Beautiful car indeed. I had one then the oil embargo hit, gas prices increase and I noticed my GTO loved the gasoline, so I switched it for a 66 Chevy Impala that now I wich to have kept. Lovely cars.
When I was 16 I ran out of gas and my dad told my to pour a little in the carb and prime it. I had my buddy try to start it and this little voice in my head said stand back. Boom fire every where. Good I listened.
I bought my 1966 in 68 tri power 4 gear .It's black on black hardtop.....getting ready to restore.....I sure would miss that original paint...update ignition....
No choke never pump the carburetor while you're cranking it it will flood the engine that's if there's any gas in the carburetor pump it two or three times start it up and then give it some gas.
That's a beut! My first boy friend had one exactly like it!!! I learned how to drive in it; the front wheels would leave the road on take off!!! Kinda scary!
That was a great car at the time guy had me check out his Pontiac he blew the engine up so I jacked it up looked under it and right where the brake line was the two front rods went through the pan missed the brake line and the second two rods went to the pan missed the brake line the brake line was right between the two sets of rods imagine that I told him his engine was toast he's lucky it didn't chew the brake lines those those fashion street rod guys would leave their foot in it till something let go!
Chevy rally wheels? I would have traded for Poncho rally wheels before I put it up for sale. Looks like they had a lot of blue paint to use up. Still my favorite year Goat.
Whats the asking price? I had a 67 back in 1978. Still kick myself for getting rid of it. Working on a 67 lemans now. Beautiful car. They sure don't make them like they used too.
Mine was a 67 Lemans convertible I bought off a car lot in Fort Lauderdale in ‘72 and paid $975.00 I was 16 . I paid Pop back $40 a month which included my insurance. No Brag just Fact.
I had a 66 with 3/2 and 4 speed,. Blew 2 rear ends. Mopars keep taking me down, so I sold it and bought a 1967 dodge RT. In 1966 the GTO was only avail with a 389 cu in. So if this is a 1966 then it is not original engine.
Hello Tim thanks for your comments. Yes, it had a replacement motor well when you went to Mopar, it was Mopar or no car that’s the way I was, but I love my GM products as well so he’s gone one of each lol 😎
Hello Rob yeah you would’ve thought but I came up there, spur the moment and wanted to look at the car and here it run I just decided to film it That’s when I first started this TH-cam channel. I can’t believe it’s gone to 120+ of views. Looking back at it now thank you for your comments. Happy Fourth of July 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ever notice that when Ford did away with the Fairlane or the galaxy 500 gm picked it up the gto is a Fairlane with a different grill the cutless was similar the early cutless the Chevrolet Chevelle the impala all similar to the Fairlane the 60s take a 5.0 bore it out to a 5.3 or 5.7 liter you look a an old formally tractor kinda looks or the red and white color built after a 57 Chevy good ol farm boys probably got tired of riding bike put a hit and miss may tag motor or old pump motor on the bike a broke his arm so they thought they'd make it faster lol knowing if ya wreck it will possibly hurt but didn't stop them the old mercs look like a Studebaker even some of the old mack and cw trucks about like the Ford raptor hell man gm been building the Ford raptor for years they were called hummers lol

Hello Jerry a brand new 66 GTO that must’ve been nice fond memories. I’m sure yeah in that car there they had to put a 400 in it. It was a non-original motor so still a nice car though keep them GTO memories alive. Take care.✌️
Hello Mark, the car is located Raabe racing in Bunnell Florida. Just look it up on the Internet. I’m on my way to mecum. Ask for Ed. He was asking 49K I don’t know if it’s old or not.
I'd go FUEL INJECTION, Electronic ignition, etc... none of the old stuff... (and don't care if it's original- it would be BETTER).. Keep the bodies original- but IMPROVE the engine and brakes... (with power disc) etc..
What a beautiful car 🎯 I'd love to have that on my driveway 💯💯 Pontiac is my favorite 💯💯💯
Paul you only go around once you gotta have what you want dude ✌️
Absolutely perfect and beautiful, GTO was one of the greatest muscle cars ever. Especially the '66 models.
Couldn't agree more!
Had a 66 drop top and 70 Goat 🐐 my 2 favorites they are rolling works of art in their own ways. Boy are they fast. Love me some Geetee Os...
I agree with the best muscle cars out there 👍
Beautiful GTO!!

When I was 16 I ran out of gas and my dad told my to pour a little in the carb and prime it. I had my buddy try to start it and this little voice in my head said stand back. Boom fire every where. Good I listened.
Good stuff
I bought my 1966 in 68 tri power 4 gear .It's black on black hardtop.....getting ready to restore.....I sure would miss that original paint...update ignition....
A simple adjustment on the choke would have it running first crank
Godfrey ran out of gas dry takes a lot to get carb bowl full weak feil pump probably thanks for your comments👍
Beautiful
Unless the engine was swapped out 66 gto had a 389. 400 didn't come out till the next year. I know, I had a 67 gto.
I had a 66 , got it leave after getting back from Vietnam , blew it and my brother and I put a 400 in it. Wish I still had it!
Wow, love the pre 68 gto's.
power to weight oo la la !
Hello Bug no doubt that ride in that one made me a believer thanks 😎

The carb is an discontinued Holley model that is now sold by Summit Racing.
Can't believe he forgot how a carburator works.
Mine takes about 6 tries to start. Its the new gas with ethynol.

Hello Troy, yes I agree you should not have Chevy rally wheels on a Pontiac. The Pontiac rally wheels are the bomb. 👌
Popular color back in the day
yes love it on all gm cars !!
Whats the asking price? I had a 67 back in 1978. Still kick myself for getting rid of it. Working on a 67 lemans now. Beautiful car. They sure don't make them like they used too.

Hello Mark, the car is located Raabe racing in Bunnell Florida. Just look it up on the Internet. I’m on my way to mecum. Ask for Ed. He was asking 49K I don’t know if it’s old or not.
@@MUSCLECARCORNER426 ok I appreciate it, I don't think it's worth that much! I'd think it should be closer to $25k thank you!

Need fuel injection
Hello agreed we wouldn’t have all those problems 👌✌️
Pontiac didn't make a Big Block.
More like Pontiac didn't make a small block. Those Pontiac motors are all bigger in size than the SBC motors
@@christophersambuco9414 326?
the carburetor failed just like Trump
Big & fat and like Donnie.
How much are you asking for it and do you still have it
Hello Charlie car has sold ✌️
Man pump that damn carburetor!.. you're frustrating me.
Big block Pontiac????
Zackly. No such thing.
And while they're at it, they should throw a 1050 dominator on it.
(Clearly they don't know how carbs work either)
Ride on mehoff 😎
