I really love this song and after listening to it, I looked up Dora Maar and her story is really sad. This song conveys her relationship with Picasso so well and makes it seem dreamy but also shows how dark it was. It basically summarizes how she was a muse and lover to him, and how he romanticised her pain in his work. All he saw her as was a "weeping woman" which Dora Maar said she did not appreciate. And once she stopped inspiring him in person, he kept her in memory as his ''masterpiece' - this was essentially just the version of her that he wanted to see and then disposed of her. OnlyOneOf really had me looking up art history at 1:00 AM but I'm glad I learnt about Dora Maar and more about Picasso, and I am glad that Dora Maar is now recognised as the artist she was as she couldn't truly express herself when she was with Picasso.
Especially the choreography it's a story and to me, its art. I did research on it too and truly it is sad and the way they portray is is beautiful and aching but...art

I've been just listening to dOra maar on repeat, and daydreaming about what the music video could look like, and I can't help but imagine that it takes place in an art museum with one of some of the members in a group just looking around, and then one of them looks at a painting and the painting is like a "room" you can peer into, and looking inside would show Junji drooping over a bed, with the sheets very wrinkley yet elegant, in a gloomy room, and he just looks totally miserable, but at the same time very beautiful (as the story of Dora Maar actually goes, Junji would be portraying Dora Maar). And as (another member of OOO, let's say it's KB!) walks by, guiding a bunch of tourists around, it's revealed that he is Picasso. (in the song dOra maar, it seems that Picasso only sees Dora Maar as a gloomy muse (basically what happened irl) and nothing more, and Dora Maar doesnt like this, but puts up with it (eventually leaves Picasso though). So from what I'm getting from that, or in my own interpretation, Picasso is harming Dora Maar and only using her for his paintings, praising her for being a masterpiece, when in reality, she is just sad and wants to be happy). The group sees this and looks back at the painting of Dora Maar (with Junji inside, looking back at them with pain and suffering in his eyes, just wanting his sadness to be taken seriously), and suddenly one of them yanks the painting of Dora Maar off the wall and runs out the museum with the rest of the group. They barely escape as only one of the guys from the group escapes with the painting of Dora Maar and the rest of the group sacrifices getting caught so the one guy can get away safely. (so much writing, waaaa!) Eventually, the one guy from the group (lets just say it's Nine!) arrives at his apartment, locks his door, rushes to his room, and places the Dora Maar painting down, allowing Junji to climb out, looking around very cautiously and afraid. Nine calmly reassures Junji that he's safe and doesn't have to worry. After a while of talking and getting to know each other, Nine really wants to draw Junji, so Junji poses and looks very gloomy and melancholic. Nine shakes his head, gesturing that he wants Junji to smile instead and look happy. Junji is taken aback, as he's only used to Picasso wanting him to look sad (as stated in dOra maar's lyrics, "you're just my grieving model"). Junji slowly puts on a smile, letting loose and seeming more comfortable and relieved than before. Nine drawing Junji is abruptly interrupted as multiple violent bangs and yelling come from the other side of his front door, hinting that the police have found him and want Dora Maar back. Nine puts down his sketchpad and faces the door, but feels Junji tug on his coat. He turns to look at him, and Junji looks terrified. Just by looking at him, Nine already understands that Junji doesn't want to be abused anymore and used for paintings at his mental health's expense. Nine grabs Junji's hand and rushes him to his balcony and points to a stairway that leads somewhere far away from his apartment. Junji turns to him, afraid, but seeming to have no other choice. He suddenly hugs Nine, thanking him without speaking a word. Nine returns the hug, and as he hears more violent bangs on his apartment door, he guides Junji to the stairs and let's go of his hand, setting him free from the prison Picasso put him in. Nine rushes to the front door, grabing the painting Junji came out of, and getting ready for the door to open. As the door bursts open, policemen pointing their flashlights and guns at Nine, he raises his arms, showing he's holding nothing but the empty portait that Junji resided in. He can do nothing but smile, knowing that Junji can now live a life without everyone romanticizing his pain. Waaa! sorry I wrote so much, but this just my vision of what the dOra maar music video could be. OnlyOneOf can do whatever they want, and I'm excited to see what they do for the music video, so this is in no way me demanding they make their music video in my vision! Thank you for reading! I gotta say this is my favourite song by far of all songs I’ve listened to in kpop. The lyrics and choreography match perfectly. They are so talented and I’m so glad I found them. The song overall feels kind of nostalgic (no idea why) and sensual. Judging by the whole background of dora Maar: the lyrics really display her feelings by showing how dark and kind of toxic parts of their relationship were (Picasso and Dora maar). Oh wow... I came here after seeing a fancam on Twitter and watching it on a whim. The sound of the song and "the man with the gorgeous long hair", Junji, had me curious. Wasn't expecting such an amazingly written song about the relationship between Dora Maar and Picasso. There's something really special about their voices and the nature of this song... I'm really glad I was able to discover this. I feel like I found a treasure today.
it's kinda refreshing to see a newer kpop group with more vocalists than rappers (even mill sings here) bc that's surprisingly quite a rarity these days lol. new kpop songs are very rap heavy but i'm glad ooo doesn't insert rap in their songs when it's not necessary. don't get me wrong--i love rap (even outside of the kpop genre) but most kpop groups just force it
