I'm german. My favourite snacks are actually childhood sweets. Kinder Pingui, Hanuta, Kinder Schokobons are all lovely. If you like caramel, i suggest Riesen, a dark chocolaty toffee surrounded by more dark chocolate. For savoury snack i'm more used to make them at home myself, the most common i know is just bread fried in a pan with butter and salt

"Murukku" is actually a very popular snack in my native place in India. It's salty, a little spicy and crunchy. You can also pair it up with some "Masala Chai"(easy to make though) which is yet another popular beverage. This actually makes up a great evening combo and personally my favorite.
