.
In fact ANY small tube head/combo in STEREO
you will NEVER go back to MONO !
And, LIVE really easy to mix at lower and higher volumes.
Vocalists and drummers love it. STEREO.

You know what really grinds my gears? Fender release the BB15 combo, good amp right? So I try one in the shop, it's used but mint - as new. Got a great price on that and a nice little Tweed Blues jnr - portable wet/dry rig was the idea (and it still is). In the shop, I didn't notice any hiss or whine, hum etc. But then, once I got it home, and at rehearsal and started working it, gremlins appeared. Reverb turned up=high pitched whine. Gain up=loud hiss (way more hiss than in this demo, it starts with the medium gain setting at around 4-5, not that loud). The notorious FX loop problem, but that's not a deal-breaker because I tend to run everything into the front. So, it's still waiting to go to my tech to get sorted while I'm using a Laney Cub12r (nooo problems with that, just swapped out the speaker for a Vintage30) with my Junior for the W/D thing.
IF this BB30 had been around, I probably would have grabbed it instead. The weight is comparable, it's got more headroom, they *seem* to have ironed out most of the issues that plagued the BB15s we got here in Oz. And, ofc, when using just one amp the BB30 would be a better choice.
Live and learn, I guess - but WTF Fender? Just release both -WITH DECENT QC - and then folks who just want a 15watter will buy that one, and vice versa for the 30. But then they wouldn't make as much on the bottom line, I suppose.

What it actually is , is Fenders copy/take on a Marshall Bluesbreaker, which in fact was a copy / take of a Fender Bassman. I personally just bought a Fender Bassbreaker 15 W Combo and I am very pleased with all the tones, very loud, quite light, can be gigged and practice, home use, the only drawback with the 15 W is the gain stages are not footswitchable.

How much headroom does it have in the clean channel before it starts to breakup?

Hey, Shane! Any amps you know with great mid-range and treble for some great clean tone?

If you could turn the clean up to sound like the low gain on chan 2 you would have a killer, because it sounds fantastic

The amp sounds extremely noisy when idle but that's some nice uncharacteristic gain from Fender. Generally I really don't care for Fender amps but this one is intriguing.

Nice, like a Hot Rod Deluxe and a SuperSonic 22 had a love child. Nice that there are separate tone controls for each channel, with a mid control on the clean channel. Would have been great to have cascading gains on the drive channel.

This amp is like the answer to a Marshall DSL. And yes. You made the right choice. You cannot replicate that Marshall crunch.

well, I think I want one two. I just don't get why fender is so hesitant to put some sort of wattage switch on it, as pretty much everyone else does now, so we can use it at home too

Is this different than the bass breakers you reviewed in the past? Newer model?

Holy moly! At 10:30 you were rattling the wax in MY ears, I can only imagine what that was doing in your room! Does anyone know where the "bassbreaker" moniker came from? Odd name for a guitar amp.

@@intheblues not blaming you Shane , i was just unpleasantly surprised when i clicked that link , so i aborted and went to the other one instead ,the ozzy link was much more friendly .
i hate it when sites take the freedom to jump all over you ,and invade your personal space ,instead of just beeing happy a customer visits their site .
this amp for sure is a candidate to become my next purchace .
