Still top heavy, but I hope this improves their 5 on 5 play, Skinner is ok but I think his numbers were inflated by playing behind a solid defence, still think that position should be upgraded, defence we still need help, another 2 RD would be nice, Nurse is overpaid and tries to overachieve which ruins his game. But I know it is impossible to move that contract so all I can hope for is that he plays the best game of his career next year. Just need him to be solid defensively.

I don’t want to lose Ceci though I’d rather lose Kane we don’t really need him anymore. Nurses contract is the biggest problem at 9mil it’s an anchor for this team we don’t need another offensive defenseman like nurse we need more solid defenseman
Nurse is just a nightmare. His $9.25mil contract eats up 10% of the cap, and he plays like total crap during the playoffs..... McD should tell his buddy to go to Anaheim if McD & Co really wants to win a cup.
So. They were all there to the end. Gotta make it worthwhile playing in Canada. I think Skinner's addition is good because he's really good on his skates, from what I've seen anyway. He could've been a figure skater,I believe
I don’t understand where that defence help is supposed to play if you don’t trade Ceci. You gotta trade Ceci to open the roster spot for the Dman who can improve nurse
No trade in Kane's contract. He wants to be here. He wants a cup also so he isn't going anywhere.
IF KANER can get back to year 1 form, then we have potential 30-40 goal scorers in KANE, SKINNER, ARVIDSSON, MCD + potential 50+ goal scorers in HYMAN & DRAI! Holy smokes, this is like going back to the 80's boys !!! 😂
@@fthockey I would prefer him to stay over all the other names that have been thrown around for a trade. When he's healthy, he adds a level of grit that we always seem to be missing. It also seems like he thrives here in Edmonton
yes, Kane is a rare breed, Oilers need his grit for sure, can't just give up on him coz he was wreaked with injuries last season
@@fthockey yes! I hope we give him one more year or at least wait until trade deadline. The thing is, when he's healthy, all he can ever do is contribute where as players like Ceci and Nurse seem to be a liability when they're on the ice and since we can't move Nurse.... but maybe Nurse will surprise us next year and have a turnaround season 🙃

Edmonton needs a break out of their end , first pass defenceman. None of Edmonton's D are great first pass players .
They need a D who can pass it up , not give it up.

I wondered this question every game telling myself why Vinnie can't land the puck ever &/or F*cked up passing every time. While I thought Stecher was pretty good at landing the puck; also pretty scrappy for a little guy!! Hope he gets the chance to play more 24-25 season!!!

Mr. Dithers would never have done half of those moves...maybe less.....Jackson did a great job. That's what I never liked about Holland he sat idle until there was no one left...then signed some 4th liner or a reclamation project.
Holland was like a an old man waiting for the sunset.... he was way too conservative and wasted a few good yrs of McDrai.... and also giving Nurse the horrible contract.... he can now go back to Detroit since he mentions it like every press con !!

Thing is, they arnt all in. They didn’t have to give up any draft picks or assets for additions. So they can still make moves at the deadline
Crazy magic done by JJ , getting all these high end players at near dirt cheap deals just by UFAing, we still got some stash left to grab a top dman by deadline, this is a MUST if we want that cup, the same D core will not be able to complete the mission!

The curse of 1988 will continue in perpetuity. You can add all the overpaid players you can afford ( like you already have), and it won't make one iota of difference. Selfish superstars, burger flippers for D men, complete sieves for goaltending, and absolutely no heart. You play in the softest division in pro hockey, and it makes you think you are special.
And where does YOUR team play in ? If your team ain't in South Florida then you can just zip it

yup they totally choked up in game 7 and McDavid and Draisaitl were ghosts in that game also, plain and simple..now they are stuck soon having to pay Draisaitl 14M per season
