saw the spinners in concert 4 times during the 70's - great times
My dad loved them ❤
Awesome! Thanks so much for posting! My parents would take us every year the Spinners came to the Theatre Royal Norwich! Always a great show - brilliant musicians and entertainers all of them. A favourite cassette was always the Spinner's English collection that went on the car tape deck every time we took the long drive off on family holidays. Such good memories!
This was there farewell tour so sad nothing today compares in folk and fun
I saw the Spinners at the. Co-op fete, Ipswich, in 1976. They sang Windmill in old Amsterdam. I'm 60 now, and was singing this to my grandchildren just the other day.
We always watched The Spinners at Christmas every year. They were wonderful and funny and just so down to earth. We had some of their albums RIP Cliff and Tony.
So many happy memories .
Especially Hughie and his 12 days of Christmas!
Jo Le, I took mum to see them live once they were fantastic,
@@sidevans5066 😊👍👍
Been trying to find that on TH-cam.
One of the highlights of Christmases gone by.
The Sports Guild Manchester.
Went to see them in nottingham in the 70s christmas with a friend still remember it well
Great memories as a kid listening to the Spinners, I thought they were fab!
I had them staying in my house when I was a kid they were lovely
My Dad was their manager in the 60`s
@@janestirling7970 that's very cool!
I well remember the Sharpville Masscare !!! The death knell for White Ararpthied Government in SA.
Simply the best! Superb musicians, heartfelt lyrics, could make you laugh and cry.
The Spinners a unique sound that has not changed from when I first met that sound at Gregson's Well Pub at the city end of West Derby road, not old enough to drink legally buy I looked old enough to get in. Thanks for the memories lads, Very sorry that two members are not with us today.
Remember them coming to the isle of man and meeting them such a great bunch of guys who always put you at your ease
Just listening to this particular show on the eve of our anniversary of our first date. It was the Spinners at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester.
That was 53 years ago, we came to Canada in 1977 and have been married for 50 years this year. I guess the Spinners have a lot to answer for.
Brilliant!! ♥️♥️💙
i was so thrilled to meet the big guy out the spinners when i was a panel beater and welder i aged 17 worked on the austin cambridge estate which was the car they used to carry the gear in what a quite giant of a man give us tickets for the phil to see them met thee others later on memories are made of thisxx
I'm russian and understand almost nothing but listening to this made me strangely happy
They certainly aren't singing English at 7 minutes.
Thank you, traditional English men who share the same values as you & I - 🇷🇺 🤝🏴 🙏🏻peace bro
I grew up listening to this band.
I used to live next door but one to Hugh Jones when I was kid in Childwall, Liverpool and we played as children long before he picked up a guitar! Just told my 15 year old grandson to keep practicing.
Mum used to play they’re tapes for us as kids loved them then love them now such a shame you can’t get any of music anywhere
I've got their cds from Amazon. Love them.
Love these guys
Back in the 1970's, I remember going to see the The Spinners at the East Ham Granada, with my Mum and Nan. At that time, I didn't have any appreciation for music. It was only a couple of years ago that I rediscovered The Spinners, while I was browsing here on TH-cam.
Sitting by the bonfire for New Year - wonderful memories
I met Cliff at my Uncl's brother's house party in Manchester. He is a genuine nice guy.
I can remember watching them live back in the 60s and one of the songs they sang that night was Asikatali, it was a protest song about the way the black people were treated in South Africa for many years, if you get chance have a listen, it's truly a very moving song and it took some gumption to sing it at the time especially in the political climate the way it was.
One of their songs was just on the radio and it reminded me of my dad who played their songs when I was growing up. Just listen to this and them talking I understand why he liked them so much. Not just because he was Walsh.
Thank you.
The first album I ever bought was The Spinners & went home & played it on my Fidelity UA4 stereo. :-)
Oh what lovely memories this bought back, do The Spinners still perform?
I like the Spinners U. K., their harmonies were glorious!
Loved the Spinners, saw them many times in Birmingham, through the years.
Me too, great memories.
Used to get played these at school. Looking back they are such happy songs.
Me too. Every morning assembly. 😆
I grew up listening to the spinners, they introduced me to folk music which remains a love of mine forty years on
My dad used to play these guys in his work van decades ago - even then, as a lad, I can remember how much I resonated with them. Music to feed you!
