I like how there isn’t a cognitive Makoto, I mean, it makes sense why since Makoto has nothing to do with Sae’s career life, but it also shows she doesn’t view her own sister in any distorted way.
Because she cares about her sister
Cognitive Akechi would be cool. Maybe her assistant or something. Since she probably doesn't see them as equals
@@ci7210 It would have been neat to see a Cognitive Akechi spying on the group and telling Shadow Sae what they're up to. She could even use that information to cheat in a minigame or something.

I feel like the old dialouge played more into the game aspect of the palace and the new dialouge played more into her distortion of achieving victory at all costs.

Just beat it, I don’t know why but it kinda sucks. Waaayy less fun than the original and a weird difficulty spike, at least for me
Bryce Cartwright She was pretty easy. I’d argue that she’s even easier here than in vanilla
I guess it was just me, I was only playing on normal but kept getting one shoted when she did her almighty attack

That outfit she's wearing, her introductory dialogue and that both of them turn into ugly monsters to fight reminds me of the P5S Alice. (In Japanese dialogue both of them even go straight into "DIEDIEDIEDIEDIE" if you damage them enough)

Sae was supposed to say "If you want a fair fight, then to Hell with the game. I'll crush you by force. Fair and square, just as you like" instead.

You could've covered Makoto's psy weakness with Psy Wall.
I use Haru. Since the strikes are magic, she can spam Makarakarn to keep the attacks bouncing.
Sae will always gain access to one of your parties weaknesses and will focus on them with it. You have Haru spam Makarakarn on that ally, and Sae will never be able to damage them. This stops working when she rolls almighty, but by that point Haru has enough damage to hold her own.
@@pickcollins9910 You could use the Ring of Vanity to nullify a party member's weakness and basically give them access to a Makarakarn that drains instead of repelling.
@@robo-raven2157 this implies that each party member going into the fight has one (I currently only have 1 in my current run and forget where to get more/if possible)
How fitting for Makoto to deal the final blow
I should really note for this fight that while Sae's weaknesses are never displayed, damage multipliers are still applied based on the typing she gets. E.G: If she gets Ice, she will still take double damage from Fire, if she gets Psycho-kenesis she'll take massive damage from nuclear. I would highly recommend using Ann and Makoto for this fight for consistent debuffs on Sae's attack and buffs for your own defense. Haru can also extremely useful as based on the type Sae rolls she will ALWAYS target a team member who is weak to that type allowing you to set-up her magical barrier move who's name I forget.
Last note is that during the last phase of the fight when she enters desperation her attack will go up, but defense down but that also means she can more or less one shot Akechi who seems vulnerable to bless type damage. In this phase I would strongly recommend def buffs and using the Ring of Greed to output high damage.

I attacked as well on my first go, but just defended or swapped members of the Phantom Thieves after that.

Strategy for this fight: Before you get the command to stop her cheat, just spam Makarakarn and Tetrakarn on all your party members. Extra defense for when the real fight begins. Honestly, this fight is really easy that way.

I like the new Sae fight its intresting to see what attributes they land in be it would be great to see what the attributes do.

Hers is the only one that actively transforms, none of the others do this.

easiest way i found is when the roulette gets to allmighty just use items/cast spells that reflect physical damage she kills herself

I was extremely unlucky in my fight. Sae rolled Almighty at the end and almost killed me. At the time I thought it was scripted.
i think it is scripted? Iirc once u get over half health she always switches to almighty, which has the benefit of her having no resistances

Lol I struggled so hard with this fight until I just Tetrakarened on everyone and reflected the big physical attack signalling her second phase back at her with everyone
To see Makoto defeat Shadow Sae? So awesome.
Tbh the element to boost her is cool, but I kind of missed when we were betting and playing her game while she could have a draw-back. Kind of just wish they had mixed those elements together. Especially cause when she gets an element you can easily find a way to block it.
Agreed because it makes the first phase of Royal's version seem kinda pointless.
Little note, if she hits the almighty symbol on the roulette wheel her power level flies through the roof.

I’ve always thought that Sae’s Palace with made by Goro’s persona power to get the main character in jail to be assassinated mainly because she’s the only other boss/character that uses desperation that Goro uses in his boss battle just a theory (a fan theory lol)

Nah, Sae legit has a Palace. She's envious of her male coworkers getting praise and promotion while she's stuck taking care of her "useless" sister and getting nothing.
Of course, Akechi uses this to his advantage to set up the arrest.

I don’t know why the boss music just ended after she revealed her true form why did it change to the song that plays when someone unlocks their persona?
because she "awakened" to her true form.
The system in p5R tells you to choose your bet wisely and you will get benefits or lose them the thing is you only get to bet once in royal it made sense in p5 because the panels didn’t change but now you only get to bet twice and the time you actually win is when it’s for money that’s not really a benefit so that was one of the reasons I hated this boss

Yeah, it is weird mostly because it's not Akechi's VO who delivered that line. It gets even weirder if you see the animation where Akechi is also not the one who delivers the line either. Not sure what happened there.
Considering out of the team both of them have personals relationship with Sae. Also if you talk to Akechi in the Jazz Club at one point he'll say he likes talking to Sae and hope to take her out to a real sushi restaurant. It made sense

Classy Doctor yeah but if you have one that doesn’t take as much damage as others would. A persona with an almighty ability etc. You also have to guard because some attacks can basically be one shot
If you take too long during the fight she rolls almighty and pretty much Berserker Dances through ur whole team. It can get rough if you aren’t equipped to handle it

Arkoil please speak for yourself and don’t act like you know me. You don’t need AoA to deal damage if you utilize baton pass correctly.
This boss is clearly the worst in the game, but not everyone has a pity party over it.
I have no idea how some people don't notice the glass panel...

Unless she hits almighty on that wheel, in which case you're absolutely fucked.

In the second phase, her attacks stack if she landed a critical on anybody. My Joker was wiped out from this several times.

the dlc is going to come out when the game is officially released. Raoul isn't a bad persona, it's jokers third tier persona (despite being dlc...) but there's far better choices, although they make the game too easy.

God, i hate this boss fight. At least on hard. Got wiped out with almighty skills a few times, than she was nearly dead only to hit joker critical at her last turn. And everytime you have to play the useless p1 again and again and again. As much as i love this game, but the bosses getting really worse imo.
These comments have told me that Almighty isn’t guaranteed, to which I’m calling bullshit. She hit it on the 3rd spin on all 3 of my attempts.
Yeah she'll ALWAYS get almighty when you reduce her health by 2/3rd's.

I'll be honest, this fight was really easy as I just used magic ointment whenever she does the elemental attacks, as she usually targets the one who's weak against it and just crushed her lmao

Sae's monster form was actually extremely effed up and unfitting personally.
Imo it kinda represents how she's desperate nd ruthless she turned into in a society completely against her just because she's a woman(the armor all over her body and having such giant weapons). To be resentful to such a reality would be an understatement, she's been pushed back time and time again, forced to take care of Makoto, having a high school being treated better than her despite being his superior and way above him in rank. She's still seen as incompetent by the higher ups as shown having her deadlines cut short bc they didn't care from the beginning(they were also doing cover ups) . While her form is quite extreme it would make sense to have such a ruthless shadow bc she's had to bottle all that shit up ever since she got into that industry.

Shame Leviathan's health is made of paper. It could've been a very challenging and brutal fight, and if you take too long it can be. But most of the time (like here), you just one roulette her and she never gets to truly flex her variety and utterly brutal physical and gun attacks.
