A very busy day so only completed one idea- made a scribble all over page than colored in - I have found I enjoy crayons more than markers or colored pencils, I like the feel on the paper - have you noticed you like one or some over others? And maybe this changes on the day or topic? Again thanks
I totally have feel preferences! And they definitely change depending on my mood or what I'm doing. And I go through phases where I'll consistently choose one material over another. I also have smell preferences. That may sound strange but I don't like material with strong smells. This is one of the reasons I like watercolour paint over acrylic, for example. There are other reasons, but this is a biggie. I've been messing around with oil pastels recently too and got an oil stick to see how it differs. The oil stick has a much stronger scent so I don't like using it as much (although I do like that it dries whereas the pastels stay pliable.)

These are great ideas. Sometimes it seems that I just need start moving a pen/pencil and then the shapes and ideas begin to flow. ✏
