11 Rules that catch players out in Marvel Crisis Protocol

There a quite a few rules that can cause a little confusion, especially to new players in Marvel Crisis Protocol - it this video we cover off my top 11!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol is a tabletop hobby miniatures game set in the Marvel Universe. Players assemble, paint, and collect an ever expanding line of highly detailed plastic miniatures representing iconic Marvel characters. Players choose characters from their collections to form their own Marvel inspired dream team and then pit their chosen forces against each other on an interactive tabletop where the very terrain itself can be thrown, crashed into, and destroyed during the super powered showdown!

Guys - need to pin a new comment here as I have realised a mistake. MODOK should have not gained cover against Luke Cage as he is size 4, and the terrain was size 3. To gain cover you either need to be on top of the terrain, or the terrain needs to be the same size or larger - apologies for the mistake, just ones of those things that you realise afterwards.
This is singularly the best rules clarification video i've ever seen. Clearly worded, concise, excellent demonstrations. It's cleared a lot up about the game, thanks!

Still learning the game love it so far really helpful video. We were looking up rulings last night while I was trying out inhuman roster. The attack roll sequence really helped clarify things!

Glad you included the cover states from rocket and magneto. But also glad you said it was modification, so it won’t work against venom…

You’ll always get things wrong mate, I’m over 200 games in and I still forgot MODOK was size 4 so didn’t actually get cover 🤣😂🤦♂️

We were giving rocket double cover for a while until we learned more :) but it's always fun to play regardless!
Ha! Buts that’s my point, it lots of game’s you can be in light or heavy cover and it negates a damage no matter what - definitely one that catches most people out!

So a question that I thought of due to your examples in the video, say Luke cage used sweet Christmas on Modok and he gets a wild. I know that things like pierce will still get to take effect against Modok, but would luke cage really not get his throw as its after the attack has been resolved?
edit: ok this is a bad example because luke cage can only throw size 3 objects, but the basic principle still stands. If a character can throw a size 4 or greater character after the attack is resolved with a wild, will it affect Modok?
The wild would not effect him no. So you wouldn’t be able to trigger any conditions that are dependant on the wilds, as you trigger effects after dice have been modified, and it’s what your left with - it’s what makes MODOK such a threat.

I'm still trying get a handle on the a lot of the rules. Got a few games in with the gf but getting a lot of them is still a work in progress like how injuries work and objectives ect. Certain interactions and powers but heard I should download full rules
The online rule book is a living rule book that is being added to all the time. If you have TTS, it’s a really easy place to get in more games and increase you knowledge/skill level.
@@RichMidGaming thanks I'm.only a few games in but it's so great. I just fell in love with the game and only been week and a half maybe two weeks so need more games in. Had the how many activations and which counts and did not count as being issue first few like super powers not being and attacks being.
@@RichMidGaming please keep up a beginning the game for new players rules ect how to ease it, been so fantastic and our local group has 5 new players and it's been spreading
Great video. I think the one that gets a lot of people is rerolling rerolls. Being able to keep rerolling dice as long as you have different abilities. Like with spider sense and great responsibility. One that I've seen people play wrong though is triggering plucky attitude on star lord multiple times. Superpowers like that only trigger once.

Still don't understand how Luke can target Lockjaw who is behind a Truck.
I have the same question. Is it a mixture of cover and line of sight, with Lockjaw so close to the truck? If Lockjaw was standing farther away from the truck, does it change anything?
oh my, this game and it's simply complex interactions...
I actually think that for the most part, the rules are more simple than a lot of other games out there, it’s just not how we expect them to work (LOS being the biggest one)

Sorry, at 250 mark you say “we know Luke can draw line of sight...” but this came right after you explained that Luke could NOT draw line of sight because he is a 2 and truck is a 3 and Lockjaw is a 3. Doesn’t give me much faith in the rest of your tips, sadly, as i was really looking for a good intro and tips for beginners
Hey Robert, I’d suggest going back and watching it again. I state that Luke DOES have LOS to Lockjaw (as he is size 2 and the truck is size 3) but Lockjaw doesn’t have LOS to Luke as Luke is smaller than the Truck.
What I have stated here is correct, but can be misleading as the way LOS works in this game is very different to most out there.
Actually he states clearly that Luke CAN see Lockjaw, it is Lockjaw that cannot see Luke. This game allows for asymmetric LOS.
