Dave, I’m a theistic agnostic who has followed you for years. (And yes, I’m one of the “kiddos” that discovered you here on YT when I was 21; I’m now 24.) I loved what you said about how one’s moral code is inherently spiritual, no matter what set of faith beliefs (or lack thereof) it comes from. Your principles are applicable to everyone, not just Christians. Also, you have the right to express your beliefs through your work since this is still the United States!!! If the haters don’t like it, they don’t have to view your content! Thanks to you, I have a plan for my future and have gotten rid of the victim, “little guy can’t get ahead” mentality you mentioned here. Thank you for everything you do, and those of us who seek wisdom will always appreciate our “boomer” Uncle Dave. 🙂
Because you are a Christian, straight shooter and sincerely care about the Americans and their financial peace, I am continually lifted by your instruction. But I am turning 50 Sunday’ so I’m pretty “old fashion” too😇 THANKYOU Dave and co! Jolie Northern California
I am South African and I have saved emergency funds worth ZAR 26,000 which is equivalent to US$ 1,857! My next step is to get rid of all debt. I can't wait for my debt free scream. Dave is a blessing all over the world.
I thank the Lord that I found Dave here on TH-cam! It's a real life changer and plus I continue to listen so I can stay Motivated and stay on track. I CAN DO THIS! I learn so much and thank you for the callers that are brave enough to call and tell their story. Most importantly THANK YOU DAVE 😊 I APPRECIATE YOU!
Man I wish I would have discovered Mr. Ramsey and his teachings 10 years ago! If I had the mentality that I have now, thanks to your book and videos, I would be doing even better. The good news is it's never too late.
I was 23 yrs old working 60 hours a week, made 70k, but had 14k student loans, 3k credit card debt. My boss let me borrow his truck and dave Ramsey was the voice on the CD he left. Now I'm 30 and worth 600k. This stuff works. And most of it is what used to be known as common sense
We millenials here 😊 paid off 65 bands of student loans and 18 000 car in 2.5 years. On 55 000$ to 70 000$. Saved down payment Bought a house with 25% down on 15 years and our goal is to pay off in 5 years. LETS GOOOOOO. Income is much higher now 🤪 i stay home with the kids during the week and work weekends got 3 side hustles
@@Quarantina237 Most tithing is basically membership dues to a religious themed country club. Banging music, coffee cafes and short term poverty themed vacations to already Christian countries to build things that skilled workers have to redo isn't always the best idea. Some funnel money into antigay groups too. You can be charitable in other ways that may have a much higher impact than local congregational giving.
Dave, you are 100% right on this topic. I lived like you teach and I made sure my children lived the same. We all own our homes and are out of debt and live well. Those that tell you you are wrong are doomed to struggle their whole lives.
Thanks Dave Ramsey. I'm not Christian, but I do feel like it's a mistake to believe that we have nothing to learn from religious people / those who have a different moral code.
Yes you can learn something..but maybe the religious people should try to be a better example and not be too preachy...turns some people off if you are too preachy and a hypocrite.
The only time somebody should be spending money instead of saving it is because they are terminal. My wife was in her 30s and was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. We knew she would only live a few more years so she went and did whatever she wanted. I told her I would fix the finances later and I did, thanks to Dave Ramsey
I'm a Christian and your videos happen to appear on my TH-cam feed. I've never searched anything to do with finances/budgeting etc the day after I found your videos my husband went to church (I'm at home sick) and what was said was about 10 year plans, your walk with God, your financial plans etc needless to say I believe this was from God giving my husband and I a wake up call. Also before this happened I could never talk to my husband by about finances etc but now it's all we talk about. Thank you for your videos!
Coming from an atheist I have to say this was extremely well worded and respectable. I don't believe in the bible but that doesn't mean it doesn't have good lessons. I have so much respect for Dave and his openness to talk to anyone and help anyone regardless of their personal belief. Thanks for the advice throughout the years and I'll keep returning for more!
Oh I hear a MLM sales pitch coming! 😂 Yes honey, there are small percentages of people who are not in poverty but the chances of most people doing that are slim.
thats good. but ramsey is talking about a roadmap to success for the general population. that having children after your married, and getting out of debt before your married, while not having children out of wedlock is the easiest pathway out of poverty and into financial independence. glad you are a exception to the rule, but know you are the exception, not the rule. those who dont follow these guidelines tend to drain the welfare system who are a burden on society.
Soaring Grasslands I’m not dense i know that! My comment was for people who aren’t following the road map and are watching this can see it’s 100% possible if they truly want it! I’ll start a new rule! HARD WORK beats any statistic!
I’m 17 I’m confident I’ll be a millionaire by 25. Thanks Dave, Ben, gram, dad, the advise is priceless. Learning from others mistakes is one of the best tools.
Dave Ramsey is a Super Hero in my life. Ever since a cousin recommended The Total Money Makeover, my whole life changed. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to shake his hand and tell him thank you face to face. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
As someone that's agnostic, I don't care about the religious references that Dave makes in his shows, and I just brush past it. It doesn't affect me one way or another if he quotes the Bible. It's the steps that matter to me and I already have the knowledge I need from his book, but I just watch the videos to keep me determined and inspired.
I started watching Dave on youtube from the get go, the channel didn't get many views and I couldn't believe it, I was worried. But now that the youtubers have caught on and are watching and listening I am relieved to know that people are getting it. There are alot of great minds watching this channel.
Great advice Dave. Also I wanted to mention, and you've said it before, that taking money out of your retirement plan doesn't usually provide you with the level of pain necessary to change your lifestyle and spending habits for good. There was not any pain in earning/saving that money because it was such a small amount or matched over time. Most people go back in debt when taking short cuts. Take his advice, it's really simple and is stuff we all should have learned in high school if not taught by our parents
So very true! I went to college and got a bs degree in finance, so in my ignorance thought I knew everything and still didn’t get my finances to a true positive net worth until I humbled myself and finally did the Dave Ramsey plan and got some self discipline and connected it to my faith journey! Just 2 years left of bs6!

