- Inidiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is coming out!
Time to make a prop from the franchise. The Grail Tablet prop replica from Indiana Jones and the last crusade using Insulation foam board. Easy DIY/CRAFT project for every fans out there.
My template is available for free (Go nuts! Build your own!):
www.therpf.com...
The Grail tablet was one of two markers left by a group of knights to guide adventurers to the Temple of the Sun, where the Holy Grail was kept under the watchful eye of the Grail Knight. It came into the possession of Walter Donovan, who kept it in his New York City apartment

Brilliant video. I really enjoyed watching how you made a replica of the grail tablet. I have a replica of the grail and the grail diary.
Thanks a lot! Much appreciated and thank you for watching! cheers! 😊
Amazing work. It's perfect. This is one of the few Indy replicas we don't see very often.
Wow! That's a very cool compliment! I'll take it 😃 Thanks!
That is outstanding work.
Much appreciated! 🤗
The idea and video are excellent! And thank you so much for the free template. You are going to have no trouble gaining subscribers.

Bravo man! That was so much fun to watch and a great addition to your collection!
Much appreciated Brian! Thanks for your support! 😊
That is pure genius but you have WAY more patience than I do with all that tracing and carving! LOL
Thanks a lot but honnestly, it wasn't so bad. I've done worst! 😅
Nicely done! Looks amazing
Thanks a bunch!
I’ve heard this bedtime story as well….❤
Great quote!
And gave us the template. What a hero.
I always give away the template. I want people to give it a shot and start building something :)
Amazing work Daniel !!!
Much appreciated Deak! Cheers!
Oh my goodness. That was freaking amazing. Not just the tedious carving, but casting it out of resin as well. An incredible piece. Nicely done, Sir!

Toujours aussi cool et professionel ! Fais gaffe tu saignes d'un ongle ;P Take care Bro !
Merci JP! Ca rend le weathering plus réaliste ;)
WOW
Thank you James! Cheers!
There’s another marker that’s supposed to be with the tablet. Entombed with the knights dead brother located within the city of Venice Italy. And also the name of the city is “Alexandreta”
indeed
Nice work! Beautiful job and finish work! Can you share what powder(s) you added to the epoxy?
Thanks a bunch! The powder is simply resin dye/color pigment in this case. Pretty standard if you type on Amazon or any craft store
WOW!!!
Cheers Andrea! ☺️
wow!
Cheers! Thank you for watching
Reelart make/sell altta cool Indian Jones replica items
They sure do!
I’d like to know what make the small engraving/wood carving tool you have is and if you’d recommend it? Thanks
I needed something very small and precise. Also, not very long. So, I used a small milling carbide (1 mm) and broke the tip to make it shorter. Cheers!
@@DaBuildthanks but I’m talking about the actual drill/tool. I have a dremmel but it’s too big to hold comfortably. Just wondering what brand yours was and if you’d recommend it? It looks small enough to work with comfortably.
@@truebelieverdesign5284 oh! Sorry! Yeah, this is my small one. Not very powerful but perfect for foam. If you type ''small rotary tool'' on amazon, you will find something similar and even better.
What is it that you used to carve out the letters? Awesome job! Thanks for the template. 3:15
Thanks! Rotary tool. Any would do.
That came out top notch! Thank God for baby powder...that silicone worked brilliantly, and it looked a joy to paint 👍
Yes ans yes! I'm really pleased with the result 🙂 cheers!
encore bravo. Au fait sais tu que ton nom de famille est originaire du sud ouest de la France ? pays du foie gras et du confit de canard ?
Tu viens de l'apprendre!
How much is the materials costs? That amount of mold liquid, resin, ect. Basically what is the cost for making one yourself with this process? Thank you. I know the casting is optional for people that just want to weigh down the foam version, but I'm curious as to the cost for making a more stable one.
I would say roughly 80$ for the rubber mold and another 80$ for the resin.
Very well done!! I have a question. In order to print the template what is the current size? ( I see you print four papers to ensamble the entire template) Thank you!!
Thanks! The scale is on the template
@@DaBuild perfect!
@@Zaragotham cheers!
Sorry to bother you but i don't quite get it. In the template spells "1 inch" but i don't know how to calculate ..
@@Zaragotham Well, you have to adjust the printing setting on multiple sheet of paper. In this case, I believe it was 2 sheets x 3 sheets if I m not mistaken.
Hello. Im curious what size that foam was. It looked like a 2ft x 4, 6 or 8ft x 1 inch? Cant seem to find that where I am.
Originally, it was indeed 2'x8'x1"
@@DaBuild The ones I find locally are owens 4'x8'x1" or 4'x8'x2" and they all have pre-sliced/notched lines at 16" all the way through the board which present a problem. I'm trying to figure out what would be a good material to fill those lines so this project could work. Any ideas given that most things I've looked at have salt?
@@wavetyler You could fill the crack with Polly Filla or car putty. Any kind of putty in fact. You will cover it with Mode Podge and primer after. You wouldnt't see the different. (test is on a small piece first thought)
New subscriber!
Is there a way you could modify this for a wood carving?
Thanks Gaby! I guess you could go the same process but, would take a bit longer and a bit harder.
@@DaBuild I personally like a challenge
@@GabyGibson Go nuts! 🙃
@@DaBuild Will do (but safely)!
What colors did you use for the paint?
Nothing super spcecific. Lots of different shades of acrylic paint.
I thought it would be made of sandstone
I thought about it afterward.
@ time for an upgrade!
@ I could!
OMG
Cheers 🎉
Amazing!!! But I hate the sound when you cut the styrofoam!!!
Hahaha! Merci JF. I actually liked that sound 🤪
@dabuild can you make the ark of the covenant from Indiana Jones raiders of the lost ark
I could but it's a bit too big of a prop. I wouldn't know where to put it and my wife would kill me 😅
You could hide it for the time being
Are you able to make one for someone?. 😊
Making another one is no so much the problem. Shipping it is tricky and quite expensive
Can you turn off the auto-generated chapters please? here is a link on how to do it: th-cam.com/video/3f1O9nVxXKw/w-d-xo.html
Done :) Thanks for the tip
Can you get rid of the auto-generated chapters please?
It's a TH-cam feature. I have nothing to do with it
wow ! man !!! MAJOR SUCCESS !!!! NICE WORK ...AND i LOVED YOUR VIDEO ... KEEP THEM COMING !!
Much appreciated my friend! Cheers! 🙏
I'd personally prefer not to see the finished prop before you've made it.. Ruins the excitement. 😳🤦🏻♂️
Indeed.....but it's kind of hard not to show it but I totally get your point! Cheers
@DaBuild ..We See it at the end though. That's the whole idea of watching the process. What's the rush to give it away? 😜🤣
@@grayssportsalmanac85 To show to entire process to other makers 🙂
@@DaBuild Why do you need to show the finished prop at the start to do that? 🤔
@@grayssportsalmanac85 might as well say that I also show it on the thumbnail 😅
