"Any Custom Shop guitar should be pristine" - Exactly. That's what I think also and that's why I wouldn't bother to fixing it by myself. We should pay for quality.
I’m waiting on my explorer to come back after sending it back right after buying it. Been over a month and I’m still waiting, they have promised me multiple times that the replacements are hand picked and it will be perfect. We will see what happens. I’m dealing with Gibson directly.
Another sad and dissapointing story, that's why I wanted to avoid the replacement or fixing procedure. When clients have to think about it in high end products and what they getting is a big problem - that's really a bummer
You would think the seemingly neverending stream of disappointed customers posting videos about Gibson products they purchased coupled with the rapid advancements of guitars at a much lower price point would scare Gibson straight about QC but they never learn, sadly... Shame on the vendor as well for missing the bridge issue...
I get having an issue with the bridge post being crooked and not having the correct paperwork. I don't get having issues with the placement of the strap buttons. I'm sure you at least looked at photo's of the guitar and could see were the strap buttons were going to be. I also don't understand your complaints about the neck. The specs. for the guitar (which includes the neck size, radius, shape and depth ect.) would have been listed on Gibsons site and Toman's site. So that sould not have been a surprise either. I didn't see what your issue was with the finish. You're describing it as thin. It's a nitro finish and Nitro is put on thin. I don't remember what the specs. are for the thickness of the nitro but it is very thin. The reason they use nitro is because it's thinner than a poly finish. If you put on a thick finish, it dampens some of the sustain, tone and playability. The reason old guitars with a thin nitro finish sound good is because the wood can breath and isn't dampened by a thick poly. Most of that is marking hype but the truth of the matter is simple. The finish is put on very thin and Nitro is in itself a thin finish. The bridge pin and paperwork are the only two issues I see. All of the other stuff should have been known it would have been easily seen in photos and reading the specs. from on of many websites. Again! I don't know what you were trying to say about the finish. I've sent back Gibsons also. They had bad blemishes that should have never left the factory I the condition it did. After a return or 2 they finally sent one with no issues. They are at least good with doing returns. I also thing when you spend upwords of $3K for a guitar, it should be perfect! I currently have 5 Gibson Les Pauls. It's sad that I also have mid priced guitars like Schecters and a lot of other guitars that range from $800 USD to $1300 USD. Every one of the other guitars showed up perfect with no issues and a perfect setup straight out of the box. All but one brand. I went through 7 EVH guitars. Starting with the cheaper Wolfgangs to the $1200 Wolfgangs. Every one was terrible. They were unable to be setup, missing parts and tons of blemishes. One even came and the volume and tone pots were in the wrong position. I gave up on EVH and bought a Kramer.
Man I know the purpose of the nitro finish. For sure the bridge is an actual issue but maybe you should check out my channel at first... the lacquer thing - my standard Gibson Explorer from 1990 year has it better, really. You cannot see the CNC machine throu it. So why I should not talk about it? I got another 2 reference points (other Gibson Explorers). Two other cases etc. I wanted to say it also to remember it. @@neworderofsanity No you don’t know what the issue is and you never admit when you’re wrong. Sorry, I don't see what your complaints are. Your choice. You pay your money and you have to be happy. But you are complaining about a lot of nothing. The bridge might be an actual issue. Hard to tell from what you showed. Nothing else you pointed out is an issue. I'm really sorry I clicked on this.
Apparently you didn't watch the video
For sure the bridge is an actual issue but look at the lacquer thing - my standard Gibson Explorer from 1990 year has it better, really. So why I should not talk about it, I got another 2 reference points (other Gibson Explorers). Two other cases etc. I wanted to say it also to remember it.
You dont understand that a 5k guitar has to be perfect? Perhaps you should stop replying you dont understand much of anything.
@@revtimewest You don't understand what hand labor produces. You want "perfect", whatever that is, but machine made plastic coated guitars. And maybe you should stop uploading videos if you can't handle comments.
I think you responded to wrong person :)