I believe that research 100%. My sister is impoverished has three children and never got married. She is stuck in a Perpetual cycle of poverty especially since she has no education in the side of school wasn't important after having her first
I love watching Dave, he gives great no bs advice. I’m a young watcher, and I believe in science, not cults... but it’s about respect. Respect Dave and HIS show. If he wants to be religious and share his religion with his viewers then that is fine with me! If people have an issue with religion, they can watch something else.
Some of the things you said about the beliefs you mentioned was me. And it is people like yourself making videos like this that help me to realize those mistakes so I can keep moving forward to a better future. Thank you very much for what you guys do
People really need to learn that you don't have to agree with 100% of everything someone says to get some benefit from listening to them (in general). I'm pretty liberal and don't follow any specific religion - I learn things from people with different views than me all the time. There are a couple of things I don't agree on with Dave's plan but I have learned a ton listening and his show has helped keep the motivation going while I paid off my debt and saved up an emergency fund. Thanks Dave. :)
As a millennial, I completely believe in his approach. I especially like the 'snowball' method of paying off debt, specifically student loans. I've already paid off 3 small ones and feel like the rest will be easy! Thanks!
I enjoy watching Dave Ramsey show, lot people need to hear from him. I remember 35 yrs ago you won’t be allowed to date a lady or ask for marriage proposal until he has a job or well settled in his career.
A young friend of mine had to save $30,000 and have a good job before he had parents' blessing to marry his girlfriend. They are doing well now! Good discipline and commitment.
Is so true!! My wife and I we was in debt 8 months ago, thank you God We stared listen Dave Ramsey and now We are debt free, but decisions are our, like he said he only teach us how!! Feels so good!! GOD Bless you Mr Dave 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am an islander. Love the way Mr Ramsey preached about biblical principal in how to spend give and invest. Also he encourages to pay off debt first. Onced our aunt says" PLEASE LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS"
People don't undeestand "doing things in order" is not just a morality stance, but an ECONOMICAL one! Most that don't do things in order, suffer at some point.
Dave is teaching what he understands, the way he understands it. That's all anyone can ever do. If you can't filter out the stuff you don't like and just pay attention to the lessons, you're going to struggle very hard in life. Everyone has something to teach and there's always something to learn. I'm an Atheist and I don't mind Dave's methods in the slightest.
Thanks Dave Ramsey. I love what you've been discussing and teaching here. I will be on my way to financial freedom, to be able to generously give those who are in great need. God bless and more power to your show!
Dave Ramsey honestly doesn’t think credit cards are all bad, but he preaches not using them because he knows MOST people don’t have the discipline to use them properly. So it’s better to just not have them at all.
We love our credit card. We don’t buy any extra because of it and use the point perks to roll into the debt we have. It consolidates the money going out and always gets paid off. Never paid interest on it. Has skyrocketed my credit score and maintains it. As soon as I call them up and cancel it I loose points on my credit score... no thank you!
I'm a 20 year old university student studying business and accounting (no debt) and have been learning about finance and investing since I was 17. If you want to get a good start in learning I would recommend reading consistently and watching AGM meetings for big public companies so you can understand the TRUE nitty and gritty finances of business that you can use in your personal lives. And also good stuff Dave Ramsey keep it up!
Dave, i was in Brentwood and drove by your headquarters and a friend of mine jumped out the car and demanded for me to take his picture infront of your sign lol (he lives in Alabama). I became curious of who you were and then became hooked on your financial wisdom. Been watching ever since!
