  • We are on a 6 day epic overlanding trip through the Kruger National Park.
    Entering the park in the far north through Pafuri Gate, we are making our way down south, stopping overnight at Punda Maria, Shingwedzi, Tsendze, Letaba, Balule, and Satara.
    This is the first in a three part video series, focusing on the areas around Punda Maria and Shingwedzi Rest Camps.
    The Pafuri region of the Kruger Park is quite different to other areas of the park. Firstly its far north location means that it is a lot quieter than the more popular south of the park. There are less people, but also less of the big species of game than in the south too. One is far less likely to encounter the likes of lion, wild dog, and cheetah in the north. The north has abundant bird life and lesser spotted species than in the south too, such as Eland, hartebeest, roan, and tsessebe. Big herds of elephant and buffalo are abundant, and there is a wealth of bird life too.
    Join us on our journey as we make our way south from Pafuri to Phabeni gates of the Kruger National Park.
    All footage in this video was shot on a Canon EOS R mirrorless camera system, with an RF 24-105 f4 L series lens, an RF 14-35 f4 L series lens, a Simga 150-600 Contemporary series lens, a Garmin Hero 7 Black, a Garmin Hero 11 Black, and my Apple iPhone 14 Pro.
    My vehicle is a Ford Ranger Wildtrak (Thunder Edition) 2.0l bi-turbo diesel, fitted with a Front Runner Slimline II rack over the load bed, a Front Runner SlimSport rack on the roof, and a Front Runner Roof Top Tent.
    For power I use a National Luna DC25 battery pack which is wired into my vehicle for charging whilst driving, and a solar panel for charging whilst in camp. I have a Dometic CFX 35 litre fridge, which runs off the National Luna DC25.
    I also use a Jackery 200w Solar Power Station for charging cellphones, camera batteries etc.
    Power for the batteries comes courtesy of a 100W Jackery solar panel.
    I am not sponsored by any of the above brands.

    When travelling down to Shingwedzi, we were behind your vehicle when you captured the Zebra crossing the river on the S56. 🙂 You have them in your intro. By the time I could get a clear shot, they had already crossed. Great video. Brought back memories. Cheers Stu Bowie.

    Brilliant. I was sorry when it came to an end. Tight editing, and superb imagery. You clearly have an understanding and love for the bush. I am on board this bus for the full journey.

    Great episode. Kruger is a gem . Will be there for 2 months shortly . I notice you used a gas fire stick at Punda and firefighters At Shingwedzi? Preference? 🙌. Thanks for sharing

      Thanks for watching. Kruger is awesome! I don’t really have a preference between the firelighters and the gas stick. They both work well. In this instance it was just a convenience thing - my fire stick was packed in an ammo box strapped to my roof, and it was easier to use the firelighters as they were more easily accessible in the back of my vehicle 😊

    Out of curiosity, do you lower your tyre pressure in the Kruger??

    • @CampSeekerAfrica
      @CampSeekerAfrica  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! No, generally not in the Kruger. The gravel roads are all pretty decent with not much mud (unless there have been major rains) and generally no soft sand. An ordinary road sedan can manage the gravel roads, so no real need to let tyre pressure down.
