  • The Nairobi area of Kileleshwa is home to many people. It is situated around 5.2 kilometers (3 miles) away from the heart of Nairobi's commercial sector. The neighborhood was formerly a low-density, leafy suburb, but since zoning restrictions changed in the early 2000s, there has been a dramatic explosion of high-rise apartments in the neighbourhood. It caters mostly to Nairobians in the upper middle class.
Within the Westlands Sub-county, Kilimani is situated around 5 km (3 mi) west of the central business center of Nairobi. The Kilimani sub-location covers the Kilimani estates as well as a portion of Upper Hill that includes the Hurlingham and Caledonia estates. It is located north of Woodley and east of Kileleshwa, with the Kirichwa River serving as a major divider. Like many other early communities, this one was created by British colonialists in the early 20th century as a residential enclave exclusive for white people. Until the 1960s, racial integration was not possible. #foryou
