With Angelina, I always understand and feel the lyrics more than I had before, and this is true even with famous classics like "Yesterday", "Billie Jean", "California Dreamin', "Suspicious Minds", etc....
Even her imperfections are perfect.

I love Adele, and her songwriting is absolutely beautiful. She’s a great singer, but she doesn’t have Angelina’s vocal tools. I don’t think anyone does. Angelina doesn’t throw away a word or a syllable. You understand, you feel every word in the lyrics. This is the best version of this song I’ve ever heard.

Over and over again she covers songs that I've heard a bunch of times, but never really new the lyrics until she sang them. She's a storyteller with music.

I think this song elicits so much emotion because for Angelina it is autobiographical. As a child in the industry she didn't want to feel the stress of growing up within it. Thus go easy on me. She didn't get the chance to choose what she chose so to speak because everything happened so fast. At least that's the interpretation of many.
Angelina taps into the pain Billie Holiday transferred from her life to her music and it is evident when you
note hersaying that if not for Billie, there would be no Angelina Jordan today as the singer she is.

Angelina is a true 'Jazz' singing specialist and when singing any heartfelt ballad, especially those by Adele and
Rhianna, she brings forth far more emotion laden penetration to the listener because these two other artists
mentioned are basically non-jazz 'Pop' singers, and unless you're on a level of Billie Holiday, there is no way you
could ever hope to match this girl. She has mastered all the inventive, improvisational elements that Billie was
known for, including emotion on a mind blowing level and these 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases she applies in
this song.
It often occurs you're fully aware of the lyrics for the first time when Angelina upgrades a famous song with her own rendition.
Adele is great when singing her own song, but because of the warmth and wellcomenes in Angelina's voice, she feels "sharp" and "cold" compared to that. This performace was done only days after the original was released, Angelina was still 15yo then. And Rob Christie (he's on piano here) was very proud about it, and rightfully so.

It's one thing to hit the notes and rythm but what sets Angelina apart is her delivery of emotion to the song.
Adele is one of the best but nobody can emit the emotion and soul of a song like Angelina.
I think she reads the lyrics first before listening to the song.
In this way she can understand the feeling and emotion the artist wants to convey.
Then she arranges it to be able to dramatically convey the feeling and emotion to us.
She takes iconic songs and makes them Angelina songs.
Her vocals, tones and smokiness do the rest.
She is already The Greatest of All Time! Just amazing!!
I think when Adele sings this song she goes more for the power vocals, while Angelina sings it in a more delicate, emotional way. I prefer AJ's version, but that's the case most of the time.

I recommend you a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a singer that transmits a lot when she sings and has incredible melismas. She is also very versatile when it comes to singing. She sings different musical styles. Best regards

I have said many times that no other artist covers Adele like Angelina does. When Angelina chooses to cover another artist’s songs she does so respectfully and then she takes ownership of them.

Angelina's warm tones just expresses this song deeper than what others have done.
Better than Adele for sure. Although the lyrics relate closely to Adele's relationship with her son, I've got the impression that Angelina's version or rather voice are more expressive because deeper than Aele's who, with her british accent, seemed partly "detached" or "nonchalant" as if not much concerned or somewhat "reciting" the song rather than singing it & feeling it. But that's just a personal impression. And I do think that Adele is a great singer. The same remarks go for Angelina's cover of Adele's "All I ask" and the mash-up video shows that clearly.
I don't think that her accent has much to do with it, but the fact that she is a Pop singer. Angelina has her roots in jazz, a genre which encourages singers - and instrumentalists - to embellish their performances with subtle nuances. I certainly agree that Angelina's vice has a richness which others can only dream oft. By comparison, Adele's vice is very thing.
