Great content Harriet. But please remember, these are not rich neighbourhoods. This is upper middle class accomodation. The mansions are in Muthaiga, Kitisuru, Karen, Spring Valley, Nyari, just to mention a few.
The only cityscape feature Nairobi lacks is the beach.. it's got forest, woodland and savanna in different places. However its green places are rolling relief as compared to say berlin which is very green but flat. Plains in tropical Africa are associated with drought conditions. All three are upper middle to upper class neighborhoods with three characteristics: clean air to breathe, low density settlement and an all year homeliness
Kileleshwa, Lavington, kilimani.,milimani, Riverside are upper middle class . used be rich neighbourhood until 80s but NOT anymore. Rich neighbourhood in nairobi include Muthaiga, gigiri, thigiri, kitusuru, Runda, northland, Karen, Hardy, and spring Valley.
Am a Kenya now working in Qatar, my comparison Qatar na Kenya is, Qatar road infrastructure and electricity they are far ahead, but residential houses, hiyo watauchie....oooh
Very nice vlog capturing the middle and upper middle class areas of Kileleshwa and Kilimani. The type of high rise Apartments you are seeing in these two areas are a new concept otherwise most people in Nairobi live in houses, bungalows and town houses.
Hi Harriet, please next time avoid taking videos of the statehouse or any military installations cause it's prohibited and incase they noticed you recording they follow you and hell breaks loose ....Try visit Riverside and spring valley,it's just around or near Kilimani area...Kilimani or kileleshwa are not rich neighbors, they are middle class zones, try visit muthaiga or kyuna or Karen, that's where the big boys/ladies live..Nairobi truly is exotic and beautiful...thanks for the show..Enjoy your stay
This is a major reason some of us are scared to visit these countries; by nature we are just rebellious against authority and we know in SA the law is on our side.. why would just filming a military installation in an urban setup be a crime?! 🤷♂️
@@davidmabalu4635 terrorism cannot infringe the right of ordinary citizens to film their lives…. You are blowing things out of proportion. No one is going to go after you because of filming anything that is in public. State House is right in the middle of the city and on one of the busy roads in that partt of Nairobi full of residences and businesses. State House itself is like 2 km inside the grounds of 700 acres! This madness of exaggerating terrorism is nonsense. It's like as if citizens can't enjoy their country and unfortunately people for it. Why should people change their lifestyles just because on an isolated terrorist incident. If I was a TH-camr I would film everything that is in public sight and dare anyone to arrest me. With google earth, one can see anything they want on this earth from a vantage position, up in the air!
@@tozamilefunaniPure madness. Some Kenyans believe this nonsense, I myself don't. The government is there to serve you not intimidate you.
