Ultimasaurus imperatrix was something that cropped up on the fly and helping flesh it as well as the OG variant out was good fun in speculative biology. Often at times when we think hybrids, we kinda default to thinking it must be superior to its components as a gestalt. But, mixing traits rarely works that way. The crux of U.imperatrix was to create an animal that still fit the general shape of the classic Ultimasaurus, but balance out the body type so the components complimented one another. Very proud of how this one came out as the visuals and narration were very on point and really brought it all together.

Sauropods are the most powerful land animal that ever existed and this gives one it's time in the sun.

So, according to the Chaos Effect toy line, the Ultimasaurus was created post the events of Jurassic Park. The hybrids were created because after losing Wu (either due to his death in the book, or because he clearly stopped working for InGen for some time after the events of the first movie), InGen's remaining scientists struggled to restore the lost processes Wu used. With the facilities on the islands essentially lost, they were mostly starting from scratch. Because of this, the best they could do was work with the already present genomes of the currently restored animals by sampling from living animals.
The goal was to make animals which were much easier to control, so they tried blending the animals and often under the faulty premise that integrating herbivore DNA, it'd make them more docile and easier to control. It did not work outside of the one which was hybridized with canine DNA. In fact, the most violent members of the Chaos Effect line were all carnivore/herbivore hybrids.
Ultimasaurus was supposed to (narratively, at least) have ended up as the most aggressive of the lot, and it was intended to be the size of Tyrannosaurus Rex. The toy sizes actually didn't line up with the actual sizes of the animals. Amargospinus was described to be the size of a Brachiosaurus, and its toy was nowhere near that in scale. Because of its hyper aggression, I don't know if it could function in a social manner, or even attempt to do so. The only animal which had what I'd call a stable and normal psyche was the Ankyloranodon. The Ultimasaurus was the polar opposite of this, with the box being planned to describe the animal as utterly unpredictable.
In the end, InGen spent more money on Chaos Effect than perhaps the original Jurassic Park, with the best technology on the planet dedicated to making these animals and the equipment of its men (including exo-skeleton frames and aircraft). Though a couple of designs had promise, the general theme seems to be that it happens around the same time as The Lost World and the arrival of Hammond's team results in the project's failure. Perhaps in large part because InGen hired the same team, but with Dieter Stark having a greater leadership role.. And we know how effective he was. His toy even featured strange tubes connecting into his flesh from his gear and whatever he was injecting himself with had turned his hair stark white (pun intended), so he may have been even more unstable than before.
Of note, a baby Ultimasaurus did get released and it was with a heavily equipped Roland Tembo. The Chaos Effect animals never seemed to be described as breeding, so I'm not sure if he was supposed to be its handler, if it was intended to have any kind of special relationship with him, or if it was supposed to represent Roland using the "take a chick to lure the adults" technique. But the relationship with Roland and the Ultimasaurus seems to be important. From there we can pretty clearly tell the Ultimasaurus replaces the Tyrannosaurus Rex's role as the ultimate hunter in the Chaos Effect story. We can further confirm this because two entirely new Tyrannosaur hybrids were developed, resulting in larger and more dangerous versions of the already terrifying Rex. Both the Omega Rex and the Thrasher Rex were repaints of the bull and doe rexes, and both of their boxes describe them as basically the undisputed, most powerful dinosaurs ever. So I suspect the Ultimasaurus, which distinctly never had any kinds of descriptions like that attached to it, might've been bested by the pair in the story had it gone through. Namely since both animals seem to be "top dog", and the two animals are male and female, which to me means they ended up functioning as a non-competing team. Further evidence of this involves the fact that the Omega Rex specifically cites the Ultimasaurus as being able to match it in battle.
If that's the case though, then it took two genetically enhanced Tyrannosaurs to defeat the Ultimasaurus. Which at this point is just speculation, but we really don't have a lot to go off of at this point beyond what I've already written out. Which would then mean the Ultimasaurus could probably take on pretty much everything in the JP franchise to date, and probably devastate even the mighty Indominus Rex.
Truly, there's never been an InGen dinosaur quite as awe inspiring as the Ultimasaurus, which perhaps best of all of InGen's creations embodies the very concept of Chaos Theory, and the lessons Crichton had hoped to instill in his novel involving mankind and tampering with the infinite complexity of life.
Anyway, it seems like maybe you guys weren't quite as familiar with the toyline, so I thought I'd just do an info vomit there in case you ever feel like doing a follow up video on Ultimasaurus! =)

The Ultimasaurs 2.0 seems like it would be a perfect gladiator in the GojiCenter Arena. I think it would awesome if you guys went into a detailed analysis of what would happen if other dinosaurs, like the Indominus, Spino, or Indoraptor encountered the Imperitrix. Or even better, what would happen if the Imperitrix was in the Monsterverse and it fought against something like a Skullcrawler? Or the Whitespikes from The Tomorrow War? I'd love to see a video going in depth on what this thing could do. But one thing in this video makes me wonder. The Ultimasaurus Imperitrix is only 15 percent carnivore. It is mostly made up of herbivorous dinosaurs. So that begs the question, does it behave like an herbivore? Does it eat like an herbivore? Or is the T.Rex in it predominant enough to make it behave and react to threats like a carnivore? It's something that I think would make a good topic for a sequel video. I love the content, guys. Keep it up!!

@Robert Cameron of course you use the indomunus vs gyrosphere set, which was the smallest indom toy produced, That doesn't mean the ultimosarus was bigger, by that logic if you compared that 2015 toy you mentioned to the old kenner red rex, the rex is bigger, so that would mean the indom was small right? No, bc in the films it was the size of a rex, and could grow bigger. That gyrosphere set was made to be small for kids, if you compare the bigger indomunus rex toys in 2023 it's bigger then the ultimosarus figure.. i even own the canceled ultimosarus toy. Crazy how you tried to pull out this BS.

