  • Our first time to the William O Douglas Wilderness. All original plans to hike to the summit of Mt. Aix via an alternative route fell apart. Despite changing trip objectives we still fell in love with this wilderness as we experienced fall quickly set in over the span of an equinox weekend. Sometimes the best trips happen when one is forced to stay put and develop a more intimate relationship with one little area. Can't wait to return for another. Enjoy.

I have spent a lot of time on America ridge but have not explored this area. Thank for exposing it to me. Love your videos!!

American Ridge is on the agenda for future ventures. I am intrigued by the William Douglas and have a few longer trips planned if I can get the time frame right.

Mt Aix has been on my bucket list for years. I did a portion of the American Ridge trail years ago. The country was wide open with few visitors. We car camped at Bumping Lake a few years ago also. It was nice. Thanks for documenting and sharing!

That is awesome that you have some experience in this wilderness. I am just now realizing just how secluded it is. Feel like I have missed out on so much. Got one more weekend for some hiking, one option is to return and try Mt. Aix again. Thank You for watching and take care.

@@aaronfulwider779try it from the eastern approach if you havent already. Much more scenic and gentler than the 4000 ft wall from the Bumping side
