Isn't the point of vaporwave itself to show that the 80's and 90's were times that thrived souly on consumerism and neoliberal capitalism, and it seeks to critique that? Things weren't better, neoliberalism just hadn't lost it's charm yet.

Yep, this can be confusing sometimes xD As you said, we may consider it "vaporwave" because it's how Windows96 is recognized... but we could say that it is more "vaporsynth" as well, since it seems all songs in this album (and even all or almost all of his songs) are original compositions... with some samples, if you want, but not remixed/retuned old songs like sometimes happens on vaporwave

You describe smoke as black, thick, and I imagine a heavy billow, undulating and nearly laying over as it is carried on the steady breeze. I wonder....could you detect any trace of a scent on the breeze....? Not to be too morbid (I hope) I've read/heard it's an unmistakable scent, potent in that a little goes a long way , while too much and it rapidly blooms into a cloying, acrid odor which coats your tongue. In the beginning, they had the tech to do what they wanted: change matter, travel the stars, even extend life itself.
But the technology was not the issue, it was at the heart of the quantum universe in which conscious beings had decided to play around with. Probability means nothing when you are trapped between universes.
A world away, broken, fractured, deathly... it exists beyond comprehension. It is the last bastion of the universe's cry to existence, but the beginning of a new omniversal cognizance.
The journeyman, Chraores, takes his first step into the Netherworld, but sees only nothing besides... the supernova of infinite time expanding outwards.

Ahora de egresado, volver a escucharlos me trae recuerdos de cuando tomaba el metro y la micro, con el frio de invierno que te da a las 7 de la mañana. Scissor hasn't always been the cold blooded paper murderer you see on the picture above. In fact, if it wasn't for how poor his parents were, he could have turned out to be a lawyer or a doctor due to how smart child scissor was. The problem is, his parents were very poor and could hardly feed 3 persons along with the rent, so paying a school that could help him develop his many talents was a big no. But still, if Scissor's parents weren't rich of means, they were rich of heart and wanted his son to get an education and not having him become a miner like the rest of his family for generations. So they settled for the nearest school, which despite not having a great reputation, was affordable to the family.
Main problem was, this school was made of about 80% of rocks, and at the time there were massive ethnic tensions between rocks and the rest of rock-paper-scissors kind, and Scissor was constantly beaten up by the many rock gangs in and around the school. The many problems he faced made him build up huge amounts of rage, and had his grades falling to what was expected from a pair of scissors from a poor family.
Fast forward two years and Scissor fell in love with a new comer from another country. She was a beautiful paper with a voice to charm angels. But the rocks, still as intolerant as they used to be were also harming Paper. It was harder, as their social status as rocks made their hits fall flat on paper, but their number allowed them to win the fight anyway. But with his new found determination, Scissor worked out like crazy, tried to gather enough strength to beat a rock in a one-on-one battle, but despite failing everyday to protect Paper, he felt he was getting closer to protect her as days passed by.
One day, Scissor tried to confess his love to Paper, he went in front of her house, knocked, but no answer. He opened the door and saw the one thing that made him loose his mind. It was Paper, making out with not any rock, but Brad Rock, one of the rare rocks that would still pose a problem to beat, despite how strong he became in a few months.
This sight was what made him realize. Not only the rocks are toxic beings that reject every form of existence that isn't their own. Papers don't care at all about defending themselves and would sell their bodies if the rocks could save their lives. Struck by this painful realization, Scissor knocked out Brad Rock by surprise before murdering his own lov. It was painful for him, but compared to the agony of having her cheating on him with someone he tried to protect her against, it felt relieving to Scissor. After committing murder, he knew going home would put him in danger, so instead he ran away, finding shelter in a far right party called Scissors Supremacy, which was advocating for a clean world, with only one race to remove all the social stigma there was at the time. Knowing this party wasn't very popular in the country, their leader decided to launch a coup, which would be complicated as the president had 2 rocks as body guards, and those were trained fighters, unlike the school bullies.
After the coup ended in relative success, the Scissors Supremacy loosing about half their members in the fight against the two rock guards, having even Scissor injured, the party had control over the country. Within 4 years, the policemen massacred each and every rock and paper and encouraged massive scissors immigration to build their populations back. With an army personally trained by Scissors and a few Scissor nations, a World War started. It was mostly the Scissors on one side and the Rocks on the other. The Papers were either neutral out of fear of the stronger Scissors, or were supporting the Scissors against Rock global oppression.
Each and every game of rock paper scissors you had was actually a remake of a battle between the 3 races, and in each of them, the scissors get stronger. It is believed that in a few year, the Scissors will be as strong as the Rock, making global Scissor domination a possibility.