I’m 23 and I couldn’t agree more with the morals you express, the biblical thoughts and financial beliefs go hand in hand. It’s not a coincidence that people with low morals struggle.
Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. I started investing with $150k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and get more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.
@Susan8765gr However, if you do not have access to a professional like JUDITH ANN PEACE, quitting your job to focus on trading may not be the best approach. It is important to consider all options and seek guidance from reliable sources before making any major decisions. Consulting with an AI or using automated trading systems can also be helpful in managing investments while balancing other commitments...
I’m 22 and I love listening to Dave Ramsey. He speaks of a philosophy I already had before I started listening to him but he helps me actually IMPLEMENT that philosophy into my life and behavior. I recently graduated college, am about to get married and buy a house and have $25k in savings. It’s all hard work and living below your means. It’s all about driving an old car and cooking at home and not going to expensive vacations. Dave is extremely wise. People who disagree with his philosophy of financial independence are the ones that refuse to live below their means and refuse to give up things that give them instant gratification.
I preach this to my parents and especially my mother even before I discovered Dave Ramsey ( I had a teacher who tough almost the same thing just not biblical ) some people just can’t be changed and admittedly I let my family influence me even tho I knew better and now I’ve learned the right path ... some times things take messing up and some times people just don’t learn and some people just don’t want to while the rest of us smell the rat 🐀 Dave should talk about kids being afraid to go this way while being influenced by their parents to go the normal route it would help millions!
Credit cards are an amazing tool that can provide cash flow as long as you’re disciplined and pay your balance off in full every month. The credit cards aren’t what’s getting you in debt it’s your lack of discipline that’s getting you in debt.
I found your channel about 4-5 months ago, funny thing is I never heard about your baby step but I just somehow planed and doing things every similar to yours. Our plan was not that perfect but I just knew that if I can make more than I spent I world be at least on the right track. I'm at the every end of 2nd and 3rd step (I need to do 3rd step along with 2nd because I'm biz owner and I need cash flow to keep it running) with almost 100k saving. I worked for at least 70 hrs a week, buy only 2nd hand cloth and shoes, live below the mean, do everything we could for 12 yrs. If I found your channel earlier I believe I will get to this point a year or 2 earlier. But at least I know the direction I need to take from here. Love your channel!!!
I'm 25, live on my own, and am non religious. You can dave ramsey with out the religious part. Instead of tithing when I get out of debt I'm going to donate to a animal shelter.
@Somewhere Down The Road You don't have to follow either the Bible or any religion to know that Dave Ramsey's principles of *saving* are sound. His *investment ideas* ? That's a different matter, and I disagree with some of them, such as his absolute refusal to take on *any* debt. Debt, like alcohol, by itself is not inherently good or bad. It all depends on how you use it.
@@ArmageddonIsHere Yep and I'm sure that Dave himself knows that not all debt is bad. However, very few people have the discipline and the knowledge to use debt to their advantage. I think that's why he teaches against it. If he didn't, there'd be somebody calling him a fraud because they would insist that they followed his advice and wound up filing for bankruptcy when in fact somewhere along the way they messed up.
I’m 31 I wish I could’ve found a channel like this one way before my age I will be a different man today. Thank you MR RAMSEY God bless you for this information
Thank you for properly identifying the generation - a lot of people use "millennial" as a catch-all term for all young people, when in fact the oldest millennials are almost 40. We're not kids. ;)