Fun Fact--there IS actually an animal that has the weaponry of a predator, but the mentality of prey.
The Sloth Bear found in India has not only opted to specialize in eating termites, it's become a primary prey item for tigers. This has made them THE most aggressive bear on the planet, with anything that can remotely be seen as a threat getting a very violent treatment (and they often go for the face).
I imagine Ultimasaurus would have a similar mentality--the weapons of a predator, but the mentality of prey.

We have to consider that the Ultimasaur probably required a lot of maintenance, such as wearing its horns, supplementing its diet for keratin, and the enrichments necessary for an intelligent animal. The biggest problem being its need to socialize, as mentioned, it would probably have to exist with others of its kind, instead of base genomes, otherwise you'd end up with another Indominus or Indoraptor, solitary animals like this are hardly healthy animals. I can also imagine a penchant to consume vegetation, to wear its beak and reinforce its armor.

The only things that I'm not sure about is:
    1. The way the Ultima will use it's tail, with the right maneuver (and not standing still) he should be able to use a strong tail attack. And mostly against bigger opponents
    2. I think that the Ultima can use a charged attack but because of the way the body is build and the high point of gravity, the Ultima will have to have a lot of momentum and attack only bigger opponents.
    3. Because there are a few concepts of the Ultima (in the video) some things will not work the same. For example, the idea that a bigger opponents will catch the frill of the Ultima, if there will be spikes on the frill (like one of the concept) it will not be possible so......

I could totally see these guys being pack creatures. Raptor DNA plus 3 herd type herbivores. Assuming that is the case, I could see rudimentary to moderate pack tactics being a thing. Not quite to the level of raptors, but certainly a considerable level. Taking that into account and assuming a pack size of no less than 3, but likely double or more, I could absolutely see these things being an apex species (albeit not as individuals).
The 2.0 version, ironically, would be even more pack inclined, even though they'd lack the raptor disposition for tactics. I'd imagine groups (if they did exist) would only consist of mating pairs or odd groups of no more than four simply due to the massively increased caloric intake-which ironically makes them fall more in line with Rex behavior (as I understand it). Still, more than one of the refined versions is still basically a death sentence for anything we've seen so far in the Jurassic Universe.

Allosaurus is actually a far superior predator than the T-Rex was. Literally the only thing tyrannosaur’s could do was bite with the most crushing jaw strength ever. It wasn’t a viable combat strat at all and more suited to just ripping apart carcasses and maybe racking a kill or too. They had no grappling potential and were actually incredibly slow to the point that actively hunting prey was more an act of desperation than a viable survival tactic. They preferred to just scavenge corpses and scare off dinosaurs that killed their prey since they didn’t have to work for it, which granted, they actually did remarkably well. Allosaurus actually had the skills to constantly hunt and kill it’s prey regularly.

      1. What would be the point of developing a bone crushing bite force and massive bulk if all it did was scavenge off of others?
      2. By “grappling potential”, do you actually mean “long grasping arms”? If so, most predators don’t need long grasping arms to kill prey. Look at canines, bears, sharks, snakes, whales, felids, and etc.
      3. T. rex didn’t need to be fast. It just needed to be faster than its prey. Also, there’s such thing as ambush hunting.
Edit: I also forgot this point:
      4. If T. rex wasn’t the apex predator of the Hell Creek formation, then what was? There had to have been an apex predator to hunt the larger herbivores like Ankylosaurs, Hadrosaurids, Ceratopsians, and etc.

nope not a failure not a successor just an amalgamation

That is literally what they did! They basically made it smaller because "oh the toy is smaller then the oversize repainted trex figure, so it is most likely small and weak. We are so smart!"

Well we all thought its a beast worthy for indominus rex to fight but turns out scoripos is a better match up.

honestly in regards to the indomidus i think it would actually use the horns to potentially snap the neck of our poor amalgamation of traits.

@@ashtontheballer9317 the ultima isnt an actual hybrid in the jurassic park franchise, there is no official size confirmation because the animal canonically never existed. Its just from a toy line

So i was thinking of viable Thagopods that could replace the Stego in the Imperitus, that could provide a decent thagomizer tail but maybe give the animal more offensive capabilities and take off the weight... And I was thinking of maybe Dacentrurus which would make it's spikes more... spiky and also make it also spiny? Just a random thought I had... Great video and awesome concept! I would love to see more of this!

Goji center scores again with another amazing video. I am definitely putting the updated ultimasaurus in my DnD campaign. It's an awesome monster.
also, once again I am asking for "10 ways to die in middle earth" video.

Honestly if this animal appeared in the Jurassic movies I’d say it’d be absolutely amazing, and definitely a threatening villain for whatever film it’d show up in, especially if it was the Ultima 2.0

I could see it on the defensive staying on all fours, eyes locked on the aggressor while the tail just being a warning flag since the other dinos are VERY familiar with the tail club/spikes, especially when they're together. Color palette being a deterrent as well like a poison frog. All depends on how that predator knows how to use its armament, but since it's a one of a kind aberration to nature...chances are it wouldn't be as effective since that's too many instinctual habits into one dino. That chemical mix must be Hell to fixate since it doesn't seem like it'd have a senior to "teach" it (No telling how it'd interact with a sibling with that much mismatched DNA and attributes) and like the Indominus, it'd probably go the mess around and find out tactic since it has near zero idea what it is or what its place is in the ecosystem is since it'll just see parts instead of another of its kind. Then again, nature, uhh, finds a way

I remember seeing this and other hybrid dinosaur Jurassic Park toys in the early 2000's. I thought this one was cool based off the triceratops horns and frill on a trex. Awesome