@blueowl89 My story matches yours almost a 100%. No regrets.
I hope you find Jesus :)

Good job, Nozi!
Dave is such a wise guy, love the show.

I like the facts and data as a mMillennial. I’ll be done with BS4 this year.
That's awesome 👍

@@Quarantina237 Most tithing is basically membership dues to a religious themed country club. Banging music, coffee cafes and short term poverty themed vacations to already Christian countries to build things that skilled workers have to redo isn't always the best idea. I’m agnostic but I love your vids Dave! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping so many people win!
Good comment. I'm like you but different because I'm Christian but also recognize that I can learn from non Christian's

This was an awesome word: Belief dictates behavior.

You are fortunate to get clued in at such a young age!
Coming from an atheist I have to say this was extremely well worded and respectable. I don't believe in the bible but that doesn't mean it doesn't have good lessons. I have so much respect for Dave and his openness to talk to anyone and help anyone regardless of their personal belief. Thanks for the advice throughout the years and I'll keep returning for more!

thats good. but ramsey is talking about a roadmap to success for the general population. that having children after your married, and getting out of debt before your married, while not having children out of wedlock is the easiest pathway out of poverty and into financial independence.

@@EAAAA1505 You are correct
Thanks!
I found this channel on TH-cam. Changed my whole life how I looked at money. For that I'm truly grateful, thanks Dave and his team.

A young friend of mine had to save $30,000 and have a good job before he had parents' blessing to marry his girlfriend. They are doing well now! Good discipline and commitment.

Dave is teaching what he understands, the way he understands it. That's all anyone can ever do. Dee A. Credit cards are not bad. Buying items that you can’t afford is.
@NurturingTalents
I think about every purchase I make lol. I have a calculator in my head and decide if something's a rip off or not.
Dave Ramsey honestly doesn’t think credit cards are all bad, but he preaches not using them because he knows MOST people don’t have the discipline to use them properly. So it’s better to just not have them at all.
@@ssp287 I explained to him that's what a credit card was. Buying something with money you dont have
We love our credit card.

I love that you're Christian! It made me believe in you even more because I know your resource is legit and reliable!
You’re a legend Dave.
I started following Dave Ramsey when I was 21....an absolute game changer for my life
Credit cards are an amazing tool that can provide cash flow as long as you’re disciplined and pay your balance off in full every month. The credit cards aren’t what’s getting you in debt it’s your lack of discipline that’s getting you in debt.
Good point.
If you can pay your balance off in full every month, why not just wait a month and then just buy the thing?
StudioArtFX Because if I just buy with cash or charge it on a debit card I’m not getting a return and I’m
not building cash flow.

Or why not get the free rewards?
True but statistically speaking. Most people shouldn't go that route.

I'll still listen to you Dave, even when I know you're out doing lines of cookies

Follow the data, not the dogma.
@Somewhere Down The Road
You don't have to follow either the Bible or any religion to know that Dave Ramsey's principles of *saving* are sound.
